IDF: Iranian ballistic missile commander killed in Kermanshah strike
The IDF said Thursday it eliminated Makram Atimi, commander of a central Iranian ballistic missile unit, in a precise airstrike in the Kermanshah area.
The military said Atimi was responsible for dozens of missile launches toward Israel.
In a separate strike, the military said it also killed several battalion commanders from the same unit, which it said was behind repeated launches from northwestern Iran.

AI-powered drone technology successfully trialled to identify landmines and explosive ordnance.
The trial demonstrated that AI models can be rapidly retrained to recognise new threat types and adapt to different environment.
Follows Ministers’ commitment to double investment in autonomous systems to £4bn this parliament.
UK military personnel are set to be better protected on the battlefield as a result of trials which demonstrate cutting-edge AI in drones can rapidly recognise new threats, such as landmines and other explosive ordnance.
The major trial by the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) on behalf of the British Army allowed bomb-disposal experts to conduct their mission faster through rapid detection.
Conducted with 33 Engineer Regiment (Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Search) at their Essex base, the trial over the course of several weeks saw dozens of replica mines and ordnance placed across varied terrain and land environments.
Data captured by sensors onboard small uncrewed aerial systems was relayed to Army operators, who used AI tools to locate and identify the munitions.
The trial also successfully demonstrated the ability to rapidly retrain AI models to recognise emerging threat types and adapt to different environments - a capability that is critical in fast-evolving modern warfare.
As seen in Ukraine, where drones and explosive devices are reshaping the battlefield at pace.
Through its Strategic Defence Review this government is doubling investment in autonomous platforms - from £2bn to £4bn this parliament.
Minister for Defence Readiness and Industry, Luke Pollard MP said:
This trial is exactly the kind of innovation the Strategic Defence Review calls for - harnessing AI, drones and autonomous systems to boost deterrence and make our Armed Forces stronger.

Dstl’s technical lead for the trial said:
The threat posed by explosive ordnance is constantly changing and so must the tools and techniques required to deal with it safely.
Dstl brings a comprehensive understanding of the science and technology, as well as the specialist industry suppliers who provide the different elements.
We are testing, adapting and demonstrating this technology so that, working closely with the end user, we can develop concepts that let our forces compete on the modern battlefield.
Major Mark Fetters, British Army Future Counter-Explosive Ordnance Capability lead, said:
The modern battlefield is littered with explosive ordnance. The equipment being developed by Dstl will allow EOD operators to conduct their mission faster and will remove people from the explosive hazard.
We are also looking to understand how the capability will grow as other technologies mature.
As different types of sensors become lighter, more power-efficient, and smaller, they will be able to fit on to smaller uncrewed aerial systems - constantly improving the capability available to our EOD and Search personnel.
Building on these results, further trials will take place this year to mature the technology and guide the procurement of a deployable capability that can be placed directly into soldiers’ hands.

Almost 1000 drones lit up Belfast harbour on Monday with a 'recreation' of the RMS Titanic.
The drone display will be broadcast to audiences as part of a 'Made Of Here' film on BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC Two Northern Ireland tonight, Thursday, April 2, at 8pm - the same time and date the Titanic set sail from Belfast in 1912.
The BBC’s 'Made Of Here' campaign is a tribute to the hometowns and cities across the UK which have inspired some of the BBC’s most iconic TV shows and characters.
A spokesperson said: "At the campaign’s heart is a short film that highlights the BBC’s unique ability to connect with people across the UK through outstanding homegrown storytelling, whether that’s in landmark dramas, laugh-out-loud comedies or memorable factual programmes.
The display was inspired by the four-part BBC factual series Titanic Sinks Tonight, which was filmed and produced in Northern Ireland by Belfast-based independent production company Stellify Media.
"Titanic Sinks Tonight, which originally aired in December 2025, has become the BBC’s biggest history documentary of 2025/26 so far, with an audience of more than two million viewers across the UK and almost half of viewers watching on BBC iPlayer."
Northern Ireland is the latest location to be featured by the campaign, following activity in Liverpool, Birmingham and Glasgow.

U.S. forces hit stealth drone in Iran raid

United States Central Command has released new footage from strikes on Iran as part of Operation Epic, with the video appearing to show the destruction of an Iranian Shahed-171 Simorgh stealth drone or its Shahed-191 version, one of Tehran’s most advanced unmanned aerial platforms.
The footage was released as the campaign entered its fifth week, according to a statement from CENTCOM Commander Adm. Brad Cooper, who said U.S. forces were continuing to degrade Iran’s military capabilities across multiple domains.
“Now in our 5th week of the campaign, it is my operational assessment that we are making undeniable progress. We don’t see their navy sailing.
We don’t see their aircraft flying, and their air and missile defense systems have largely been destroyed,” Cooper said in the statement.
The newly released video reportedly captures a strike on an Iranian military site where the Shahed-171 Simorgh was present.
The aircraft visible in the footage has been identified as the stealth drone, a platform that has drawn attention for its flying-wing configuration and close resemblance to the U.S. RQ-170 Sentinel.
The Shahed-171 is widely believed to be derived from the RQ-170, the U.S. stealth reconnaissance drone that Iran claimed to have captured in 2011.
That incident became one of the most closely watched intelligence and technology episodes in the region, with Tehran later unveiling several indigenous drones that appeared to be based on the aircraft’s design.

The Count Is Now Eight: Two more scientists connected to UFO research and sensitive American information are either dead or missing

We have covered this story twice now and each time we do the number goes up. When we first wrote about it there were five. Then six.
The Daily Mail published a new report on March 31st and the count is now eight. Two new cases have been added to a pattern that is becoming impossible to dismiss as coincidence.
Frank Maiwald was a prominent researcher at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory who died in Los Angeles on July 4th, 2024 at the age of 61.
Nobody has ever disclosed his cause of death. Authorities confirmed they never performed an autopsy. NASA has never publicly commented on his death. He has been dead for nearly two years and there is no public record of what killed him.
Anthony Chavez was a former worker at Los Alamos National Laboratory, the nuclear research facility founded during the Manhattan Project, who disappeared without a trace on May 4th, 2025. No explanation. No resolution. Gone.
The Full Picture
That brings the complete list to eight people, all connected in varying degrees to nuclear research, advanced propulsion, satellite systems, NASA, or UFO and UAP programs, who have died or vanished under suspicious circumstances since mid-2024.
Monica Reza, a NASA scientist, disappeared while hiking in the Angeles National Forest on June 22nd, 2025. Two friends saw her thirty feet away. They looked back and she was gone. No trace.
Melissa Casias, an administrative assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory, vanished on June 26th, 2025. Both of her phones were found at home wiped clean after a factory reset.
Retired Major General Neil McCasland, who oversaw the Air Force’s $2.2 billion science and technology program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and was named in the 2016 Wikileaks emails as an advisor on UFO disclosure, walked out of his New Mexico home on February 27th, 2026 without his phone, wearable devices, or prescription glasses and has not been seen since.
Nuno Loureiro, director of the Plasma Science and Fusion Center at MIT and reportedly on the verge of a breakthrough in plasma physics and fusion energy, was assassinated at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts on December 15th, 2025.
Authorities identified the gunman as a former classmate from Portugal.
Carl Grillmair, a 67-year-old astrophysicist, was shot and killed on his front porch at six in the morning on February 16th, 2026.
Jason Thomas, a pharmaceutical researcher testing cancer treatments at Novartis, was found dead in a lake in Wakefield, Massachusetts on March 17th, 2026 after disappearing three months earlier.
Police said no foul play is suspected. His cause of death has still not been determined.
What Congress Is Saying
Republican Congressman Tim Burchett told the Daily Mail that several of these people have disappeared under suspicious circumstances and that the public ought to be paying attention.
He called McCasland’s disappearance a major national security issue, noting the general was privy to America’s nuclear secrets and had worked with recovered UFO technology.
Eight people.
Nuclear labs. UFOs. NASA JPL. MIT. The Air Force. Pharmaceutical research with Pentagon contracts. Dead or missing across a roughly twenty-month window.
Several with documented connections to each other and to programs that deal in classified knowledge about advanced propulsion, energy, and extraterrestrial phenomena.
The Daily Mail stops well short of claiming a conspiracy but I won’t.
This is a conspiracy.
Eight cases with this much institutional overlap in this compressed a timeframe does not happen randomly.
Someone or something is systematically eliminating the people who know the most about America’s most sensitive scientific programs and nobody in a position of power is treating it with the urgency it deserves.
A congressman giving quotes to a tabloid is not an investigation. A few local news segments is not accountability. This pattern has been building for twenty months and the national media has largely ignored it.
The number keeps going up. At some point that stops being a coincidence and starts being a body count.

Rep. Burchett to Newsmax: Public Has a Right to Know on UFOs

Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., said Wednesday on Newsmax's "Finnerty" that "the public has a right to know" about UFO-related information, arguing that government secrecy has gone too far and must end.
"We need full disclosure," Burchett said, adding, "the public has a right to know, dadgummit, it's your tax dollars. Let's get it out there."
Burchett, a member of the House Oversight and Foreign Affairs Committees, pointed to what he described as a troubling pattern of secrecy and unexplained incidents involving individuals tied to sensitive programs.
"There are no coincidences in this town," he said. "These folks have disappeared or died mysteriously.
"The only thing that ties them together is outer space, whether it's UFOs or nuclear secrets or missiles."
He criticized what he called entrenched bureaucratic control over information, recounting a closed-door briefing where he was told "the president is on a need-to-know basis."
Burchett said, "I think that says everything. There's an arrogance."
Describing layers of secrecy, he added: "It's just layers of the onion, you peel one off and there's another one underneath, we've got a real problem."
Burchett suggested some of the mysterious cases may be connected, dismissing the idea of coincidence. "I think overall … there is a connection there," he said. "People just do not disappear … not in this day and age."
While declining to directly address explosive claims from former Rep. Matt Gaetz about alleged alien-human programs, Burchett emphasized the seriousness of what he has personally been told.
"I've been briefed by just about every alphabet agency there is," he said. "If they would release the things that I've seen, you'd be up at night worrying about or thinking about it.
"We just need to disclose it all. I'm sick of it."
He revealed he recently received a classified briefing that he believes would have shocked the public. "It would have set the earth on [fire], this country would have come unglued. [Americans] would demand answers."
Burchett warned that information continues to be suppressed as key witnesses disappear. "It just keeps getting covered up and the people that know are dying or disappearing," he said.
He also called for greater presidential engagement, saying, "The president doesn't know the questions to ask … a few of us are going to have to get with the president and tell him what he needs to ask and where he needs to look."
Reiterating his central point, Burchett concluded: "The public has a right to know."

Luis Elizondo has become a central figure in the modern discourse surrounding Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) due to his alleged involvement with the Pentagon’s Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).
His revelations and subsequent claims have been both groundbreaking and controversial, fueling numerous debates regarding the U.S. government’s engagement with UAPs.
In an unprecedented revelation, The Black Vault was the first to report that the Department of Defense (DoD) had destroyed Elizondo’s emails, a move that surprised many and intensified the scrutiny surrounding the government’s handling of this sensitive subject.
It also hindered efforts to verify many of Elizondo’s claims, with the use of what would likely reside in these emails. Therefore, this presented a significant barrier to the standard Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) process while investigating his claims.
Yet, where one door closed, another opened.
Recognizing that communication is a two-way process, The Black Vault initiated a strategic approach.
By targeting FOIA requests on the email archives of DoD personnel who had likely corresponded with Elizondo, it was possible to indirectly recover portions of Elizondo’s email exchanges.
This indirect method, albeit unorthodox, proved to be a way to shed light on conversations that would have otherwise remained obscured.
The archive below, which is still being added to due to the fact that numerous FOIA requests are still open, is a collection of emails offering a glimpse into the world of Luis Elizondo and his interactions within the Department of Defense.
In addition, it also logs those that may have communicated with Elizondo, but according to the FOIA final response, ‘no records’ were found. That is archived here as the inability to find records can be used to fact check claims in the past made.

Donald L. WestName Withheld [10 Pages, 1MB] – The Black Vault has opted to keep the identity of this particular person anonymous.
The name, discovered by The Black Vault, was one that the DoD aimed to not reveal in the FOIA release, and the DoD opted to remove the name in their FOIA case logs that referenced The Black Vault’s request.
As a courtesy, and in the interest in privacy, the name is withheld. However, the documents are here for research and reference. This person was likely a subordinate who, as you can see from the emails, did various tasks for Elizondo.
Notably, this was the person that got DOPSR’s email address that Elizondo utilized to coordinate a review of the FLIR, Gimbal and GoFast videos for use in an internal DoD database.

Marcel Lettre [3 Pages, 1MB] – Marcel Lettre served as the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence at the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) from December 2015 to January 2017.
In this role, he was the principal intelligence advisor to the Secretary of Defense. Lettre’s tenure at the DoD intersected with the time frame during which Luis Elizondo claims he was involved with the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP).
Given the overlapping periods of their service, a request was filed for communications.
McKernan, Brennan [28 Pages, 0.8MB] – Brennan McKernan is a U.S. Navy intelligence analyst who served as director of the Pentagon’s Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF), the unit responsible for collecting and analyzing military UFO/UAP sightings prior to its replacement by newer offices like AARO.
The request, filed by The Black Vault in June of 2021, asked for all communications between McKernan and Elizondo for all dates available.
“No Records” or Other Records Destroyed Archive:
James Clapper [3 Pages, 1MB] – James Clapper served as the U.S. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) from 2010 to 2017, overseeing the country’s 17 intelligence agencies.
Before his tenure as DNI, Clapper held various key positions within the U.S. intelligence community, including the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) from 1992 to 1995 and the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence from 2007 to 2010.
During Clapper’s time in the Department of Defense (DoD), particularly his stint as the Undersecretary, Luis Elizondo was also affiliated with the DoD, so their paths in the sprawling DoD apparatus may have intersected.
A FOIA request which had combined a few names did not yield communications between Elizondo and Clapper. However, above, you will see the release relating to Marcel Lettre, which was in the same combined request as this one.
Donald L. WestMark Sanders [3 Pages, 1MB] – It is likely that Mr. Mark Sanders was the Director of the Foreign Material Program at the time Luis Elizondo stated he briefed him on AATIP, as claimed by Elizondo’s IG complaint, as published by the NY Post.
Although the name was redacted, a DoD resource indicates Sanders was likely in that position.
A request was filed, but it was determined through the processing of the FOIA case that Sanders’ emails were destroyed after he left the DoD in 2017. Therefore, a “no records” determination was given.
Patrick Shanahan – Patrick Shanahan served as the 33rd Deputy Secretary of Defense from July 2017 until January 2019 and then as the Acting Secretary of Defense from January 2019 to June 2019.
Prior to his time in the Pentagon, Shanahan had a distinguished career at Boeing. During his tenure at the Department of Defense (DoD), Luis Elizondo claimed to have headed the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (AATIP) until he resigned from the DoD in 2017.
Given their overlapping time at the Pentagon and the significant attention AATIP and related UAP issues have received, it’s plausible that Shanahan and Elizondo may have had some level of interaction or awareness of each other’s work, however, FOIA case 20-F-0049 showed “no records” were found in regards to communications.
