The U.S. government recently approved HB4 wheat, genetically engineered to tolerate glufosinate, a highly hazardous herbicide banned in the EU due to unacceptable risks to reproduction.
Glufosinate, considered to be 166 times more toxic than glyphosate, is linked to premature birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, skeletal birth defects and autism-like behaviors in offspring.
