I know this may sound odd but one must remember that the evil or devil is something God allows to exist. Being of a foreign concept to most this is clearly stated in most religious text Christian, Islamic, and Jewish faith. It is this duality that is needed to some times bring about change. In other faiths similar concepts have always existed as well.
I would say it is more fighting in the name of God for what people think is acceptable or right is the issue and it is not rather than God themselves. We must remember or at lest I believe God gave humanity free will this comes with the ability to fail but oddly enough we are still alive as a species so it can’t be all that bad.
