US troops told Trump’s attack on Iran is ‘signal fire for Armageddon’

A US military religious freedom advocacy group has received over 200 complaints about Christian fundamentalist speeches by commanding officers

Multiple commanders across all branches of the US military have offered a fundamentalist Christian explanation for the attack on Iran, describing President Donald Trump as the harbinger of the Second Coming and the conflict itself as a “signal fire” for Armageddon, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) has reported.

The MRFF, a US non-profit promoting the separation of church and state, as well as freedom of conscience within the military, said on Tuesday that it had received more than 200 complaints from active members of the US military over extremist Christian speeches delivered by commanding officers since the start of the US-Israeli attack on Iran.

One of the complaints was lodged by a non-commissioned officer (NCO) with a unit in Ready-Support status, which can be deployed into the Iran combat zone at any time. The commander of the unit “urged us to tell our troops that this was ‘all part of God’s divine plan,’ and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ,” the NCO wrote.

“He said that ‘President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.’ He had a big grin on his face when he said all of this, which made his message seem even more crazy,” he noted.

The MRFF founder and president, Mikey Weinstein, a US Air Force veteran and legal counsel under the Reagan administration, said that most of those who reached the group have reported “unrestricted euphoria of their commanders and command chains” over the purportedly “biblically-sanctioned” war on Iran.

“Any military members seeking to take advantage of their subordinates by advancing their blood-soaked, Christian nationalist wet dreams upon the flames of this latest non-Congressionally sanctioned attack against Iran should be swiftly, aggressively, and visibly prosecuted,” Weinstein said in a statement.

The MRFF has long sounded the alarm over the rapidly growing Christian nationalist sentiment among the US military top brass. The advocacy has repeatedly called out US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth over his openly religious activities, including participation in Bible study events and hosting hardline Christian nationalist preachers at the Pentagon.

The gunman was found dead in his vehicle after ramming the building

A gunman has been found dead after ramming Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, and opening fire on a security guard. The attack prompted a massive local and federal response.

Local law enforcement and federal agents descended on the synagogue on Thursday, responding to what FBI Director Kash Patel called an “apparent vehicle ramming and active shooter situation.”

The gunman approached a security guard and shots were fired, Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard said, adding that nobody was hurt except the attacker. The suspect plowed through the front doors of the synagogue before “something ignited” inside his vehicle, filling the house of worship with smoke.

He was found dead inside the vehicle, Bouchard said, adding that it was not immediately clear whether he was burned to death or died of a gunshot wound.

“Everything that was supposed to happen, happened,” he said. “Security did their job, and then the responders did theirs.” Bouchard said that investigators are searching the building for potential explosive devices, and that no motive for the attack has been established.

Video footage from the scene shows FBI agents surrounding the synagogue, armed with rifles and wearing body armor. Smoke could be seen billowing from the roof of the building in aerial footage.

The incident took place less than an hour after a gunman opened fire at Old Dominion University in Virginia, seriously injuring two people. The shooter was killed during the attack, although it is unclear whether he took his own life or was shot by police.

White House is blocking top US intelligence agencies from warning law enforcement across the country about rising threats to the homeland tied to his war with Iran, the Daily Mail can reveal.

The FBI, Homeland Security, and the National Counterterrorism Center were preparing to put out a joint intelligence statement on Friday to state and local authorities alerting them of a heightened threat due to the ongoing war in Iran, a senior DHS official said.

The five-page bulletin blocked by the White House provides specific details on how Iranian proxies may carry out attacks across the country. One section explains how local law enforcement can respond to this type of violence.

The official title is 'A Public Safety Awareness Report: Elevated threat in the United States during US-Iran conflict'.

Homeland Security broke protocol and gave the White House a heads-up about the nationwide bulletin hours before it was set to be released.

Top Trump officials ordered it placed on ‘hold’. The White House did not deny blocking the terror bulletin in a statement to the Daily Mail.

'The White House is coordinating closely with all government agencies to ensure information being disseminated is accurate, up to date, and has been properly vetted — even if that means taking additional time to review to ensure nothing is done in a vacuum,' said White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson.

The senior DHS official disputed the White House explanation: ‘The three [agencies] were going to release a joint intelligence statement that would elevate the threat level and start addressing the Iranian threat on American soil.'

‘The White House stopped it, and verbalized down to DHS that any unclassified “for official use only” information going forward concerning Iran has to be reviewed by the White House before any dissemination.’

DHS’s decision to inform the White House was done against the wishes of the FBI leadership, the Daily Mail has learned.

‘White House is now inserting themselves. This can have a chilling effect on keeping state and local law enforcement informed about ongoing terrorist threats to the homeland posed by Iran,’ the official added.

‘They don’t want anything getting out that says what they’re doing in Iran is raising the threat level at home.’

Typically, these intel bulletins would be issued to law enforcement without input from the White House to avoid politicizing intelligence communications.

‘Intelligence products for law enforcement are supposed to be neutral, and fact based,’ the official asserted.

India’s purchase has decreased or increased depending on supply and economy since it started purchasing Russian crude in large quantities in 2022 (because it was available at discounted prices). Regardless of US claims of making India “stop” buying Russian oil, India imported over 20% of its crude from Russia in February 2026.

The US Treasury Department has been tying itself in knots trying to convince the world that they control India’s energy purchase priorities. On March 6, the Treasury Department issued a notice announcing that it is ‘allowing’ India a 30-day waiver to purchase Russian crude currently in tankers at sea.

Speaking at a news show, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright was seen explaining how the 30-day waiver ‘allowed’ by them was necessary for the stabilisation of global oil prices because Russian crude getting refined at India’s refineries reduces the burden on global refineries and keeps oil prices stabilised at a time when there is a supply crunch.

“China does not treat their suppliers well. So there is a bunch of floating barrels just sitting there. So we have reached out to our friends in India, we said ‘buy their oil, bring it into your rifineries. That puts stored oil into the Indian refineries and releases the pressure on other refineries around the world. …We have a number of measures like it that is short term and temporary. There is no change in our policy towards Russia. This is a very brief change in policy, just to keep oil prices down”, Chris Wright stated on ABC News Live.

On another news show, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox, “Yesterday, Treasury agreed to let our allies in India start buying Russian oil that is on the water. The Indians have been very good actors. We had asked them to stop buying sanctioned Russian oil, and they did. They are going to substitute it with US oil. But there is a temporary gap in oil around the world. So we have given them permission to accept Russian oil. We may un-sanction other Russian oil too. There is one thing Treasury can do here. There are hundreds of millions of barrels of sanctioned crude on the water, and in essence, by un-sanctioning them, the Treasury can create supply. We are looking at that. We are going to be announcing measures to bring relief to the market.”

He added that there is an ‘other side’ of this change in stand, that can keep oil prices sustainable.

The US lies and hypocrisy

The only thing more glaring here than the obvious lie that the US controls India’s oil purchases is the sheer hypocrisy of the US government to insinuate that their sanctions are a blessing for the world, and when they pretend to un-sanction their own sanctions, it is again for the benefit of the world.

The Indian government has told time and again, even in their parliament, that Indian purchase of crude, any crude, is a sovereign decision driven by national interest. India imports over 80% of its crude oil, and India buys wherever it is available cheaply.

The US claims of ‘stopping’ and ‘allowing’ are both false

Secondly, here, the Trump administration itself is admitting that India buying Russian crude keeps global prices down. This is something that was corroborated by India’s Ministry of External Affairs last year when it said that the USA government had conveyed to them that India should keep buying Russian oil to keep the global oil market sustainable. The US government flipped on its own stand when it slapped 25% additional tariffs on India for buying Russian oil.

Bessent and Wright may have to keep their domestic MAGA fanbase appeased, and for that, they need to proclaim time and again that they are the ones controlling the global oil purchase through sanctions. But the reality is India has always bought oil as per its needs and national interests. India may have avoided certain sanctioned entities due to legal issues, but Russian oil has been flowing into India consistently since 2022.

As of now, an increasing number of tankers carrying Russian crude are docking at Indian ports. The world is in the grip of a potential supply crunch of oil and gas because, in a sad irony, the USA has started another war.
