US Fighter Jets Intercept Civilian Aircraft Flying Near Trump's Mar-a-Lago

The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said F-16 fighter jets intercepted a plane that entered restricted airspace near President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate ‌in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 29.

The civilian aircraft entered a temporary flight restriction zone near the estate at about 1:15 p.m. ET, prompting fighter jets to dispense flares in response, which were visible to the public, NORAD said in a press release.

NORAD said the flares were intended to get the pilot’s attention and are designed “with the highest regard for safety, burn out quickly and completely, and pose no danger to people on the ground.”

The fighter jets subsequently escorted the plane safely out of the area, according to NORAD, which oversees the airspace of the United States and Canada.

“The situation was resolved safely,” NORAD wrote in a social media post.

NORAD did not specify where the aircraft originated from or where it was heading. It also remains unclear whether the president was present at the time of the incident.

Temporary flight restrictions are imposed when aviation authorities seek to block off some airspaces for a limited time. These restrictions could be in place because of national security situations, major sporting events, or natural disasters, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

NORAD stated that when an intercept happens, pilots of the aircraft must immediately come up on frequency 121.5 or 243.0 and turn their plane around to reverse course until they receive further instructions on one of those frequencies.

“NORAD employs a layered defense network of radars, satellites, and fighter aircraft to identify and respond to potential threats,” it said.

FBI Investigating Tucker Carlson for Suspected Disloyalty to Israel

The FBI has reportedly opened an investigation of Tucker Carlson focusing on the former Fox News host’s suspected disloyalty to Israel.

The investigation, referred to the FBI by the CIA, focuses on allegations that Carlson has failed to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite being an agent of the United States of America. Under FARA, anyone who advocates for, or acts on behalf of, any nation other than Israel, even the United States itself, is required to register as a foreign agent.

Foreign agents are defined in § 611(c)(1) of FARA as:

1) Any person who acts as an agent, employee, or under the control of anyone except Israel, and 2) advocates in the interests of anyone except Israel.

Israeli agent Laura Loomer, who has never been suspected of dual loyalties, says she is the one who turned Carlson in as an American agent: “If Tucker “America First” Carlson gets charged for violating FARA…I’m taking credit… You have no idea how relentless I have been in speaking to GOP reps and even reporting Tucker to law enforcement and the DoJ.”

According to legal analysts, anyone who has any contact with citizens of any country other than Israel, and who says anything positive about that country, can be prosecuted under FARA. Tucker Carlson’s extensive contacts with Americans, and his repeated advocacy of the USA and its interests, make him especially vulnerable to charges of being an American agent.

The Justice Department will bring charges against Carlson if they can produce evidence that he has ever made any contact with Americans, especially American officials, in such a way as to suggest that he will be advocating for the interests of the United States of America rather than Israel. To defend himself, Carlson would need to show that the Americans he dealt with were actually controlled by and acting in the interests of Israel, whether due to AIPAC bribes, Epstein-style blackmail, or fear of exploding consumer electronic devices.

Something appears to be fraying in relations between Israel and Ukraine, as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited four Arab countries in the Middle East — Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Bahrain — without stopping in Israel.

It was not the first time Zelensky skipped Israel. Since the Oct. 7 attack, several attempts were made to arrange a visit by the Ukrainian leader, but none materialized, at least one of them because preparations for the trip were leaked.

Since the outbreak of the war between Russia and Ukraine, officials in Kyiv have not hidden their disappointment with Israel, particularly over its refusal to provide weapons for fear of angering Moscow.

Israel limited its assistance to humanitarian aid, including a field hospital, help with water purification systems and, eventually, an early warning system modeled on Israel’s Red Alerts, aimed at reducing the amount of time Ukrainians spend in shelters.

Israeli officials estimate that around 100 million shekels, or roughly $32 million, has been donated to Ukraine since the war in Europe began — a relatively modest amount compared with European countries, though Israel is neither a member of the European Union nor NATO. Ukrainians, however, had expected more and did not hide their disappointment with the scale of support.

More recently, Ukraine’s ambassador to Israel, Yevgen Korniychuk, cast doubt in an interview on the effectiveness of the early warning system Israel transferred to Kyiv. He said the Israeli system did not necessarily operate optimally and added that one of the systems sent to Kyiv had even been deemed unsuitable by local authorities, calling it “an unpleasant story.” In Israel, his comments were not well received and were seen as ungrateful.
