he died because of the sin of the church. back then the commoners weren't allowed to worship outside of the church and only the Pharisees and rabbis could preach the word of God. with this monopoly on God the people were kept under religious slavery as they were not pure enough to live without their word. Jesus changed that by giving freedom to his followers and those who wished to join his path. Jesus died to free us from religious oppressions, as did King James by authorizing the Bible to be translated to English.
