Iran-linked hackers just wiped over 200,000 devices at Stryker Corporation, a $25 billion medical technology giant, across 79 countries. They didn’t use malware. They didn’t exploit a zero-day. They logged into Stryker’s own Microsoft Intune admin console with stolen credentials and pressed the remote wipe button. Surgical supply orders stopped. Paramedics in Maryland lost the ability to transmit EKGs to hospitals. 5,000 workers in Ireland were sent home

Report: Israel warns US it is running dangerously low on interceptors

Officials tell Semafor that Israel had already entered the current war with limited interceptor supplies after using significant numbers during last summer’s fighting with Iran

Israel has informed the United States that it is running critically low on ballistic missile interceptors as its conflict with Iran continues, according to U.S. officials cited by Semafor.

“It’s something we expected and anticipated,” the official said.

The official stressed that the United States itself is not facing a similar shortage of interceptors, even as analysts and some policymakers have raised concerns about the potential strain on U.S. stockpiles if the conflict with Iran becomes prolonged.

It remains unclear whether Washington would sell or transfer additional interceptor systems to Israel. The United States has included missile defense systems in previous military aid packages to Israel, though doing so could place additional pressure on U.S. inventories.

Obedient and stupid’: Iran blasts Australia as three soccer players reverse asylum claim

Iran has lashed out at Australia, branding our nation “obedient and stupid” following a huge update in the Iranian soccer team saga.

Iran has slammed Australia as an “obedient and stupid presence in Trump’s playground” after three more soccer team members reversed their asylum claims and opted to return home to the war zone.

Iran is claiming a propaganda victory after three more members of the country’s women’s national football delegation backflipped on a decision to seek asylum.

Iranian outlets aligned with the regime say two more players and a support staff member — Mona Hamoudi, Zahra Sarbali, and Zahra Meshkinkar — opted to return home overnight.

In a post published by the Tasnim News Agency, a media organisation closely aligned with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iranian officials framed the decision as a patriotic rejection of Western influence.

The statement said in full:

“The disgraceful failure of the American-Australian project and another failure for Trump,” the statement said.

“Mona Hamoudi, Zahra Sarbali and Zahra Meshkinkar, two players and a member of the technical staff of the national women’s football team, have withdrawn their asylum application in Australia and are currently leaving for Malaysia and returning to the warm embrace of their family and homeland.

“This is while previously, Mohaddeseh Zolfi, another player of our country’s national women’s football team, with her heart for the homeland and the Iranian flag, rejected the offer to stay in Australia and decided to return to Iran.

"The national spirit and patriotism of the Iranian women’s national football team girls defeated the enemy’s plans against this team, which had been widely reflected in the hostile media with numerous projections.”

Rising AI costs force Meta to slash workforce by 20%: report

Meta is planning to carry out sweeping layoffs of about 20 percent of its workforce as AI costs have increased, according to a report from Reuters. The sweeping layoffs are a move to offset the cost of AI as the company is implementing artificial intelligence infrastructure in the tech giant's workflows.

The outlet reported that a date has not been finalized for the cuts and that the figure could change, and cited three sources familiar with the matter. Top executives have signaled to senior managers that they will need to plan on how to scale back on labor costs. Meta responded to the report, saying, "This is speculative reporting about theoretical approaches."

If Meta were to lay off 20 percent of its workforce, it would be the largest layoff since 2022, when Meta had its “year of efficiency.” As of December, the company was employing 79,000 people. In November 2022, the company let go of 11,000 staffers, which was around 13 percent of Meta’s workforce at the time.

The report comes as there have been other cuts in big tech as AI impacts the marketplace, and competition grows in the space of AI. Amazon confirmed it cut 16,000 jobs, around 10 percent of its workforce, in January. Blocks CEO Jack Dorsey pointed to AI tools and cut his company's workforce by 40 percent.
