Musk’s Starlink blocked from operating in African country

The decision was made in line with licensing regulations, the Namibian authorities have said

Namibia has refused to grant Elon Musk’s Starlink a telecommunications license amid mounting pushback against the US-based satellite internet provider across Africa.

The Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) announced the move on Monday, saying it had rejected the company’s application for service and spectrum access.

“The authority resolved to decline the award of a class comprehensive telecommunications service licence for Starlink Internet Services Namibia (Pty) Limited,” CRAN said in a notice cited by local media.

The regulator did not publicly provide detailed reasons for the move but noted that Starlink’s Namibian subsidiary lacks local ownership, adding that the decision was taken “in accordance with applicable licensing regulations.” CRAN said it could reconsider the decision “on its own motion or on a petition filed by an aggrieved party” within 90 days.

The bid has faced hurdles over Namibia’s local ownership laws, which typically require 51% majority domestic shares, with Starlink seeking an exemption as a wholly foreign-owned company.

"Will You Help Me Repair My Door?": Rapper Afroman Wins Major Free Speech Verdict

When singer Joseph E. Foreman took the stand recently in Ohio, his message, like his lyrics, was hardly subtle. Indeed, counsel may have been unsure whether to examine or to hoist him. The rapper, known as “Afroman,” appeared in a suit modeled after an American flag with matching flag-patterned sunglasses. He lashed out at the seven police officers who raided his home and then sued him for publicly mocking them. He insisted that he was the virtual embodiment of the First Amendment in all of its glory.

A jury agreed, at least insofar as finding him protected in his parody and public portrayal of the officers.

Almost three years ago, I wrote about the case and expressed deep skepticism about the legal viability of the case in light of free speech protections for filming and criticizing public officials.

Foreman, 51, became famous for a humorous rap song, “Because I Got High.” Later, he became even more famous after the released security camera footage of officers breaking down the door to his home and holding him and his family at bay with drawn weapons. While the warrant was granted to look for evidence of kidnapping, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, they found nothing.

Foreman then decided to go on the offensive with videos showing the raid and rap songs using his signature style to mock the officers (including one who seemed to stop in the midst of the raid to look at a fresh lemon pound cake on the counter. He told NPR, “I asked myself, as a powerless Black man in America, what can I do to the cops that kicked my door in, tried to kill me in front of my kids, stole my money, and disconnected my cameras? And the only thing I could come up with was make a funny rap song about them … use the money to pay for the damages they did and move on.”

In “Will You Help Me Repair My Door?” he taunted the officers: “Did you find what you were looking for?/Will you help me repair my gate and door/Would you like a slice of my lemon pound cake?/You can take as much as you want to take/There must be a big mistake.”

The humor highlighted what he viewed as an absurdly broad warrant: “The warrant said ‘Narcotics and kidnapping’/The warrant said “Narcotics and kidnapping”/Are you kidding? I make my money, rapping/Why does the warrant say ‘Narcotics?’ (Well, I know narcotics)/But why kidnapping?”

That was followed up by an even more popular video titled “Lemon Pound Cake”: “The Adams County Sheriff kicked down my door/Then I heard the glass break/They found no kidnapping victims/Just some lemon pound cake…Mama’s lemon pound cake/It tastes so nice/It made the sheriff wanna put down his gun/And cut him a slice (of what? Of what?).”

North Korean nukes can threaten US – Kim

Pyongyang’s nuclear arsenal provides leverage against American “terrorism and aggression,” the nation’s leader has said

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has said the country can pose a credible nuclear threat to the US as opposed to being a target for American attempts to project power.

Speaking during a policy address to newly elected lawmakers on Monday, Kim emphasized the role of nuclear weapons in ensuring national security.

He accused Washington of carrying out “state terror and aggression” globally, arguing that such actions justify Pyongyang’s concerns about the US military presence in the region, including deployments involving nuclear-capable assets. According to Kim, North Korea’s nuclear arsenal provides a strong safeguard against potential attacks.

“Our nation is no longer a country under threat,” he said. “We possess the power to pose a threat if necessary.”

Mark Zuckerberg Is Building An AI Version Of A CEO To Help Him Run Meta

This isn't going to help the speculation that Zuckerberg, himself is a robot. I mean, it's only a joke…right?

Mark Zuckerberg is pushing a future where everyone—inside and outside Meta Platforms—has a personal AI agent. He’s beginning with his own, according to a new report from the Wall Street Journal.

The CEO is building an internal “CEO agent,” still in development, that helps him quickly access information he’d normally get through layers of staff. The goal reflects a broader company shift: speed up work, reduce hierarchy, and compete with lean, AI-first startups.

AI adoption has become central to Meta’s strategy. Zuckerberg recently emphasized this direction, saying, “We’re investing in AI-native tooling so individuals at Meta can get more done,” adding that the company is “elevating individual contributors and flattening teams.” Employees are now expected to use AI regularly, and it even factors into performance reviews.

Across the company, staff are experimenting heavily. Internal forums are full of AI tools and ideas, with some employees describing the environment as similar to Meta’s early “move fast and break things” era—now updated to a more stable, AI-driven version of rapid innovation.

Nvidia CEO: "I Think We've Achieved AGI"

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang joined podcaster Lex Fridman for a 2-plus-hour conversation on the future of AI infrastructure, covering everything from chips, racks, and cooling systems to Nvidia's broader strategy for the next computing era.

Jensen spoke about how computers are evolving from retrieval machines into generative AI factories. The discussion also turned to one of the biggest questions in the AI cycle: whether AGI has already arrived.

Near the two-hour mark of the conversation, Fridman asked Jensen about the "AGI timeline" and whether it is still five, ten, fifteen, or twenty years away, especially given the recent widespread use of agentic AI tools like OpenClaw.

Jensen responded, "I think it's now. I think we've achieved AGI."

It is worth noting that Jensen has previously stated that the AGI timeline depends on how it is defined.

At the 2023 New York Times DealBook Summit, Jensen defined AGI as software capable of exceeding normal human intelligence at a reasonably competitive level. At the time, he said he expected AGI to arrive within five years.

Fridman's question about the AGI timeline was based on a very narrower interpretation, and Jensen framed it this way: AI does not need to build anything lasting. It does not need to manage a complex business. It just needs to make a billion dollars.

"You said a billion," Jensen told Fridman, "and you didn't say forever."

Jensen said, for example, that all AI needs to do is create a web service or app that goes viral and is used by a few billion people at fifty cents per user.

He pointed to the dot-com era, when some websites were no more sophisticated than what an AI agent can create today.

Russia Halts Ammonium Nitrate Exports As Global Fertilizer Crisis Set To Worsen

The fertilizer crisis appears to be worsening just as the Northern Hemisphere planting season, in some areas, is about to begin, with top ammonium nitrate supplier Russia announcing on Tuesday via state media that exports of the critical crop nutrient will be halted.

Russia's state-run news agency TASS said Russia will suspend ammonium nitrate exports from March 21 through April 21. The report cited a statement from the Agriculture Ministry.

The temporary restriction is intended to secure domestic fertilizer supplies during the spring planting season. Exports made under intergovernmental agreements are exempt.

Russia is the world's largest producer of ammonium nitrate. In 2024, the country produced about 12 million tons, roughly 47% of the global output of the plant nutrient. It was also the largest exporter at about 2.7 million tons, around 37% of global export volume and 40% of export value.

40% of Vape Stores Checked by Police Caught Selling to Children.

North Carolina’s Smithfield Police Narcotics Division carried out a compliance operation at ten vape stores on March 18, amid reports of underage school students vaping. Officers caught clerks selling to minors at four of them. School resource officers had noted a sharp rise in students carrying vapes throughout March.

Under North Carolina law, it is illegal to sell vape products to anyone under the age of 18. Charges have been filed against the arrested clerks. Increasingly, vape stores are becoming hubs for criminality across the United States and the wider West, with raids in another North Carolina town earlier this month netting four arrests, millions in cash, and illegal narcotics.

In the United Kingdom, vape stores have been definitively linked to anti-social behavior, the sale of drugs and counterfeit cigarettes, and organized crime, including immigration crime. They are also a threat to public safety and national heritage, with one of many unregistered stores selling unsafe products in Glasgow, Scotland, recently starting a fire that burned a 175-year-old historic landmark to the ground.

The fire also forced the country’s largest railway station, located nearby, to close, triggering days of chaos across the national rail network.

Blocking The Internet Archive Won’t Stop AI, But It Will Erase The Web’s Historical Record

Historians journalists, and the public have used the internet archive to preserve news sites for decades, shutting it out threatens to erase troves of necessary documentation.

Imagine a newspaper publisher announcing it will no longer allow libraries to keep copies of its paper.

That’s effectively what’s begun happening online in the last few months. The Internet Archive—the world’s largest digital library—has preserved newspapers since it went online in the mid-1990s. The Archive’s mission is to preserve the web and make it accessible to the public. To that end, the organization operates the Wayback Machine, which now contains more than one trillion archived web pages and is used daily by journalists, researchers, and courts.

But in recent months The New York Times began blocking the Archive from crawling its website, using technical measures that go beyond the web’s traditional robots.txt rules. That risks cutting off a record that historians and journalists have relied on for decades. Other newspapers, including The Guardian, seem to be following suit.

For nearly three decades, historians, journalists, and the public have relied on the Internet Archive to preserve news sites as they appeared online. Those archived pages are often the only reliable record of how stories were originally published. In many cases, articles get edited, changed, or removed—sometimes openly, sometimes not. The Internet Archive often becomes the only source for seeing those changes. When major publishers block the Archive’s crawlers, that historical record starts to disappear.

The Times says the move is driven by concerns about AI companies scraping news content. Publishers seek control over how their work is used, and several—including the Times—are now suing AI companies over whether training models on copyrighted material violates the law. There’s a strong case that such training is fair use.

Whatever the outcome of those lawsuits, blocking nonprofit archivists is the wrong response. Organizations like the Internet Archive are not building commercial AI systems. They are preserving a record of our history. Turning off that preservation in an effort to control AI access could essentially torch decades of historical documentation over a fight that libraries like the Archive didn’t start, and didn’t ask for.

If publishers shut the Archive out, they aren’t just limiting bots. They’re erasing the historical record.

Archiving and Search Are Legal

Making material searchable is a well-established fair use. Courts have long recognized it’s often impossible to build a searchable index without making copies of the underlying material. That’s why when Google copied entire books in order to make a searchable database, courts rightly recognized it as a clear fair use. The copying served a transformative purpose: enabling discovery, research, and new insights about creative works.

Wave 79: IRGC pounds 'seemingly secure' intelligence sites in 'Israel'

The IRGC announced wave 79 of Operation True Promise 4, targeting major Israeli intelligence sites which were "seemingly secure" and concealed, achieving successful hits.

In a statement issued by the IRGC's Public Relations, the operation was executed using a combination of Kheibar Shekan, Emad, and Sejjil ballistic missiles, alongside attack drones deployed by Iran's Aerospace Forces.

Iran's military capabilities were able to pierce through "Israel's" multi-layered air defense systems successfully, directly hitting multiple sites, including intelligence centers in northern and central Tel Aviv, and commercial and logistical facilities affiliated with the military in Ramat Gan and Negev.

The IRGC further disclosed that a major logistics and command hub in Bir al-Sabe', southern occupied Palestine, was among the targets struck in the freshest wave.

Iran asserts success as enemies censor strike aftermath

The Iranian strikes ignited raging fires and smoke towers across multiple impact sites, the statement added. Moreover, as sirens blared across occupied territories, over two million illegal settlers fled to shelters for extended periods of time, demonstrating the effectiveness of Iran's missile and drone capabilities as enemy air defenses were significantly disrupted.

Gavin Newsom’s Wife Says Pro-Life Christians are “Pulling Us Back as a Country”

Jennifer Siebel Newsom, wife of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, is attacking pro-life Christians.

She has criticized pro-life Christians and evangelicals as living in an “evangelical, conservative silo” that is “pulling us back as a country.”

Meanwhile, Newsom is arguing that the term “pro-life” should be redefined to mean government-funded social programs rather than protecting unborn children from abortion.

In a 2022 interview with journalist Elex Michaelson of a local Los Angeles station, Siebel Newsom promoted her documentary “Fair Play” on gender roles in the home and praised progressives for redefining the meaning of “pro-life.”

“I appreciate that so many people, so many progressives, are leaning into redefining what pro-life is really about, and that’s what we’re doing in California,” Siebel Newsom said. “You know, pro-life is about prenatal care and universal preschool and universal after-school and universal healthcare and taking care of foster kids and feeding, you know, universal meals and childcare. Like, that’s pro-life. It’s not conception.”

She went on to criticize those she described as being on the far right.

“They’re living in this silo, this evangelical, conservative silo that, ultimately, is just pulling us back as a country to a time and a place where we don’t deserve to be, and we’re not going to be,” Siebel Newsom said. “Because honestly, young women and fathers of daughters are awake now, and they’re woke, and they’re not going to let us go back.”

Siebel Newsom added that she has “so much hope because of that, and obviously California has a huge responsibility to lead.”

The clip resurfaced this week and drew fresh attention online as California continues to position itself as a leader in expanding abortion access through taxpayer funding.

Last month, at a bill-signing ceremony for Senate Bill 106, which provides $90 million in one-time emergency funds to Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses to kill more babies, Newsom scolded reporters for focusing questions on topics such as the state’s failed high-speed rail project and the governor’s planned trip to Munich rather than the legislation.

“We just find it incredulous that we have Planned Parenthood here, and women are 51% of the population,” she said. “And the majority of the questions — all of these questions — have really been about other issues. So, it’s just fascinating.”

Pro-life advocates have condemned the $90 million allocation as an effort to celebrate and subsidize abortion at a time when many Americans support greater protections for unborn children. Not every woman views the expansion of abortions as advancing women’s interests.

Israel Threatens Assassination of Russian Leaders

Israel’s threat to Moscow came just after Russian media warned that traffic cameras in Moscow were vulnerable to the same sinister intrigues that Israel used to monitor Ayatollah Khamenei’s residence before slaying him.

Israeli military spokeswoman Anna Ukolova has drawn outrage in Moscow after threatening that any Russian authorities who ‘wish Israel ill’ could be subject to ‘elimination.’

The Ukrainian-born Israelite suggested Israel could hack into Russian closed-circuit television cameras. This would allow them to identify and track targets, such as Russia’s top officials, including Putin.

A journalist with Russian radio broadcaster RBC asked whether Israel had access to Russian traffic cameras. Ukolova declined to answer.

However, she warned that ‘Khamenei’s elimination shows our capabilities are serious.’ She added that ‘no one who wishes us harm will be left aside.’

She added, ominously, ‘I hope Moscow does not wish Israel ill right now, I’d like to believe that.’

She wrote in response to a post by Russian philosopher Alexander Dugin.

The Israeli Defense Force spokeswoman threatened that ‘Russian authorities will be killed if they take an anti-Israel position.’

Ukolova claimed Dugin was spreading fake news. But she declined to clarify how her remarks had been incorrectly interpreted.

Ukolova’s statements came shortly after a significant revelation. It was revealed that a large number of Russian CCTVs were actually using BriefCam. BriefCam is an Israeli video analysis software.

King Charles becomes patron of Jewish charity after London arson attack

The Royal Communications at Buckingham Palace told The Jerusalem Post that His Majesty has accepted the patronage and that it has been in the works for some time.

Britain’s King Charles has agreed to become the patron of one of the country’s largest Jewish charities, it said on Tuesday, a day after the suspected antisemitic arson attack in north London.

The Community Security Trust, which advises Britain’s estimated 280,000 Jews on security matters, said the king had accepted its invitation to be its patron, reflecting the monarch’s “longstanding commitment to promoting tolerance, inclusion, and interfaith understanding.”

“This is a powerful recognition of [the King’s] longstanding support for the Jewish community and the fight against antisemitism,” said CST.

The King's long-standing support for the Jewish community

The Royal Communications at Buckingham Palace told The Jerusalem Post that His Majesty has accepted the patronage and that it has been in the works for some time. It added that the patronage was not in direct response to Monday’s arson and that the King’s support for the Jewish community is well documented.

Last year, Charles visited a synagogue in northern England following an attack that left two Jewish worshipers dead. He said at the time he was “deeply shocked and saddened” and met some of those who had been inside when it took place.

In the early hours of Monday, four ambulances belonging to Jewish charity Hatzalah were set on fire in an attack that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said was “deeply shocking,” while police are investigating a possible link to Iran.

In Britain, concern has mounted about rising levels of antisemitism, and the CST said that last year was the country’s second worst on record for incidents.

“It is too early for me to attribute last night’s attack in Golders Green to the Iranian state… but whoever was responsible, the impact is serious,” London police chief Mark Rowley told the CST’s annual dinner on Monday.

He said counter-terrorism police were looking into an online claim of responsibility by an Islamist group, which has said it was responsible for other attacks across Europe and has Iranian state links.

Lord Daniel Finkelstein, a trustee of the CST, told the dinner crowd that the King is the community’s “greatest ally.”

Referring to the arson, he said, “We are not just Jews; we are British Jews. We stay strong, and we stay here. We have seen worse, and we have come through it.”

‘A Revolting Moral Outrage’: Israeli Soldiers Reportedly Torture Gaza Toddler

Reports of 1-year-old Karim Abu Nassar being burned with a cigarette and pierced with a nail followed the publication of a United Nations analysis detailing Israel’s “systematic” torture of Palestinians since October 2023.

Israeli soldiers in Gaza allegedly tortured an 18-month-old Palestinian toddler in an effort to force a confession from his father, local and international media outlets reported Monday.

According to Al Jazeera, Karim Abu Nassar was with his father, Osama Abu Nassar, near the al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza on Saturday when they came under Israel Defense Forces fire. Eyewitnesses told Palestine TV that IDF troops ordered the man to leave the child on the ground and advance to a nearby checkpoint, where he was stripped naked and searched.

Witnesses said IDF soldiers then tortured Karim in front of his father to pressure him to confess to something. Journalist Osama Al-Kahlout interviewed the child’s mother, who said the toddler suffered a cigarette burn to one leg and a nail puncture to the other. Al-Kahlout’s video shows wounds on the child’s legs – injuries reportedly confirmed by an unspecified medical authority.

Unsafe levels of cancer and autism-linked toxin discovered in popular 'fast fashion' clothing brands

A toxin that could trigger cancer, autism and brain damage has been detected in popular 'fast fashion' clothing.

Fast fashion, churned out quickly using synthetic materials, is sold by global giants such as H&M, Shein and Zara for a little as just a few dollars. The US fast fashion market is extremely popular, valued at about $21 billion in 2024.

While more awareness has been raised on the environmental impact of fast fashion, less is known about the health impacts.

But now, researchers have put that to the test and found many items may contain lead, a heavy metal that can enter the bloodstream and damage the brain and neurons, potentially raising the risk of autism and behavioral problems, and blood vessels, raising the risk of high blood pressure.

Experts say there is no safe level of lead exposure. However, the Consumer Product Safety Commission sets a limit of 100 parts per million for children's clothes.

In their study, the team in Indiana tested 11 fast fashion children's shirts that were dyed red, pink, orange, yellow, gray and blue and found all of them contained lead levels above the recommended safe limit.

Overall, the garments that were brightly colored, such as red or yellow, were found to have the highest levels of the heavy metal.

The clothing was sold at four fast fashion and discount retailers, which were not named, and were for children.

But, because of the detection of the lead in children's fast fashion, it is likely that the heavy metal is also present in rapidly-produced garments meant for adults.

Tucker is actually correct here. Attempts to blame Iran for the 2024 actual attempts on Trump's life have largely come from Israel–Bibi and his proxies like Mike Waltz.

No "IRGC assassins" have been indicted. The FBI arrested some Pakistani guy and burned an informer in Iran.

In March 2025, Israeli soldiers opened fire on 5 ambulances, a fire truck, and a United Nations vehicle, in southern Rafah, Gaza Strip.

The massacre resulted in the deaths of 15 emergency workers.

The Israelis then buried the dead and their ambulances and lied about what happened

Benjamin Netanyahu says it's not US decision when this war ends. It's when the IDF says this war ends. Benjamin Netanyahu on a world stage made Trump look small and powerless. 🚨

They invented an "Iranian terrorist group" that they’re accusing of “antisemitic attacks” exactly as the war of aggression on Iran starts…

They didn’t even bother to give it a Farsi name as they forgot that Iran doesn’t use Arabic…

Judge: Palestinian Minor Who Died in Israeli Prison Was 'Likely Starved,' but Case Closed

Walid Ahmed, 17, died in Israel's Mediggo prison a year ago, after suffering extreme malnutrition. Investigation into his death was closed due the fact that an autopsy could not determine causal connection to his death. His body is still held by Israel

The judge hearing the case into the cause of death of Waleed Ahmad, a Palestinian minor who died in Megiddo Prison in March 2025, ruled that he was likely starved. "The fact that he was likely starved cannot and should not be concealed," Judge Ehud Kaplan wrote in the ruling.

Despite this, Kaplan ruled that the case be closed because, following an autopsy at the National Institute of Forensic Medicine (Abu Kabir), it is impossible to establish a causal link between his poor physical condition – including being severely underweight, scabies and infection – and his death. "Given this state of affairs, the investigation into his death is exhausted," the judge wrote. Ahmad's body is still being held by Israel, though Haaretz was told as early as August that this was no longer necessary.

Ahmad, a Brazilian national from the West Bank town of Silwad, had been in detention for six months prior to his death and was indicted for throwing a firebomb.

Judge Kaplan's ruling was made at the Hadera Magistrate Court last December, but was under a gag order that has been partially lifted following a request by Haaretz, through attorneys Tamir Gluck and Nissim Azrad of Lieblich-Moser-Gluck Advocates. Even though the judge ordered the investigation into the cause of death closed, the police said in its reply to the request that an investigation is still ongoing.
