Taking shape, the new face of Mount Rushmore
Secured by ropes, a team of intrepid sculptors chisel away at a very famous quiff as the shock first addition to Mount Rushmore in 85 years is revealed by the Daily Mail.
The world-renowned memorial to the US's most revered presidents, in South Dakota, is having a controversial fifth face added in the form of one Donald J Trump.
The 45th and 47th US president is joining legendary predecessors George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.
Washington and Jefferson were founding fathers, Lincoln won the Civil War and Roosevelt the Nobel Peace Prize. To be diplomatic, it is possible that Mr Trump's biggest achievements may still lay ahead.
Rolf Paoli, who led the Trump 4 Rushmore campaign, said: 'Yes, Jefferson and Roosevelt were great men, but could they have hosted The Apprentice? I don't think so.'
Mr Trump, 79, is said to have ordered the works on the first day of his second term in 2025.
The original 60ft profiles cost $1million between 1927 and 1941. Experts say that in today's money, Mr Trump's elaborate hairdo alone will set taxpayers back $50million.
