Iran blows hole in US aluminium supply chain with smelter strikes
With attacks on the two biggest aluminium smelters in the Middle East over the weekend, Iran struck at major suppliers to the United States of a strategic metal the world's biggest economy does not produce nearly enough of domestically, analysts said.
Before the weekend, disruption from the Iran war centred around the difficulty of shipping aluminium and raw materials through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been effectively closed by Tehran.
But on Saturday, Emirates Global Aluminium said its roughly 1.5 million metric ton per year Al Taweelah site in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates, had sustained significant damage from Iranian attacks.
Aluminium Bahrain said its 1.6 million ton per year plant was targeted on the same day.
Neither company has since provided an update on operations. But the attacks have abruptly shifted concerns from temporary shipping snarls to a potentially more serious threat to production in the region.
"That changes the nature of the risk," Paul Adkins, head of aluminium consultancy AZ Global, wrote on LinkedIn.

NATO shoots down fourth Iranian ballistic missile over Turkey
NATO air defenses shot down a fourth ballistic missile launched from Iran toward Turkey, after it had entered the country's airspace, Turkey's Defense Ministry said in a Monday post to X/Twitter.

The Syrian Army said Monday it repelled a “large-scale” drone attack targeting several military bases near the Iraqi border, the SANA news agency reported.
The Syrian Army’s Operations Command told SANA that a large-scale attack involving multiple drones targeted positions near the border with Iraq at dawn.
It said Syrian units were able to confront and shoot down most of the incoming drones.
The military said it will carry out an “appropriate response” to neutralize any threat and prevent further attacks on Syrian territory.
No immediate information was provided on casualties or damage.
The army did not specify the launch site of the drones. Its bases have previously been targeted by similar attacks from within Iraqi territory, the most recent being on Saturday, though no group has claimed responsibility.
An Iraqi group loyal to Iran, calling itself Saraya Awliya al-Dam (Brigades of the Guardians of Blood), claimed responsibility for a previous attack a week earlier that targeted a Syrian army base in the northeastern province of Hasakah.

Three men charged as drones, drugs seized in Dublin

Gardaí have seized two drones and drugs worth €7,000 in an operation to prevent the supply of drugs into prisons in west Dublin.
Three men were arrested by Ronanstown gardaí on Friday and Saturday and have been charged.
On Friday a man in his 20s was arrested and a drone worth €2,500 was seized along with a mobile device.
Controlled drugs valued at €7,000 were seized on Saturday, together with a drone worth €3,000. Two men aged in their 20s and 30s were arrested.
Gardaí said the drugs will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis and the drones will be subject to further technical examination.
The three men arrested in connection with this investigation have since been charged.
They are scheduled to appear before the courts today.
The arrests and seizures are part of Operation Throwover where the gardaí are supporting the Irish Prison Service to prevent illegal drugs and other contraband getting into prisons.

Missouri Veteran Reports Shape-Shifting UFO Over Table Rock Lake

If you're like me, you often roll your eyes when someone tells you they saw a UFO.
It's a completely different story for me, though, when that story comes from a Missouri veteran.
This new account details a shape-shifting object that he spotted over Table Rock Lake.
This new UFO account in Missouri was just shared by YouTube channel Sasquatch Theory
They say that Dan from southern Missouri has had many accounts with strange happenings including a bizarre encounter that happened after his service in the military where he had aviation experience.
He says that he saw a craft that appeared to change shape from a boomerang to a cube in the Table Rock Lake area of Missouri.
There's even video of one of the strange sights that were witness included in the video above. Here's a snapshot.
Dan - "definitely was more of a boomerang shape…And I could almost see multiple lights within within that shape.
But then when it when it went back up in the air, it fragmented or separated…and then it resembled more of what I would consider a cube-type configuration…can't explain it".
He went on to elaborate on how the objects he saw were either doing surveillance on him or maybe even trying to communicate in some way.
It's easy to dismiss stories like this as imaginations gone wild, but I think Dan's aviation background in the military makes his story much more compelling considering he is very familiar with what conventional craft and objects can and cannot do.

TR-3B Black Manta: The secret US aircraft with ‘anti-gravity’ technology

Have you ever seen or heard stories of a black triangular object hovering at low altitudes? For three decades, the object has been reported as a silent black UFO with bright colored lights in its centre.
It is said to be a secret US aircraft called TR-3B Black Manta. Typically observed at night, the TR-3B is rumoured to have a steady geometry that silently loiters in the air and vanishes like a state change.
The visible bright pulsating lights change through modes, giving the UFO a mysterious look. The aircraft is allegedly a top-secret, anti-gravity reconnaissance aircraft developed by the US military under a black project.
A black project is a classified military project not formally acknowledged by a government or associated authorities.
What is a TR-3B Black Manta, and what is it possibly designed for?
While the existence of the TR-3B UFO is speculative, the strong pattern of sightings in different parts of the world suggests the presence of a purpose-built aircraft.
A recent article from Medium, which focused on the physics and engineering of the TR-3B, states that the UFO shows two operational patterns.
A steady power mode showing silent low-altitude hovers for station-keeping, and a pulsed mode revealing state-change transitions through speeds and altitudes.
The sightings imply that the TR-3B is purposely designed to perform station control, power transitioning, and thermal management under atmospheric loads.
The Black Manta is speculated to also have what is known as the “anti-gravity” technology. While having no gravity is impossible, counteracting the gravity in various ways can be achieved.
The UFO may use nuclear energy to accelerate high-pressure plasma, creating an anti-gravity field around it.
Moreover, specialised thrust generators onboard the UFO offer rapid transitions in speed, orientation, and position.
Military.com states that the plasma created through nuclear reactions significantly reduces radar signatures, enhancing the aircraft’s survivability and lethality.
The perceived capability coincides with the TR-3B’s reported sightings at various locations. The aircraft can fly to any part of the world undetected by most air traffic radars and defence systems.
The design elements were determined from hundreds of Black Triangle sightings
The National Institute of Discovery Science (NIDS) conducted an extensive investigation into the black triangle sighting, following the accumulation of over 150 separate reports from the US, Canada, and Europe.
All reports suggested the sighting of a large, low-flying triangle object. Based on the NIDS reports and from the accounts of independent aircraft designers, the size, thrust, and payload approximations of the black triangle were estimated.
The NIDS concluded that the black triangular-shaped object is a very large, brightly lit, and extremely silent craft. It is mostly sighted near water, including lakes.
Moreover, its ability to quickly accelerate from a hovering position suggests the use of powerful nuclear-based technology. The Black Manta may be designed to conduct intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
Given the aircraft’s relatively flat triangular shape, as suggested by numerous sightings, a range of advanced systems can be installed.
From aperture radars and high-resolution cameras, to Electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors, the patterns suggest sensing and data-gathering missions.
With its low observability and minimal signatures, the TR-3B seems to operate in specific timeframes while having significantly long station times.
Moreover, if Black Manta is indeed a human-built aircraft, it could be designed as a technology demonstrator to explore advanced technologies for future IS aircraft.
