Condition 1984: Flock AI Cameras Are Surveilling Nearly Every American Across the US

More than 80,000 AI-powered cameras made by Flock Safety are actively surveilling nearly every American as they commute to work, walk their dogs, and drive to church. Flock and companies like it are building the foundation for a surveillance state by installing high-tech AI cameras on every street corner, positioning them in every neighborhood, and even launching AI eyes in the sky through a drone network. More than 5,000 law-enforcement agencies use the tech in 49 states (Alaska being the outlier). The technology has been weaponized in some instances.

Earlier this year, Flock made national news when Amazon Ring doorbell company partnered with Flock to launch a campaign called “Search Party” to help find lost dogs. There was backlash in response to Ring’s AI that could find the rogue pets by tapping into everyone’s doorbell cameras through Big Brother-style surveillance. Ring severed its partnership with Flock.

Resistance to Flock is growing. DeFlock is a website and community that reports and maps out the locations of the cameras across the nation. DeFlock states that a private company constantly spying on Americans without a warrant or consent is unlawful and dangerous.

AI Can Now Unmask Anonymous Internet Users, New Study Finds

A research paper showed that modern large language models (LLMs) can re-identify people behind pseudonymous online accounts at a scale and accuracy that far surpass previous techniques.

Posts, comments, and interview transcripts written under a pseudonym are scraped for identity-relevant signals and likely. matching semantic embeddings. Persistent usernames, writing style, niche interests, and cross-platform references can collectively act as a fingerprint.

Anthropic Sues Trump Administration Over Pentagon Blacklist

Anthropic is suing the Trump administration because it was recently designated a “Supply-Chain Risk to National Security” by the Department of War after refusing to loosen restrictions on how its AI models can be used.

Anthropic says the government is retaliating against it for maintaining two safety guardrails for Claude, the company’s suite of large language models (LLMs) and AI assistants. One prohibits fully autonomous lethal warfare; the other bars mass surveillance of Americans. Anthropic asserts that the government is punishing the company for its protected speech. The Pentagon, however, insists that military use of the technology should not be constrained by a private company’s policies. Trump demanded that every federal agency in the US government cease the us of all Anthropic technology.
