A new phase of the Iranian war has begun – drone strikes against IRGC and Basij units are taking place at the street level.

HOLY SMOKES: Drone Strikes Are Now Targeting IRGC Police Units at Street Level

March 13, 2026 by Joe Hoft

This is amazing. The Iranian people are helping identify where IRGC checkpoints and vehicles are located, and they are being blown away by US and Israeli drones.

Less than a week ago, it was reported that a Baij checkpoint was hit by Israeli drones.

The Basij is widely used by the Iranian government for internal security and protest control.

Israeli officials have previously confirmed strikes on Basij bases and internal security command centers across Tehran during the current campaign.

Some reports circulating online claim that Iranians opposed to the regime are feeding checkpoint locations to Israeli intelligence in real time, allowing rapid targeting of security positions.

We are now seeing the results.

A Basij checkpoint has been obliterated. At least ten checkpoints like this were attacked overnight.

• Intelligence suggests Iranian civilians are helping identify checkpoints and regime hideouts.

• The Basij are the regime’s street-level enforcers used to suppress the population.

President Trump warned the Iranians what is coming next, and now it’s here.

FT Report: France and Italy Quietly Seek Deal With Iran to Safeguard Shipping Through Hormuz

by Robert Semonsen Mar. 13, 2026

Europe’s energy anxieties have surged to the forefront of international politics as tensions in the Persian Gulf threaten one of the most critical arteries of the global economy: the Strait of Hormuz.

In recent days, France and Italy have quietly opened diplomatic contacts with Iran in an attempt to secure safe passage for European commercial vessels through the strategic waterway.

The discussions, first reported by the Financial Times, underscore the growing concern among European governments that prolonged instability in the region could trigger severe economic consequences.

The Strait of Hormuz isn’t just another shipping route. It is the narrow maritime corridor through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil and a similar share of liquefied natural gas passes each day.

When traffic through this chokepoint slows or stops, the ripple effects are felt almost immediately across global markets.

European officials say the current outreach to Tehran is aimed at restoring at least partial shipping flows while avoiding a broader regional escalation. But even those involved in the discussions admit there is no certainty that Iran will agree to any arrangement guaranteeing free navigation.

The urgency of the situation is obvious. Oil prices have surged toward the $100-per-barrel mark, threatening to spike even further, while European natural gas prices have climbed dramatically since the crisis erupted.

For governments already grappling with inflation and sluggish economic growth, the prospect of a prolonged disruption in Gulf energy flows is deeply alarming.

Energy security has long been one of Europe’s most vulnerable strategic weaknesses. Despite years of rhetoric about diversification and green transition, the continent remains heavily dependent on external energy supplies.

That vulnerability becomes painfully clear whenever instability threatens the global transport routes that deliver those resources.

Central banks are watching the situation closely. Energy price spikes have historically been one of the fastest ways to trigger inflation and force policymakers into difficult decisions on interest rates. For European economies already burdened by high public debt and fragile growth, another energy shock could prove extremely painful.

Yet the diplomatic response within Europe remains fragmented.

While France and Italy have chosen to pursue direct discussions with Iran, other European governments remain skeptical about engaging Tehran directly.

Britain, for example, has not opened talks with Iranian officials regarding shipping guarantees in the strait. Instead, British authorities are focusing on consultations with Gulf states to secure alternative energy supplies.

Peter Schweizer Exposes China’s Birth Tourism Industry Creating Army of U.S. Citizens Raised Under Communist Influence During Powerful Senate Testimony

by Cassandra MacDonald Mar. 13, 2026

During his testimony before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, investigative journalist and Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer exposed the alarming scale of China’s birth tourism operations targeting the United States.

Schweizer revealed during Tuesday’s hearing, titled “Protecting American Citizenship: Birthright Citizenship for Illegal Aliens and Tourists,” that over 1,000 birth tourism companies in China are almost exclusively focused on facilitating births in America, potentially resulting in up to 1 million U.S. citizens being raised in the People’s Republic of China.

Schweizer, author of the book The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon, described birth tourism as an “industrial-scale” operation where Chinese nationals pay up to $100,000 for concierge services.

These services include travel arrangements, medical care, and logistical support to ensure their children are born on U.S. soil, thereby granting them automatic citizenship under the 14th Amendment.

“In China alone, we have identified more than 1,000 birth tourism companies that are almost exclusively focused on the United States,” Schweizer stated.

Schweizer cited Chinese government estimates of about 50,000 such births annually, though other sources suggest figures as high as 100,000 or even 180,000 in peak years like 2018.

Doing the math, Schweizer warned, “You are looking at roughly 1 million ‘U.S. citizens’ who are being raised in the People’s Republic of China today.”

This practice exploits U.S. birthright citizenship laws, allowing children born here to later sponsor family members through chain migration and even vote in American elections, potentially from abroad via mail-in ballots.

Birth tourism involves pregnant foreign nationals traveling to the U.S. specifically to give birth, securing citizenship for their children.

While the practice is not illegal per se, it circumvents immigration processes and has been criticized for demeaning naturalization. The U.S. does not track parental nationalities for births, making precise data scarce, but estimates indicate it’s a multi-billion-dollar industry.

China has companies advertising services in Mandarin and targeting affluent families. Women often enter on B-1/B-2 visas, misrepresenting their intent or using loopholes like visa-waiver programs in U.S. territories.

For instance, the Northern Mariana Islands (including Saipan) allow visa-free entry for Chinese nationals under the Guam-CNMI Visa Waiver Program, leading to a surge in births there, nearly 600 in 2018 alone, outnumbering local births.

After birth, mothers and their babies typically return to China, where the children are raised until they can leverage their U.S. citizenship for education, jobs, or family reunification.

Schweizer highlighted national security risks, noting that these citizens, indoctrinated in China, could undermine U.S. sovereignty as part of a broader “asymmetric warfare” strategy by the Chinese Communist Party.

Associated Press images meanwhile showed a column of smoke rising over the embassy compound in the Iraqi capital and a fire at the Fujairah port, offering confirmation.

President Trump had said late Friday that the US military "obliterated" targets on Iran’s Kharg Island, home to the primary terminal handling the country's oil exports.

Additionally, an American official said 2,500 additional Marines and an amphibious assault ship are heading to the Middle East - though it remains unclear on if they will actually enter the strait, or what their mission will ultimately be.

Oil Drillers Resort To Trucks As Key California Pipeline Idled

By Nathan Risser Bloomberg March 14, 2026

Mar 13, 2026 (Bloomberg) –Oil drillers in central California have resorted to the costly and cumbersome alternative of trucking crude barrels 50 miles after the shut down of a refinery and idling of a key pipeline cut off outlets for their products.

Up to 35,000 barrels a day of oil used to flow north from California’s once-prolific Kern oil field to refineries in the San Francisco Bay area on a pipeline operated by Crimson Midstream LLC. The San Pablo Bay Pipeline has been empty since December, however, after one of the key buyers — Valero Energy Corp’s Benicia refinery — prepared to process its final barrel of crude and started shuttering operations in February.

The bottleneck has created a regional glut and is squeezing margins for California oil producers. This comes at a time when Governor Gavin Newsom prepares for a potential presidential bid with an electorate concerned about the cost of living and as oil and gas prices spike nationally because of the war in Iran. Californians pay the highest pump price in the nation, an issue in part compounded by refinery closures spurred by years of what the industry views as hostile regulator policy.

About half of the displaced crude is being sent on an alternate line, but most of the remainder is being put on trucks in eastern Kern County and driven 50 miles to Pentland Station to be shipped on a pipeline to refineries in and around Los Angeles.

Crimson has been spending at least $3 million a month to keep open the option to ship crude on the pipeline. It has promised California’s energy regulator that the conduit would remain viable through at least the end of March, parent company CorEnergy Infrastructure Trust CEO Robert Waldron said in an interview. “If someone calls up tomorrow I could ship oil,” Waldron said.

Nearly 100 trucks a day are making the 100 mile round-trip journey to Pentland Station, according to oil driller E&B Natural Resources President Steve Layton, whose company is responsible for about a third of the oil being sent by road.

“It’s like being in a gymnasium and there’s two exits rather than three and there’s a fire alarm,” Layton said.

The bottleneck is part of a “collapsing infrastructure,” caused by state policy and refinery closures, said California Independent Petroleum President Rock Zierman.

It has also created an artificial oversupply in the region, pushing Kern crude to a $10 discount to Brent, the global benchmark, while producers pay up to $10 per barrel for trucking — severely squeezing margins.

The expensive trucking workaround also comes as US President Donald Trump announces plans to invoke an emergency law to boost drilling at a major oil project off the coast of California as the war in Iran roils the global oil market. The state’s refineries are heavily-reliant on Middle Eastern oil, with California last year importing more Middle Eastern oil than any other state despite being home to a dwindling number of refineries.

Newsom last year signed legislation aimed at bolstering oil production onshore in California, a move seen helping to moderate his approach on energy issues.

He also instructed his chief energy regulator Siva Gunda to work closely with refiners to ensure affordable and reliable fuel supplies. Since then, two refineries slated for closure have shut down and remaining fuel markers are up in arms over an emissions regulation proposal by the California Air Resources Board that they say would raise costs and push the industry to the brink of collapse.

“The California Energy Commission continues to engage in conversations with market players about how to enhance the efficiency and resiliency of the petroleum market in California, including through infrastructure and transportation upgrades,” the CEC said in a statement.

Whether Kern oil once again flows freely hinges on one of California’s few remaining refinery’s appetite for local crude. PBF Energy’s Martinez refinery, across the water from the recently shuttered Valero Benicia, hasn’t bought crude in meaningful quantities off the San Pablo Bay Pipeline since May 2025.

U.S. Boosts LNG Exports From Plaquemines as Hormuz Crisis Threatens Global Gas Supply

Mike Schuler March 14, 2026

The U.S. Department of Energy has approved an immediate increase in liquefied natural gas exports from Venture Global’s Plaquemines LNG terminal in Louisiana, moving to bolster global gas supplies as escalating conflict in the Middle East threatens energy flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

Energy Secretary Chris Wright authorized an additional 0.45 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of LNG exports to non-free trade agreement (non-FTA) countries from the facility, representing a 13% increase in export capacity.

With the new authorization, Plaquemines LNG is now permitted to export up to 3.85 Bcf/d of natural gas to global markets.

The move comes as maritime attacks and security threats tied to the escalating U.S.–Israel conflict with Iran have severely disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint that carries roughly 20% of global LNG trade.

“At a time when Iran and its terrorist proxies attempt to disrupt the global energy supply, the Trump Administration remains committed to strengthening American energy dominance,” Wright said in a statement.

Last year, the U.S. became the first nation to export more than 100 million metric tons of LNG in a single year. According to preliminary data, the country sold 111 million metric tons in 2025—almost 20 million metric tons more than Qatar.

Analysts have warned that any prolonged disruption to LNG shipments from the Persian Gulf—particularly from Qatar, one of the world’s largest exporters—could tighten global gas markets and trigger a surge in demand for alternative suppliers such as the United States and Australia.

The Plaquemines LNG facility began operations in late December 2024 and delivered 16.4 million metric tons in 2025 after a rapid ramp-up. The latest authorization allows the terminal to immediately increase shipments to countries without U.S. free trade agreements, which account for the majority of LNG imports globally.

Officials say the new Plaquemines authorization could help offset potential disruptions to global energy markets as tensions escalate in the Middle East.

“Our mission to enable secure, reliable, and affordable energy has never been more important than now,” said Kyle Haustveit, Assistant Secretary of the Hydrocarbons and Geothermal Energy Office. “This action will make an immediate difference by helping add to global LNG supplies.”

The announcement underscores the growing role of U.S. LNG exports as a strategic energy buffer for global markets increasingly exposed to geopolitical shocks—from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to the current conflict threatening shipping through the Persian Gulf.

Even the Left Is Tired Of Her: Ilhan Omar Gets Major Primary Challenge From Anti-ICE Lawyer

by C. Douglas Golden, The Western Journal Mar. 13, 2026

“Former Assistant Chief Counsel at the Department of Homeland Security and former Special Assistant United States Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office, Julie T. Le has witnessed firsthand the failures of our broken immigration system,” her campaign website reads.

“Now she’s running for Congress to fight for real reform — and to fight for quality education and accessible healthcare for all families … Her vision is clear: Inspire Unity — a government that works for everyone, bringing people together to solve our greatest challenges through comprehensive immigration reform, education funding, and accessible healthcare for all families.”

“Julie’s campaign is centered on immigration reform that balances border security with a fair pathway to citizenship for those who contribute to society,” a media release from Le’s campaign said, according to Minnesota Public Radio.

Of course, this whole run wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the fact that Le effectively crashed out of public service during a Feb. 3 hearing in which she had what could charitably be described as an — ahem — episode.

Telling the judge that she had “stupidly” accepted the assignment with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota, she all but begged the judge to penalize her so she could get a mental health day:

“Sometime I wish you would just hold me in contempt, your honor, so that I can have full 24 hours of sleep,” she said.

“What do you want me to do? The system sucks. This job sucks,” she added.

Le was quickly removed from the detail, according to the New York Post.

“The individual was a probationary attorney. This conduct is unprofessional and unbecoming of an ICE attorney in abandoning her obligation to act with commitment, dedication, and zeal to the interests of the United States Government,” said then-Department of Homeland Security assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin.

Unprofessional and unbecoming? Well, the next step was clearly Congress, where that’s not only acceptable, but encouraged on the left.

And what’s more, she looks positively reasonable compared to the woman who currently holds the seat.

Le told The New York Times that “she would be a more moderate lawmaker than Ms. Omar, who has called for abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

Of course, anyone to the right of the corpse of Fidel Castro could be perceived as more moderate than Omar, a virulent anti-Semite and firebrand who also happens to appear corrupt as all get-out and has been plausibly accused of committing immigration fraud by entering into a marriage of convenience with a man sources have claimed is her brother.

And while Omar has the advantage of fundraising and the support of the Somali community in the district, it’s worth noting that she’s faced other tough challenges since she was first elected in 2018.

A 2022 Democratic primary against small-fry state politician Don Samuels ended in a narrow victory for the incumbent “squad” member, 50.3 to 48.2 percent.
