court ordered devices in Massachusetts that are said to be 'bearthalizers' that won't let people start their vehicles without blowing into them have been hacked and many people who have these devices are not able to start their vehicles!
"
Some drivers in Massachusetts are unable to start their cars due to a cybersecurity issue affecting Intoxalock, an Iowa-based company that provides in-vehicle breathalyzers.
These devices require drivers to blow into them to check their breath alcohol level before starting their cars.
If the user's breath alcohol level exceeds 0.02, the car will not start. The device is commonly used by individuals on probation.

"Cybersecurity issue affects Intoxalock breathalyzers"
"It's been pretty hectic with people," said George Damato, who owns Juniors Automotive in Middleboro. "I feel bad, but there's nothing we could do about it.""
He said he's had cars parked in his lot all week that won't start since the cybersecurity attack."
