Alberta town bans ‘pride’ crosswalks, LGBT flags at gov’t buildings

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/alberta-town-bans-pride-crosswalks-lgbt-flags-at-govt-buildings/

A Canadian town in Alberta is the latest to enact a law that in essence bans so-called “Pride” flags at government buildings as well as “Pride” crosswalks.

Didsbury, located just north of Calgary, says the new bylaw is about keeping public spaces neutral from politically charged ideologies.

“Our town government exists to represent everyone who lives here,” Didsbury Mayor Chris Little said.

Didsbury’s new bylaw places severe limits on which flags can fly at municipal or town-owned buildings, not only LGBT “Pride” flags but also foreign nations.

All sidewalks and crosswalks would be standardized in markings.

Little said that the law is about being “politically” neutral. Continue…

@scoopercooper

has been spot on about EVERYTHING. For the past decade or more, the RCMP have seemingly been refusing to investigate and arrest these cartels and shut down their industrial scale meth labs and global export operations, why?

After reading and following Sam Cooper’s work, I think many us may know the answer to that question.

Lethbridge police seize city’s largest fentanyl stash valued at $450,000

https://www.westernstandard.news/news/lethbridge-police-seize-citys-largest-fentanyl-stash-valued-at-450000/72379

Lethbridge authorities have seized more than 2.25 kilograms of fentanyl in what marks the city’s largest fentanyl bust to date, with an estimated street value of $450,000.

The drugs, which could have been sold as roughly 22,000 doses, were recovered alongside $8,000 in cash and 14 cartons of contraband cigarettes.

ALERT Lethbridge’s organized crime team and the Lethbridge Police Service conducted the seizure on March 19, following a search of a home in the Victoria Park neighbourhood near Chinook Regional Hospital and a local middle school.

Staff Sergeant Trevor Sheppard said fentanyl remains a top priority for ALERT.

“A record seizure like this showcases our commitment to public safety and we will continue to aggressively target offenders who poison our community,” Sheppard said.

A 49-year-old woman, Sherry Hopkins, was arrested in connection with the seizure. Hopkins had previously violated two court-ordered release conditions after a July 2025 incident where she was found with 1,137 grams of fentanyl. Continue…

Teenage COVID-19 Vaccine Recipients at Risk of Serious Adverse Events After 2nd Dose: Study

https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/teenage-covid-19-recipients-at-risk-of-serious-adverse-events-after-2nd-dose-study-6006115?ea_src=ca-frontpage&ea_med=section-1

Teenage recipients of COVID-19 vaccines faced an elevated risk of serious adverse events, including appendicitis, after a second dose, researchers said in a new study.

Norwegian scientists studied about 496,432 adolescents aged 12 to 19 for the research, published in Scientific Reports on March 27, utilizing nationwide safety data. Many of the adolescents received a messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna.

Following a first dose, there were no significant increases in adverse events, the scientists said. An age-adjusted analysis identified an increased incidence of appendicitis and allergic reactions, but the small number of events means those increases should be “interpreted cautiously,” they wrote.

In contrast, after the second dose, there was a higher incidence of allergic reactions, swollen lymph nodes, and heart inflammation. When isolating people without reported COVID-19 infections, an elevated risk of epilepsy and convulsions also appeared.

Stratifications by age showed that the heart inflammation cases were primarily among 18- to 19-year-olds, who have been known to face an increased risk of the inflammation—for which doctors often advise refraining from physical activity for a period of time—following COVID-19 vaccination. The older adolescents also had an increased risk of allergic reactions, while 16- to 17-year-olds had more events of acute appendicitis, which typically requires surgery.

The Norwegian researchers restricted their primary analysis to events occurring within two to 42 days after vaccination, depending on the type of event. They acknowledged that the risk windows may be too brief, as estimates of risk increased for certain events after the elapsed time. Continue…

Saskatchewan to Ask Residents If Social Media Should Be Banned for Minors

https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/saskatchewan-to-poll-residents-on-social-media-ban-for-minors-after-national-survey-shows-75-support-6006180?ea_src=ca-frontpage&ea_med=section-1

Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says his government will ask voters to consider a full ban on social media for children younger than 16 after a national poll found three-quarters of Canadians support such a move.

An Angus Reid survey released on March 29 found that 75 percent of more than 4,000 respondents favour a ban like the one in Australia, where children younger than 16 are prevented from setting up accounts on platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Threads.

“Canada should be considering options to limit social media use by minors,” Moe said in a March 30 X post. “In the coming weeks, our government will be asking Saskatchewan people for their views on this matter.”

The survey, conducted online between March 11 and 17, found that 18 percent of respondents opposed a social media ban for minors and 7 percent were uncertain.

The gap in support between banning certain apps—87 percent—and the 75 percent support for a full ban on social media for those younger than 16 suggests there is some hesitation to fully restrict children from using all types of social media, however.

Respondents who want the prohibition of specific applications were asked which apps they would restrict for users 15 and younger. Of those, 88 percent said they would ban TikTok, followed by 86 percent for X, 84 percent for Snapchat, and 77 percent for Instagram. A majority—72 percent—also said they would ban Facebook and Reddit. Only 48 percent wanted a ban on YouTube. Continue…

Canada’s Iran War Stance Not Impacting US Relations, Formal Trade Talks to Start in ‘Due Course’: Minister Leblanc

https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/canadas-iran-war-stance-not-impacting-us-relations-formal-trade-talks-to-start-in-due-course-minister-leblanc-6006195?ea_src=ca-frontpage&ea_med=section-1

Canada-U.S. Trade Minister Dominic LeBlanc says relations between Ottawa and Washington have not been impacted by their differing stances on the Iran war.

U.S. President Donald Trump in recent days has publicly criticized some allied countries for not facilitating U.S. military operations or for not playing a role in helping restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

LeBlanc told reporters in Ottawa on March 30 he would not comment on that specific matter, while adding that Canada’s stance has “not been an impediment at all” during talks with U.S. officials.

LeBlanc said the top Canadian officials managing the relationship with the United States, such as chief trade negotiator Janice Charette and Ambassador to the U.S. Mark Wiseman, have not relayed any concerns from U.S. officials regarding Canada’s stance.

At the onset of the conflict, Prime Minister Mark Carney issued a statement backing the attack on Iran, noting the failure of diplomatic efforts to curb Iran’s nuclear program or its support for regional terrorist proxy groups. Days later, Carney said the attacks on Iran appeared to be “inconsistent” with international law and called for de-escalation.

As the war against Iran enters its second month, and the energy crisis grows due to major disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump is railing against NATO allies for not providing help. Continue…

Alberta Surpasses 177,000 Signatures, Officially Triggering Its Independence Referendum for October 19th

https://gatewayhispanic.com/2026/03/alberta-surpasses-177000-signatures-officially-triggering-its-independence/

Alberta has entered a historic chapter.

This week, organizers confirmed that the movement for an Alberta independence referendum has officially passed the required threshold of 177,000 verified signatures, clearing the final legal barrier for a vote set to take place on October 19th.

According to the organizers behind the petition, signatures continue to pour in even after the requirement was met — a sign of the momentum and frustration that have been building across the province.

For many Albertans, this referendum is the result of years of tension with Ottawa, fueled by policies that have targeted the province's energy sector, restricted development, and undermined the economic backbone of Western Canada . Residents and local leaders argue that Alberta has carried the financial weight of the federation while receiving little more than political pushback in return. Continue…
