The authoritarian COVID lockdowns and stay-at-home orders sold as life-saving measures have been unmasked once again as a deadly failure of big government overreach.

A new UK Covid-19 Inquiry report has concluded that the relentless “Stay Home, Protect the NHS, Save Lives” messaging likely cost thousands of lives by convincing people they could not get access to health services.

The inquiry, led by Baroness Hallett, slammed the slogan created by Cabinet Office officials without input from health leaders. It “led some people to feel they must avoid burdening the NHS” and “may have inadvertently sent the message that healthcare was closed,” contributing to a sharp decline in A&E attendances for life-threatening emergencies such as heart attacks.

The report states plainly: “It is clear that, during the pandemic, worsening delays in diagnosis and treatment led to increased ill-health and suffering and, in some cases, cost lives.” Some patients waited so long their conditions became “untreatable,” with permanent loss of mobility.

Baroness Hallett stressed: “It is important that government communication campaigns do not deter those in need from accessing healthcare.” She urged future governments to consult healthcare professionals on messaging “to avoid unintended consequences.”

Office for National Statistics data backs this up, recording more than 17,000 excess deaths from non-Covid conditions at the height of the pandemic. Cancer screenings were paused, diagnoses plummeted, and non-urgent care cancellations left patients suffering. Hospital visiting bans were branded too tough, with dying people left alone and families devastated.

Pentagon Locks In Palantir AI to Power Future Military Operations

The Pentagon has ordered oversight of Maven to shift from the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency to the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office within 30 days.

Future contracts tied to the system will be handled by the U.S. Army.

The move marks a major win for Palantir, which was co-founded by Peter Thiel, and has secured a growing number of government contracts.

The company previously signed a deal with the U.S. Army worth up to $10 billion, contributing to a sharp rise in its valuation.

Palantir first gained prominence for its work with U.S. intelligence and defense agencies, including the CIA, the Department of Defense, and other national security bodies.

Its software has also been used for counterterrorism analysis, military planning, and intelligence operations.

Meanwhile, Maven has already been widely deployed and is used to rapidly analyze large volumes of battlefield data.

“When we started this, it literally took hours to ‌do what you just saw,” Pentagon official Cameron Stanley said during a recent demonstration of the system.

Israel-linked arms facility set ablaze in EU

A video purports to show the torching of a warehouse in the Czech Republic linked to an Israeli defense firm

An anti-Zionist group has claimed responsibility for a fire at a warehouse belonging to a defense firm linked to Israel’s Elbit Systems in the Czech Republic.

The Earthquake Faction, which describes itself as “an internationalist underground network,” posted a video purportedly showing the arson attack on an industrial facility in the Czech town of Pardubice on Friday, along with images of the burned-out building.

It said the site was used to “develop weaponry used by the Zionist entity to massacre people daily in Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, and across West Asia.”

Firefighters extinguished the blaze, no injuries were reported, and police said there was no danger to the public. Officials said the incident is being treated as a suspected terrorist attack.

The facility is operated by LPP Holding, a Czech arms manufacturer producing civilian and military equipment. In 2023, the company announced cooperation with Israel’s Elbit Systems on drone development.

Headquartered in Haifa, the firm is Israel’s largest defense manufacturer, specializing in unmanned systems, precision weapons, and electronic warfare equipment.

The Czech Republic, an EU and NATO member, is a close ally of Israel. Czech officials have supported US and Israeli military actions against Iran and condemned Iranian missile and drone attacks.

Israel refuses to open Al-Aqsa Mosque for end of Ramadan

No Muslims will be allowed to enter the holy site for one of the main Islamic holidays for the first time since 1967

The Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest Muslim sites in Jerusalem, has been kept closed by the Israeli authorities, despite Muslims all over the world marking Eid al-Fitr, the final Friday of Ramadan.

The compound was closed over the Iran war, and worshipers have not been allowed to mark the holiday at the site for the first time since 1967.

Scores of people gathered in Jerusalem on Friday to pray, but their attempts to approach the gates of the Old City were met with tear gas from the Israeli security forces stationed at checkpoints, footage from the scene shows.

Israel restricted access to the Old City, including the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, citing security concerns on February 28, when it launched an attack against Iran jointly with the US.

Western silence allows Israel to get away with killing journalists

The non-reaction to an RT reporter’s narrow escape from a missile strike underscores the selective outrage of Western media

On March 19, RT war correspondent Steve Sweeney and his cameraman Ali Rida Sbeity were injured by an Israeli strike meters from where they stood in southern Lebanon.

Sweeney was on camera reporting on recent Israeli attacks on southern Lebanese towns and infrastructure when he heard the sound of an incoming projectile. Ducking and running, he managed to escape the brunt of the impact.

According to the journalists, an Israeli aircraft fired a missile at their filming position near Al-Qasmiya Bridge, where Sweeney was reporting on, “the targeting of bridges and the forced displacement of one million people, an ethnic cleansing operation on a larger scale than the Nakba,” as he later stated, referencing the violent displacement of Palestinians which accompanied the creation of the Jewish State in the late 1940s.

The men were treated for shrapnel injuries. Sweeney said, adding “I’m amazed that we survived. We were incredibly lucky to come away with the injuries we did.”

Just a day prior, Sweeney had posted on X about the Israeli targeted airstrike on Lebanese journalist and Al-Manar TV presenter Mohammad Sherri and his wife. Both were killed. Sweeney reposted the news with the words, “Targeting journalists is a war crime.”

The next day, he himself was targeted.

This deliberate targeting of journalists wearing press vests is another Israeli war crime, in a long list of Israeli war crimes which include killing at least 261 Palestinian journalists in Gaza in the past two years alone, as well as previously killing Lebanese journalists and bombing Iranian media repeatedly.

Targeted assassinations of journalists by the Israeli army are not new. Back in 2008, Fadel Shana, a Reuters cameraman in Gaza, was killed by a flechette shell fired by an Israeli tank as he worked.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Israel was responsible for two-thirds of all press killings globally in both 2025 and 2024. CPJ notes that the Israeli army has committed more targeted killings of journalists than any other government’s military since the CPJ began documentation in 1992.

Russian condemnation, British silence

RT Editor in Chief Margarita Simonyan posted on X about the targeted attack, clearly stating the journalists had been targeted by an Israeli strike and stating, “War journalists are not legitimate targets.”

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova highlighted that in no way could the strike be considered accidental, particularly given, “the rocket did not hit an ‘important strategic military target’, but the location of the report.”

While Western media is always quick to highlight claims of legacy media journalists in danger, no matter how staged it appears to be, when it comes to journalists actually under attack the outrage is selective.

Although the attack on Sweeney and Sbeity was filmed on camera in broad daylight, with Israel virtually the only possible culprit, British media in particular have been disinterested. The BBC’s report ran with the headline, “Missile lands next to presenter during live report from Lebanon.” Barely noticeable in small print many lines later, the BBC mentions the “ongoing Israeli air strikes and ground operations in southern Lebanon.”

The BBC listing an experienced war correspondent as a “presenter” was also not accidental. The overall flippant tone of their report was to insinuate a minor incident had occurred, the missile’s origin unknown.

Russia Offered to Stop Sharing Intel With Iran If U.S. Stops Sharing Intel With Ukraine.

Russia recently put a proposal to the United States, offering to cease intelligence sharing with Iran—in particular, details like precise locations of U.S. military assets in the Middle East—if Washington ceases sharing intelligence with Ukraine regarding Russian military activities. The suggestion was conveyed by Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev to U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during a meeting in Miami, Florida, last week.

The Trump administration rejected the offer, according to sources, but the proposal has caused alarm among European diplomats, who worry that Russia is seeking to exploit divisions between the U.S. and its European partners over Iran.

AI Bias in Action: ChatGPT Warns Republican Fundraising Links Are Unsafe, Democrat Links Are Fine

A marketing expert revealed on Friday that the ChatGPT platform displayed safety warnings for links to Republican fundraising websites while not showing similar alerts for Democratic fundraising sites. OpenAI blamed the bias of its AI system, the subject of the first chapter of the new book CODE RED, on a “technical glitch.”

The New York Post reports that OpenAI announced Friday that a “technical error” caused its ChatGPT platform to display safety warnings for links to Republican Party websites while not showing similar alerts for Democratic fundraising sites. The issue came to light when users discovered that links to WinRed, the official Republican Party donation platform, were being flagged as potentially unsafe, while links to ActBlue, the primary Democratic campaign fundraising platform, did not generate similar warnings.

Digital marketer Mike Morrison first brought attention to the discrepancy when he posted about his discovery on X. Morrison asked ChatGPT to generate links for various Democratic and Republican political campaign merchandise stores. The AI system provided links to GOP stores hosted by WinRed, but accompanied them with a warning message asking users to “check this link is safe.”

The warning message further stated that the link was not verified and might contain data from the user’s conversation that could be shared with a third-party site. Users were cautioned to ensure they trusted the link before proceeding. No such warning appeared when Morrison clicked on a link to an ActBlue-run store.

“WILD. ChatGPT universally marks [WinRed] links as potentially unsafe,” Morrison wrote in his social media post. “Of course ActBlue links are totally fine.”

OpenAI responded swiftly to the incident, with a spokesperson saying that the situation should not be occurring and was being addressed. Kate Waters, speaking on behalf of OpenAI, provided a statement explaining the company’s investigation into the matter.

Expelled Oberlin Chabad rabbi says he made a mistake by discussing molesting little children on social media

The Ohio college removed Shlomo Elkan after a police report detailed descriptions of messages about sexually touching children — which he says were ‘purely fictional’

A police report obtained by the Forward sheds light on the removal of a Chabad rabbi from the campus of Oberlin College last week, after the school administration became aware of a police report that alleged he engaged in sexually explicit conversations online concerning minors.

Rabbi Scott “Shlomo” Elkan, former co-director of Oberlin Chabad, allegedly received sexually explicit texts, photos and videos through the messaging app Kik concerning three young people, ages 7, 12 and 13, according to the report.

In December 2025 messages to an adult on the platform, Elkan allegedly responded to photos of someone giving a child a bath. The person he chatted with alluded to touching the child’s genitals and said he had been aroused when the child was sitting on his lap, the report stated.

According to the Oberlin Police Department report, Elkan shared photos of girls as part of the chat. The department closed the case after a 20-day investigation, with no charges filed.

In a phone interview with the Forward, Elkan said he regretted his participation in the chat, but that his messages were not based on real events.

“To be clear, what had happened was an online chat with an anonymous adult on purely fictional, you know, fantastical things that’s not rooted in any kind of reality whatsoever,” Elkan said. “And I entered that, and I should not have, and I take responsibility for that.”

Elkan added that he has been engaged in “professional care and spiritual counseling to deal with all of the stresses and all of the factors that led me to engaging in an unhealthy behavior.”

According to the report, in an interview with police, Elkan confirmed the Kik account belonged to him and said the chats were “escapism” from the stress of his everyday life. He denied ever viewing or possessing child sexual abuse images.

Elkan told the Forward that “oftentimes people think of rabbis as godlike and infallible,” and he “made a mistake in one of the weakest few moments of my life.”

“There was no crime. Nothing illegal. Poor judgment, yes,” Elkan said. “And there’s not a victim. The victims here are the Jewish community and my family.”

Kirill Dmitriev, Russian special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, has dismissed as fake news a foreign media report that Moscow allegedly proposed an intelligence deal to Washington.

Politico claimed earlier that "Moscow proposed a quid pro quo to the US under which the Kremlin would stop sharing intelligence information with Iran - such as the precise coordinates of US military assets in the Middle East - if the US ceased supplying Ukraine with intel about Russia."

Iran Attacked American-British Bomber Base 4,000 Kilometers Away In Indian Ocean With Missiles

Iran launched two intermediate-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia but did not hit the British-American military base in the Indian Ocean island, the Wall Street Journal reported on March 21, citing multiple United States officials.

One of the missiles failed midflight, while a U.S. warship launched an SM-3 interceptor at the other, although it could not be determined if the interception succeeded, the newspaper said, without specifying when the missile attack exactly took place.

The Naval Support Facility Diego Garcia, leased to the U.S. by the United Kingdom, serves as a base for long-range bombers and other strategic assets.

The missile attack came after the UK gave the U.S. permission to strike Iranian missile sites targeting the strait of Hormuz from British bases including Diego Garcia on March 20. Previously, UK bases were only being used to strike Iranian sites targeting British allies and interests in Gulf states.

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the UK “should have acted a lot faster” in giving his country the permission. He earlier slammed NATO allies, calling them “cowards” for refusing to offer warships to reopen the strait.

Responding, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the Islamic Republic would “exercise its right to self-defense”.

“Vast majority of the British People do not want any part in the Israel-US war of choice on Iran,” the minister wrote on X. “Ignoring his own People, Mr Starmer is putting British lives in danger by allowing UK bases to be used for aggression against Iran. Iran will exercise its right to self-defence.”

The latest missile attack was significant for what it revealed about Iran’s missile capabilities. Diego Garcia lies roughly 4,000 kilometers from the Islamic Republic, double the 2,000-kilometer limit Iran has for long stated that it would set the range of its missile to.

It is possible that Iran used a modified version of its heaviest missile, the Khorramshahr-4, to target Diego Garcia. With a stated range of 2,000 kilometers, the missile is classified as a medium-range ballistic missile. However, by decreasing the weight of the warhead from 1,500 kg, the Islamic Republic may have been able to double the range of the missile.

It’s worth noting that Iran also has suicide drones capable of reaching Diego Garcia, namely a a completely redesigned version of its Shahded-136, dubbed the Shahed-136B, with a range over 4,000 kilometers and a 90 kg warhead.

These capabilities not just put Diego Garcia within the Iranian ring of fire, but also the UK mainland, and most of the European Union, where critical U.S. bases are located.

While NATO has so far shown reluctance in joining in the American-Israeli war on Iran, this could eventually happen. The Islamic Republic clearly has the means to strike back.
