European Commission confirms cyberattack after hackers claim data breach

The European Commission has confirmed it experienced a cyberattack resulting in a data breach from its cloud storage. Nika Blazevic, a spokesperson, stated that the attack affected part of their cloud infrastructure. Immediate containment and risk mitigation measures were implemented, with internal systems remaining unaffected.

The Commission noted that the breach involved data from the Amazon Web Services cloud, with sources claiming 350 gigabytes were stolen. Evidence of this access was provided to Bleeping Computer, including screenshots. The specific types of stolen data are still unclear.
