Drone Strikes Hit Russia’s Port of Kavkaz, Oil Refinery, and Chemical Plant Overnight

Mar 14, 2026 11:57

Multiple Russian regions came under drone attacks overnight on March 14, with reported strikes targeting the port of Kavkaz in Russia’s Krasnodar region, the Afipsky oil refinery, and a major chemical facility in the Samara region.

According to ASTRA on March 14, the attacks appeared to focus on infrastructure linked to Russia’s fuel supply and industrial sector.

The operational headquarters of Russia’s Krasnodar region confirmed that drones struck the port of Kavkaz in the Temryuk district and the Afipsky oil refinery in the Seversky district.

Officials said debris from intercepted drones caused damage and fires at the facilities.

At the port of Kavkaz, debris from drones damaged a technical vessel and triggered a localized fire at a pier complex, according to the Krasnodar regional operational headquarters cited by ASTRA.

Russian authorities reported that three people were injured and hospitalized following the incident.

Video footage circulated online and geolocated by ASTRA showed a fire at the Afipsky oil refinery.

Russian officials said the blaze began after fragments from downed drones fell on technical installations at the site. Authorities reported no casualties at the refinery.

Explosions and air defense activity were also reported near the city of Tolyatti in Russia’s Samara region.

According to ASTRA, the likely target was the KuibyshevAzot chemical plant, a major Russian producer of chemical materials.

Samara region governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev stated that Russian air defenses shot down three drones over the region overnight.

ASTRA also reported that one drone may have fallen in a residential complex in northern Krasnodar, though officials did not provide details about possible damage.

Separately, the governor of Russia’s Belgorod region said one person was killed and another injured during overnight drone attacks.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense stated that air defenses intercepted or destroyed 87 Ukrainian drones during the night, though the ministry did not specify which facilities were targeted.

The port of Kavkaz is a key logistics hub in southern Russia. By cargo volume, it ranks fifth among Russian ports and second in the Azov–Black Sea basin after Novorossiysk.

The port’s oil terminal plays a role in supplying fuel to Russian-occupied territories, including Crimea and parts of southern Ukraine.

Update: Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed that Defense Forces units struck the Afipsky oil refinery in the settlement of Afipsky, Krasnodar region, during overnight operations on March 14 aimed at reducing Russia’s military-economic capacity.

According to the statement, the refinery has an annual processing capacity of 6.25 million tons—about 2.1% of Russia’s total oil refining output—and a strike on the facility was followed by a fire on the plant’s territory.

The General Staff also reported damage to infrastructure at the Port of Kavkaz near the Chushka area in Krasnodar region, adding that both facilities are involved in supporting the Russian military. The extent of the damage is still being clarified.

Earlier, drones struck Uralchem’s KCKK chemical plant in the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk in Russia’s Kirov region—more than 1,000 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. The facility produces ammonium nitrate, a chemical used in fertilizer production but also linked to explosive manufacturing.

Kirov region governor Alexander Sokolov confirmed the attack, stating that emergency services responded to the site and that no casualties were reported.

IDF confirms 400th strike wave in Iran since start of Op. Roaring Lion

Updated: MARCH 14, 2026 19:04

The Israeli Air Force completed its 400th wave of strikes in Iran as part of Operation Roaring Lion, the IDF announced on Saturday, stating that the strikes focused on crippling the Iranian regime's fire systems, defense networks, and missile-launching capabilities.

Over the past day, Israeli fighter jets hit over 200 Iranian terror infrastructure sites, including ballistic launchers and weapons storage, aimed at reducing the threat to Israeli territory.

The IDF destroyed an Iranian regime site used for space research, along with a central air defense production plant on Friday night, the military said on Saturday.

The latest wave of strikes was part of an ongoing effort to deepen damage to the Iranian regime’s core military systems and capabilities, according to the IDF.

Acting on IDF intelligence, the Israel Air Force (IAF) struck dozens of regime-linked sites across Tehran, including the regime's main space research center.

The IDF described the center as housing strategic laboratories used for the research and development of military satellites intended for "surveillance, intelligence collection, and directing fire toward targets across the Middle East."

Israeli jets also targeted several sites used to manufacture air defense systems, the IDF said, including what it called a central production facility. "The strike significantly degrades the Iranian terror regime's ability to rehabilitate its aerial defense array," the military stated.

According to the military, the operation forms part of what it described as a deeper phase of strikes aimed at degrading the Iranian regime’s central capabilities and foundations.

Israel entering 'decisive stretch in Iran'

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Saturday morning that Israel was "entering the decisive stretch" in its campaign in Iran.

In remarks made during a security assessment with senior defense officials and cited by Hebrew media, Katz said the campaign against Iran was "escalating" and that Israel was entering a “decisive stretch that will continue for as long as necessary.”

Earlier Saturday, Israel issued an evacuation order for an industrial area located west of the city of Tabriz in Iran, noting that it will "conduct operations in this area in the coming hours."

On Friday, the IDF said it completed 20 waves of strikes across western and central Iran, targeting over 150 regime sites, including missile sites and launchers, drone facilities, defense systems, and weapons production sites.

IDF strikes Iranian Space Agency, air defence production facility

14 March 2026 15:54

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have destroyed the Iranian Space Agency and an aerial defence system production factory, the Israeli military said in a statement on Telegram.

“The IDF continues to deepen its strikes on the systems and capabilities of the Iranian terror regime.

Yesterday evening (Friday), the Israeli Air Force, acting on IDF intelligence, struck dozens of Iranian terror regime infrastructure sites across Tehran.

As part of the strikes, the IDF dismantled the regime’s primary space research centre, which is part of the Iranian regime's forces.

The centre contained strategic laboratories used for research, including developing military satellites for a range of purposes, such as surveillance, intelligence collection, and directing fire toward targets across the Middle East.

The IDF also struck several Iranian terror regime aerial defence systems production sites. As part of the strikes, the IDF struck a key factory used to produce Iranian terror regime air defence systems.

The strike significantly degrades the Iranian terror regime's ability to rehabilitate its aerial defence array.

These strikes are part of the ongoing efforts focused on deepening the damage to the Iranian terror regime’s core assets,” the military added.

Israel says it killed two senior intelligence officials in Tehran strikes

Israel’s military said on Saturday it carried out a targeted strike in Tehran on Friday that killed two senior intelligence officials from Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters (KACH), the unified combatant command headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces.

According to the Israeli Air Force, the operation targeted Abdollah Jalali-Nasab and Amir Shariat, described as senior figures in the intelligence organization of the KACH. The military said the two men were “eliminated” in what it called a precise strike inside the Iranian capital.

The two officials had recently been appointed after the killing of Saleh Asadi, the deputy intelligence chief, during the opening phase of Israel’s operation dubbed “Roaring Lion.”

Israeli officials said Jalali-Nasab and Shariat were considered high-ranking intelligence commanders and key figures within Iran’s intelligence community.

Trump vows to reopen Hormuz Strait soon, says many allies will send warships

In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump said nations affected by disruptions in the strait—including China, France, Japan, South Korea and the United Kingdom—should also send naval forces to the area “in conjunction with the United States” to ensure the waterway remains open and secure.

“Many Countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships… to keep the Strait open and safe,” Trump wrote.

Trump said the United States had already destroyed “100% of Iran’s military capability,” but warned that Iran could still attempt limited attacks using drones, mines or short-range missiles along the strategic waterway through which a significant portion of the world’s oil shipments pass.

He said Washington would continue military operations along Iran’s southern coastline to prevent further threats to shipping.

“In the meantime, the United States will be bombing the hell out of the shoreline, and continually shooting Iranian Boats and Ships out of the water,” Trump wrote.

"One way or the other, we will soon get the Hormuz Strait OPEN, SAFE, and FREE!"

Trump dismisses reports US aircraft were destroyed in Saudi Arabia

US President Donald Trump dismissed reports by The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times that US refueling tanker aircraft were destroyed in a strike in Saudi Arabia, saying on Saturday that none of the planes had been lost.

Trump said in a post on Truth Social that the base had been hit a few days earlier, but the aircraft were not struck or destroyed.

“Four of the five had virtually no damage, and are already back in service. One had slightly more damage but will be in the air shortly. None were destroyed, or close to that, as the Fake News said in headlines,” he wrote.

Trump accused the two newspapers and other media outlets of misleading reporting on the incident.

“Their terrible reporting is the exact opposite of the actual facts! They are truly sick and demented people that have no idea the damage they cause the United States of America,” the US president said.

Police Drones in Haiti Have Killed More Than 1,000 People

Mar 14, 2026 8:15 AM EDT

With all eyes on West Asia as the US and Israel unleash devastating air strikes on Iran, another deadly conflict is already well underway: the political crisis in Haiti.

According to a new report by Human Rights Watch and flagged by ABC News, drones controlled by Haitian security forces and private military contracts have killed at least 1,243 people between March 1, 2025 and January 21, 2026.

Though the ongoing drone attacks are said to be part of a protracted campaign to reign in gang activity, there are at least 17 children counted among the dead, as well as 43 adults who are confirmed to have been civilian non-combatants.

As the chaos of the skirmishes has mostly unfolded over the densely populated capital of Port-au-Prince, the number of innocent victims is only likely to increase — both as civil society groups gain a fuller accounting of the civilian dead, and as further violence rocks the Caribbean city.

Since 2025, Human Rights Watch found, authorities in Haiti or their mercenaries have resorted to using manually-operated quadcopter drones equipped with explosives to target suspected militants.

A reported 139 armed drone attacks have taken place over the past year, the most lethal of which claimed 57 lives.

“Dozens of ordinary people, including many children, have been killed and injured in these lethal drone operations,” said Juanita Goebertus, Americas director at Human Rights Watch in the report.

“Haitian authorities should urgently rein in the security forces and private contractors working for them before more children die.”

Per the report, evidence shows Haitian police repeatedly attacking vehicles as well as groups of people with suicide drones.

While some of the targets of these attacks are armed, Human Rights Watch found no evidence of drone attacks on people that pose an immediate threat to civilian lives.

“These videos bolster the impression that many of the drone attacks are attempts to target and extrajudicially kill people, rather than a law enforcement response that might justify the deliberate, lethal use of force,” the report reads.

Since August of 2025, Blackwater founder and prominent Donald Trump donor Erik Prince has helped deploy hundreds of private mercenaries to Haiti, Al Jazeera has reported.

In addition to supplying personnel, Prince has acted as a key advisor to the drone assassination task force responsible for the devastation, which has drawn condemnations from human rights groups for suspected violations of international law.

Blackwater is a private military company responsible for the Nisour Square Massacre in Iraq, a shooting which left 17 civilians dead. (The four contractors responsible were pardoned by Trump during his first stint in the Oval Office.)

Evidently, Prince is now exporting that same carnage to Haiti — this time with drones — furthering a history of heavy-handed US meddling in the affairs of the beleaguered Caribbean nation.

South African leader defends army deployment in crime-hit areas

Updated 14 Mar, 2026 13:15

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has said the deployment of the military is already helping restore stability in affected communities, but a permanent army presence will be costly.

Speaking in the National Assembly at the Nieuwmeester Dome, Ramaphosa said the deployment of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) in five provinces is assisting police and has been welcomed by communities.

He was responding to a question from Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) MP Nhlanhla Hadebe about the safety improvements he expects from the deployment.

Ramaphosa said the SANDF was being used as a “force multiplier” to support the South African Police Service (SAPS) in addressing several crime challenges, including gangsterism in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Gauteng, as well as illicit mining in Gauteng and the North West Province.

”The SANDF deployment is necessary to complement the efforts of the SAPS in tackling these crimes and bringing stability to our communities,” Ramaphosa told MPs.

He said soldiers are operating under police command with clear rules of engagement and for specific, time-limited objectives.

”The army may be called on by the police to provide protection in high-risk areas or operations, or to support cordon-and-search operations and roadblocks against armed criminals,” Ramaphosa said.

Soldier may also secure critical infrastructure, freeing police officers to focus on investigations. Ramaphosa rejected suggestions that the deployment indicates a failure by police.

”That is not the case. We are getting the police and the army to work together to handle the challenges our people are facing,” he said.

He added that the deployment will take place alongside other measures, including strengthening anti-gang units and illegal mining task teams.

Police will also work with the National Prosecuting Authority in multidisciplinary operations aimed at targeting the leadership, finances and weapons networks linked to organised crime.

”Through this support, we aim to achieve a significant reduction in serious and violent crime in targeted areas, with the neutralisation of gang violence and illicit mining,” Ramaphosa said.

The deployment is being implemented gradually as the defence force moves into identified areas. Ramaphosa said the presence of soldiers has already been welcomed by residents.

”Where they become present, there is stability. We want to instil that stability and rid areas of criminality on a permanent basis,” he said.

He added that the deployment is for a specific timeframe and may be extended if necessary. Ramaphosa said public perceptions of the military have changed over time.

”In the past, whenever soldiers were deployed it created fear because they were seen as trained only to shoot and kill.

Now our defence force has developed capabilities to serve communities, build bridges, rescue people in danger and support the police,” he said.

He also pointed to the military’s role during the 2021 South African unrest, when troops helped stabilise affected areas.

During the State of the Nation Address 2026, Ramaphosa announced that the SANDF would be deployed to provinces with high crime rates, including Gauteng, the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape.

Earlier this week, soldiers working with SAPS officers conducted raids in Eldorado Park, Riverlea, Westbury and Sophiatown, searching for contraband, illegal weapons and other criminal activity.

A total of 550 SANDF members began their deployment in Gauteng on Wednesday as part of Operation Prosper, a joint operation with SAPS aimed at combating illegal mining and organised criminal networks.

The deployment is expected to cost more than R80 million.

Joint Interagency Task Force Spearheads Contract, Unifies Drone Defenses

March 13, 2026

To counter the rapidly evolving threat from hostile unmanned aircraft systems, Joint Interagency Task Force 401 has championed a groundbreaking enterprise-level agreement to provide a cutting-edge command-and-control solution through a strategic action.

Awarded by Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, the initiative directly addresses the critical interoperability challenge that has hampered joint and interagency counter-unmanned aircraft system operations.

By establishing a common technological backbone, this agreement paves the way for an integrated, multilayered defense network that will allow warfighters and federal agents to seamlessly share data, coordinate responses and neutralize threats faster and more effectively.

"This is a decisive move against a pervasive and growing threat; we are breaking down the hurdles that have limited our effectiveness in the [counter]-UAS fight," said Army Col. Tony Lindh, task force deputy director of acquisitions.

"This agreement provides common air domain awareness through a proven [command and control] platform — Lattice — allowing us to build a cohesive, agile and formidable defensive ecosystem.

For the first time, we have a clear path to true interoperability across the [War] Department and our interagency partners."

The agreement signals a fundamental shift in the government's approach to acquiring critical software-defined capabilities.

Rather than managing dozens of disparate contracts, this single enterprise vehicle allows for rapid procurement and deployment of counter-UAS technology where it is needed most, ensuring the U.S. maintains a decisive advantage.

By centralizing procurement under one $20 billion vehicle, the government will gain a unified tracking point for all related acquisitions, reduce duplicative purchases, minimize dormant procurements and achieve greater pricing transparency and cost savings.

"Based on our testing and evaluation, it became clear that a common command and control system is needed to effectively counter adversary drones.

These results were confirmed during my visit to Ukraine, when I saw firsthand how drones have changed the modern battlefield," said Army Brig. Gen. Matt Ross, task force director.

"It ensures that our operators, agents and allies have immediate access to the best-in-class tools needed to defeat the UAS threat. We are cutting through red tape and delivering top-tier technology to our warfighters at the speed of relevance."

Eerie timeline emerges in disappearance of Air Force general tied to UFO programs and Area 51-era research

Updated: 16:29 EDT, 13 March 2026

It has been weeks since a retired Air Force general who has been linked to UFO programs went missing from his New Mexico home.

William 'Neil' McCasland, 68, was last seen around 11am on February 27 near Quail Run Court NE in Albuquerque, during a one-hour window while his wife left the house.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) released a new timeline Thursday describing his last known movements.

McCasland was speaking with a home repairman at 10am, and his wife, Susan McCasland Wilkerson, left the home about one hour and 10 minutes later.

At approximately 12.04pm, Susan returned to an empty house, finding her husband's phone, prescription glasses and wearable devices were left behind.

However, hiking boots and a .38-caliber revolver were missing. Susan then reported McCasland missing at 3.07pm, and BCSO jumped on the case.

Investigators believe he may have left the home on foot, and search teams later discovered a US Air Force sweatshirt roughly one mile from the residence, though officials have not confirmed whether it belonged to McCasland.

McCasland, a veteran of Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico, previously led both the Phillips Research Site and the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson in Ohio, rumored to hold extraterrestrial debris tied to the 1947 Roswell crash.

Some UFO enthusiasts have linked those facilities to secret studies of advanced aerospace technology and unexplained phenomena, though officials maintain they focus on national security and experimental defense projects.

'While there is currently no evidence indicating foul play, investigators are examining all available information as the case remains active,' the sheriff's office said in a statement.

Authorities are urging residents near the McCaslands' neighborhood to check security camera footage from February 27 and 28, especially between 9am and 2pm, and contact investigators if they find any video or information that could help the search.

He is described as five feet 11 inches tall with white hair and blue eyes.

Because several of his personal items were left behind, investigators are trying to determine whether he left voluntarily or encountered trouble shortly after leaving his home.

McCasland is known as an avid outdoorsman who frequently hiked, ran and cycled in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights and the nearby Sandia Foothills, an area of rugged desert terrain that has become a focal point of the search effort.

Investigators are also urging hikers who may have worn GoPro cameras or recorded cellphone video in the Sandia Foothills to check their footage for anything that might show McCasland.

Search efforts have been extensive, with dozens of volunteers and law enforcement officers searching the area on foot and horseback while drones, helicopters and specialized search dogs combed the terrain.

Authorities issued a Silver Alert for McCasland, though his family says he does not suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

A Silver Alert is a public notification system used to locate missing seniors or individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other medical conditions.

His family has pushed back on speculation that his former access to classified programs could be linked to his disappearance, noting that he retired from the military nearly 13 years ago.

McCasland's name became associated with UFO topics after the 2016 WikiLeaks release of emails from John Podesta, Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman.

In the emails, musician Tom DeLonge, founder of Blink-182 and the UFO-focused To The Stars Academy (TTSA), referenced McCasland multiple times, claiming he had advised him on disclosure matters and helped assemble an advisory team.

DeLonge also suggested on a podcast that he was being advised by McCasland and several named and unnamed insiders to carry out a slow disclosure of UAP information to the American public from US government or contractor sources.

An email tied McCasland to Wright-Patterson, alleging he oversaw the lab where Roswell materials were supposedly sent, and scheduling emails showed a planned meeting with DeLonge, Podesta, and someone signing as 'Neil McC,' consistent with McCasland.

These claims come from DeLonge and have not been confirmed by McCasland or official records.

There is no public evidence that he participated in UFO crash retrievals, reverse-engineering of non-human technology, or classified extraterrestrial programs.

McCasland's documented work focused on advanced aerospace research, which has fueled speculation about experimental propulsion and unidentified phenomena in defense circles.

Trump's UFO Files: Ex-Pentagon Official Reveals What to Expect From Documents That May Soon Be Made Public

Updated Mar 14, 2026, 23:37 IST

Christopher Mellon, a former senior Pentagon official, claims the files include a vast collection of extraordinary material, such as satellite imagery and previously withheld military videos that could reshape public perception of unidentified aerial phenomena.

However, Mellon does not expect the release to confirm alien contact.

Two weeks ago, President Donald Trump ordered Secretary of War Pete Hegseth to direct the release of government files related to UFOs, aliens, and what Trump described on Truth Social as "all other information connected to" the "highly complex" subject matter.

Federal agencies, including the White House and the Pentagon, have been scrambling since. No official word has come on what exactly will be released, or when. But a former senior Pentagon official who has seen some of what's in those files says the material is extraordinary.

What the Files Reportedly Contain

Christopher Mellon served as deputy assistant secretary of defense intelligence under both the Clinton and Bush administrations.

According to a report from New York Post, he said that the government's collection of UFO-related material is massive, photos, videos, radar imagery, and that publicly releasing it would shift the conversation in ways most people aren't prepared for.

The most compelling material, Mellon said, is satellite imagery. "We have satellite imagery of craft that sure don't look like anything that we have built or constructed," he said.

Those same images, showing craft carrying out maneuvers that are difficult to explain by any known human technology, were referenced by then-director of national intelligence John Ratcliffe in a 2021 Fox News interview. Ratcliffe is now CIA director.

The Videos That Were Withheld

Mellon was one of the key figures behind the 2017 release of three now-famous military radar recordings, the "Tic Tac," "GOFAST," and "Gimbal" videos, which showed unidentified aerial phenomena behaving in ways that defied conventional explanation.

Those recordings changed the public conversation about UAPs permanently. He says there are more just like them sitting on government hard drives.

"There's a significant number of videos from the same sources that were judged unclassified in 2018, gun cameras on F18s, Forward Looking Infrared Radar videos, that have been withheld from the public," Mellon said.

"I know there are because I've seen some of them. And there's no rational reason that I can think of why those videos are being withheld."

What This Release Won't Include

Mellon is not expecting the files to contain confirmation of alien contact or proof of communication with extraterrestrial civilisations.

The provocative satellite imagery and the withheld military videos are one thing. Documents proving humanity has made contact with alien life are another, and he does not anticipate those appearing in whatever gets released.

Which Agencies Are Sitting on Files

According to Mellon, the relevant material is spread across multiple agencies.

The Department of War, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Department of Energy, and the National Nuclear Security Administration all hold UFO-related files that would fall under Trump's disclosure order.

Getting all of them to hand over sensitive material is, he said, an "unnatural act" for organisations built around secrecy. "I have a feeling bureaucracy is going to react slowly and I don't think they're gonna put the best stuff out quickly, if they do at all," Mellon said.

"Congressional vigilance is needed to ensure a thorough and effective process," he added.

Weird, they used the same video from the New York sighting a couple days ago.

UFO, Unexplained Objects In Banning, Yucaipa Night Sky, Spark Questions In The IE: Did You See It?

Updated Fri, Mar 13, 2026 at 4:41 pm PT

BANNING, CA — A Banning resident was stargazing this week when he noticed three strange lights in the sky. He wasn't the only one. Several Yucaipa-area residents also saw objects moving high and fast in the sky in an inexplicable way.

First, thinking they were drones, he watched them. Then, he recorded them. Now, questioning whether we are alone in the universe, he asked neighbors in a social media group. Their answers may surprise you. (See the video below)

It was about 9 p.m. Thursday when Victor Ruiz was relaxing on his patio, staring at the night sky. "I was next to my fire pit when I saw something fast darting across the sky," he told Patch. "First, I thought it was a shooting star, as it was really bright."

Then, he saw there were actually four separate lights.

"It almost looked as if it had split up into pieces," he told us. That's when he grabbed his phone to zoom in and see the anomaly more closely. "

The lights were making slow, then fast and random movements, changing directions very quickly," Ruiz said. "Eventually, I lost them behind the clouds."

He stayed outside another 20 minutes before it got too cold, his neck craned, staring at the sky, seeking any further view of the lights.

He went to social media to ask friends and neighbors what they thought. The reaction was mixed, and he knows even fewer people would believe it without the video.

One commenter shared several possible "logical" explanations for his sighting, ranging from a NASA satellite reentering the atmosphere to supersonic testing.

Two people in the Yucapia area saw something in the sky they couldn't explain the same night.

One described where he was when he witnessed a similar incident: "I saw something to the north east of Bryant Street and Oak Glen Road, in the Yucaipa/Oak Glen area. Interesting."

Another suggested they saw something odd in the Yucaipa sky. "We were at the DQ for ice cream, and saw something too low to be a plane but decent in size. It disappeared fast, and freaked me out," she said. "Good to know others have seen this too."

When commenters suggested the sighting was drones, Ruiz shared that he is a drone pilot. "I fly drones, but they definitely don't look like this." He suggests that drones can go up to about 1,600 feet if you remove the restrictions.

Another commenter saw the video and made a judgment call.

"I'm thinking it is UFOs. I think it would be arrogant to assume we are The Only Living Creatures, Humans in the WHOLE UNEXPLORED GALAXY. I believe it's possible!!"

Regardless of whether people believe he saw something, Ruiz likes that he's gotten people talking. He's lived in Banning for about six years now, and everywhere else he's called home has had too much light to see the stars.

"I do star gaze more often in this area," he said. "This is the first time seeing anything like this, let alone recording it. I've always wanted to see a UFO, to see if it was a real thing, and was excited when my time came."

What do you think?

The National UFO Reporting Center has cataloged UFO sightings since 1974, and since then, well over 17,000 sightings have been reported in the Golden State.

With more data points than ever, they are helping to debunk or acknowledge that sightings are unexplained and unexplainable… for now.

Of the reported incidents, the center explains many as planes, rocket launches, Starlink Satellites, Drones or even "space junk." Still, that leaves plenty of California sightings that remain question marks, according to the center.

If you're uncertain whether you've seen a UFO, the National UFO database offers some suggestions that may explain your questions. Otherwise, share your experience. After all, the truth is out there!

Did the Creator of Star Trek Try to Contact Aliens? | The Roddenberry Tapes (Part 1)

Mar 13, 2026

Most people know Gene Roddenberry as the creator of Star Trek - a visionary who imagined humanity exploring the galaxy and encountering alien civilizations.

But very few people know that in the 1970s, Roddenberry became involved in a series of real-life psychic experiments attempting to communicate with a mysterious group of entities known only as “The Nine.”

These sessions, conducted with psychic medium Phyllis Schlemmer and Parapsychologist Andrija Puharich, produced dozens of hours of recorded conversations with something claiming to represent a group of ancient intelligences connected to the origins of humanity.

Roddenberry attended several of these session - and the experience inspired a script he later wrote about the phenomenon.

In this video, we begin exploring the strange story behind The Roddenberry Tapes, the people involved, and the recordings that still exist today.

Did these sessions produce something truly profound? Or was it all an elaborate, decades long hoax?

This is Part 1 of a series exploring the archival recordings and documents connected to these sessions.

Bigfoot 'Flap' Reported in Northeast Ohio

Mar. 11, 2026 at 10:34pm

Six alleged Bigfoot sightings in four days spark cryptid speculation in Portage County

A series of social media posts from a cryptid-focused podcast has ignited speculation about widespread Bigfoot sightings in northeast Ohio, with enthusiasts pointing to what they describe as a concentrated burst of activity in the Mantua and Garrettsville areas southeast of Cleveland.

The Bigfoot Society, a podcast and online community, says it has received six separate reports of alleged Bigfoot encounters between March 6 and March 10 in wooded areas in the region.

Why it matters

Bigfoot sightings are relatively common across the United States, but a cluster of multiple reported encounters in a small geographic area over a short period is considered unusual and potentially indicative of increased cryptid activity.

The reports have generated excitement within the Bigfoot research community, which is eager to investigate further and potentially uncover new evidence of the elusive creature's existence.

The details

According to the Bigfoot Society, the reported encounters include alleged sightings of a nine-foot-tall, brown-haired Sasquatch, as well as other details about the creature's appearance and behavior.

However, the group has not released any photographs, video, or independently verified physical evidence to corroborate the claims.

Nonetheless, the podcast host described the cluster of sightings as a possible "flap" event, a term used in cryptozoology to refer to multiple sightings within a short time span.

The reported sightings occurred between March 6 and March 10, 2026.

The Bigfoot Society received the six separate reports during this four-day period.

The players

The Bigfoot Society

A podcast and online community dedicated to collecting eyewitness accounts of Sasquatch encounters.

Jeremiah Byron

The host of the Bigfoot Society Podcast, who spoke to Fox 8 about the reported sightings.

What they’re saying

“It's normal for there to be Bigfoot sightings all over the United States, but it's not normal to have multiple sightings in a small area within a short number of days.”

— Jeremiah Byron, Host, Bigfoot Society Podcast (Fox 8)

“So, if you're in this area, keep your eyes open and maybe your doors locked because there could be a Bigfoot in the same general vicinity.”

— Bigfoot Society Poster (Bigfoot Society)

What’s next

The Bigfoot Society has urged residents in Portage County to remain vigilant and report any additional sightings or evidence to the group.

The podcast host indicated that the community is eager to investigate the reports further and potentially uncover new evidence of Bigfoot's existence.
