Week Wraps Aboard Station with Spacesuits, Eye Checks, Robotics, and More

April 3, 2026 4:56PM

Spacesuit work and eye checks wrapped up the week for the Expedition 74 crew aboard the International Space Station. The orbital residents also focused on robotics, cargo transfers, and science hardware maintenance at the end of the week.

ESA (European Space Agency) flight engineer Sophie Adenot tried on a spacesuit on Friday with assistance from NASA flight engineer Jessica Meir inside the Quest airlock.

Adenot wore the suit in a powered and pressurized configuration and tested it for mobility, comfort, and optimal fit. Meir also helped Adenot conduct suit leak and pressure checks while verifying the suit’s communications hardware and life support systems.

NASA flight engineers Jack Hathaway and Chris Williams also worked on spacewalking gear inspecting tethers and their associated components before stowing them inside Quest.

Earlier, Hathaway installed new orbital plumbing gear inside the Tranquility module’s bathroom. At the end of his shift, he reconfigured the Columbus laboratory module to make room for a new experimental exercise machine due to be delivered on the next Cygnus XL resupply mission.

Williams rearranged cargo packed inside the Pressurized Mating Adapter-2 where the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft dock to on the forward port of the Harmony module.

At the end of his shift, Williams led eye exams inside Harmony with Meir and Adenot as his subjects.

Williams operated medical imaging gear that Meir and Adenot peered into while doctors on the ground viewed their retina, lens, and cornea in real-time.

Doctors regularly check the astronauts’ eyes to counteract the potential effects of living in space.

Station commander Sergey Kud-Sverchkov and flight engineer Sergei Mikaev, both Roscosmos cosmonauts, joined each other on Friday and installed power and data cables to support upcoming operations of a new solar radiation experiment.

Roscosmos flight engineer Andrey Fedyaev kicked off his shift cleaning the Nauka science module’s ventilation system before spending the rest of his day updating the software that controls and displays information for the European robotic arm.

Atlas V rocket launches its heaviest-ever payload, sending 29 Amazon internet satellites to orbit

April 4, 2026

A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket launched its heaviest-ever payload on Saturday morning (April 4).

The Atlas V lifted off Saturday at 1:46 a.m. EDT (0546 GMT) from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, carrying 29 satellites for the Amazon Leo broadband constellation to orbit.

Together, those spacecraft weigh 18 tons, according to ULA. The Atlas V successfully deployed all 29 into their target orbit, according to ULA.

The Amazon Leo megaconstellation, previously known as Project Kuiper, will eventually consist of about 3,200 satellites in low Earth orbit.

It's Amazon's answer to SpaceX's Starlink network, which beams internet service down from more than 10,000 satellites (and counting).

Amazon Leo is still in its early stages; just 241 of the spacecraft have reached orbit to date over the course of nine launches (not counting a 2023 liftoff that sent up two prototype satellites).

The Atlas V has now flown five of those operational missions. Three employed SpaceX's Falcon 9, and the other one used Arianespace's Ariane 6 heavy lifter.

Saturday's launch, which Amazon called LA-05, was the first Atlas V mission to loft 29 Amazon Leo satellites; the others carried 27 of the spacecraft.

"The increase is a result of detailed engineering work between Amazon Leo and ULA, and is made possible by a new, higher-performing version of the RL10C engine used on the rocket's Centaur upper stage," Amazon representatives wrote in a mission description.

"While the engine has flown on previous missions, LA-05 marks the first time the program has completed the extensive engineering and safety analysis required to use it with our larger payload."

And that payload was larger in a significant way, according to the LA-05 mission description: "With 29 satellites aboard, LA-05 will mark the heaviest payload ever flown on an Atlas V."

EXCLUSIVE: SDA’s Sandhoo likely to lead Space Force Missile Warning & Tracking portfolio

April 03, 2026 2:15 pm

It is unclear whether Gurpartap "GP" Sandhoo will keep his role as SDA acting director under a double-hat, but one industry source said that is the most likely solution at least in the near term.

The Space Force intends to tap the acting director of the Space Development Agency (SDA), Gurpartap “GP” Sandhoo, to lead its new Missile Warning and Tracking Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) office, multiple sources have told Breaking Defense.

In that job, Sandhoo will be responsible for developing the sensor satellites required to enable the Trump administration’s Golden Dome missile defense initiative.

While not yet finalized, the move is in the final stages of internal paperwork at the Department of the Air Force, according to a half dozen Space Force and industry sources. The department is responsible for overseeing Space Force acquisition.

An SDA spokesperson referred questions for this report to Space Force Public Affairs.

“The Space Force has not yet assigned the Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Missile Warning and Tracking. We will provide additional information once a decision is made,” a Space Force spokesperson said.

The Space Force announced the creation of the Missile Warning and Tracking PAE office on March 17. Tom Ainsworth, who is performing the duties of the Air Force assistant secretary for Space Acquisition and Integration, told the annual McAleese Defense Programs Conference that the PAE would cover both legacy missile warning and tracking constellations now in operations and ongoing development programs across all orbital regimes.

“So, that is a big portfolio,” he said.

The programs currently include SDA’s Tracking Layer of satellites in low Earth orbit, and the two flagship efforts by Space Systems Command.

The first is the Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared (Next-Gen OPIR) constellation, which will be comprised of two satellites in geosynchronous Earth orbit and two in polar orbit.

Next-Gen OPIR is being developed to replace the six operational Space-Based Infrared System (SBIRS) satellites.

SSC’s second effort is the Resilient Missile Warning and Tracking (MWT) Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) program, that will be optimized for tracking hypersonic missiles.

One Space Force official explained that bringing all the programs for detecting and tracking ballistic and hypersonic missiles together is meant to ease officials’ ability to ensure compatibility and that the various ground systems are integrated.

Clayton Swope, senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that it also “makes sense when you’re trying to cut costs.”

At the same time, he warned, consolidating programs is “not the best solution when you’re trying to encourage innovation because more entities looking at the same problem leads to more ideas” — cautioning that any organization that results in “quasi-merging SDA into a bigger program dilutes its raison d’etre.”

However, it is unclear whether SDA will be subsumed into the new Space Force PAE structure.

Congressional approval would be needed to change SDA’s legal status as a direct reporting agency to Ainsworth’s office for acquisition issues and to Chief of Space Operations Gen. Chance Saltzman for all other matters such as personnel management.

A more likely scenario is that Sandhoo keeps his current SDA position and wears two hats, one industry source said.

Indeed, another industry source close to the debate said that Sandhoo’s likely leadership of the missile and tracking PAE would result not in SDA being dismantled, but actually gaining “more power.”

At least 16 killed, 63 others injured over past 24 hours

Russia and Ukraine on Saturday accused each other of overnight drone attacks, claiming that at least 16 people were killed and 63 others injured over the last 24 hours.

Ukraine’s General Staff said Saturday on Telegram that Moscow launched 286 drones across the country, with 260 shot down.

In Ukraine's Sumy region, 13 people were injured during an overnight strike, Serhii Kryvosheienko, head of the City’s Military Administration, said on Telegram.

Dnipropetrovsk Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram that Russia attacked two districts of the region more than 20 times with drones, artillery, and aerial bombs, injuring three people.

Later in the day, he announced that five people were killed and 22 others injured in Russia's Saturday morning attack on Nikopol.

Oleh Syniehubov, head of the military administration in the Kharkiv region, said four people were killed and 11 injured in shelling over the past 24 hours.

Donetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin said on Telegram that six people were killed and 10 others injured in the region over the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its forces intercepted 85 Ukrainian unmanned aircraft over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Samara, Saratov, and Tula regions, as well as over Crimea, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014, and the Black Sea.

The governor of the Rostov region, Yuri Slusar, said on Telegram that one person was killed and four others were injured in Taganrog during a nighttime drone attack.

A commercial vessel was damaged in the waters of the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov, and a fire later broke out but was brought under control, he added.

“The dry cargo ship, flying the flag of a foreign state, was located a few kilometers from the coastline,” he said.

WSJ editorial says Trump avoided 'North Korea mistake' on Iran

President Donald Trump decided to use military force to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon after diplomacy failed, the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board wrote in an opinion piece, arguing Washington’s experience with North Korea suggests the alternatives were even riskier.

“Diplomacy failed to stop Pyongyang from getting the bomb. Trump didn’t make the same mistake,” the editorial said.

It said negotiations, sanctions and agreements failed to prevent North Korea from becoming a nuclear power.

The editorial said similar diplomatic efforts were pursued with Iran, arguing they left nuclear infrastructure intact while Tehran continued its program.

“Donald Trump is the only President who had the courage to attack Iran’s nuclear program and allow Israel to do so,” it said.

Unmanned military drone involved in ‘mishap’ outside Las Vegas

Updated: Apr 3, 2026 / 04:26 PM PDT

An unmanned military drone landed Friday near Creech Air Force Base northwest of Las Vegas in what a spokesperson called a “mishap.”

The Clark County Fire Department responded to a report of an “aircraft crash” around 9:30 p.m. near U.S. 95 in Indian Springs. The crash location is not far from the base that administers and pilots military drones.

Sources described the incident as a “crash.” A spokesperson for the 432nd Wing said an aircraft landed northwest of the base and there was no damage.

The spokesperson added that no one was hurt and an investigation was underway.

On Tuesday, March 31, an F-35 crashed in the Nevada Test and Training Range. The pilot ejected before the crash and was treated for minor injuries.

Last September, a piece of military equipment crashed not far from the base, leading to a temporary flight restriction.

Congress demands Dept of War release 46 secret UFO videos: ‘You’re gonna see some weird f–king s–t’

April 4, 2026, 5:30 a.m. PT

Members of Congress are demanding 46 military videos from the Department of War which insiders say offer convincing proof that advanced, non-human craft are operating on Earth.

Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) requested the long list of explosively titled files on Wednesday, which include 45 previously unreleased military clips.

The presence of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena “in and around the sensitive airspaces of US military installations poses a threat to the security of the armed forces and their readiness,” according to the April 1 letter addressed to Secretary Pete Hegseth.

Those with knowledge of the long list of videos — which include titles like “Several UAP in vicinity of Columbus OH airport” and “UFOs in formation over Persian Gulf” — said the clips are shocking.

“You’re gonna see some weird f–king s–t,” a source who has viewed the videos told The Post.

The wildest clips include radar footage from thermal sensors, satellite images, and underwater photos of swarms of Unidentified Submerged Objects, the insider said.

One video shows several USOs going in and out of the water near a highly classified submarine, according to the source.

Some of the clips are in clear, full color, setting them apart from previously released footage. None show alien creatures.

One video on the list, titled “Syrian UAP instant acceleration, 2021,” was released on Feb. 3 by independent journalist Jeremy Corbell.

That military radar footage showed a small, circular craft that is followed by a radar operator before it zooms off, demonstrating “instantaneous acceleration” — a marker of advanced science not known to man.

Some craft may have conventional explanations, such as secretive US military projects, according to the insider.

Congress is not going into this request blind — with two sources telling The Post moles within the intelligence community have eyes on the files being requested and they’ll blow the whistle if the videos are moved, altered, or deleted by anyone.

The Department of War is expected to hand over the clips by April 14, according to the letter.

Luna’s office did not respond to request for comment.

UAPDA sponsor “working NDAA stuff now” but UFO hurdle remains, “Issue last time was the House”

Apr 04, 2026

Sen. Mike Rounds (R-SD) — Senate Intel & Armed Services Committees

Ask a Pol asks:

Rep. Eric Burlison tells Ask a Pol UAP he’s looking to revive your UAP Disclosure Act with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.

With President Donald Trump now promising unparalleled UFO disclosure, do you think the UAPDA has a better chance of making it into the annual, must-pass NDAA — National Defense Authorization Act — this year?

Key Rounds:

“We’re still working NDAA stuff now,” Sen. Mike Rounds exclusively tells Ask a Pol UAP. “I would like to see some language in it to move this thing along a little bit.”

Curious if you guys now have an ally with the Trump White House?

“I hope we do,” Rounds says.

Caught our ear:

“The issue last time was the House and their concerns,” Rounds tells us. “We’ll have to work with the House to allay the concerns they may have.

“And I have the same concerns that they have. And that is, I don’t want to release anything that’s vital for our national security.

I want to have it done correctly, but vetted so that we don’t give out any information that would otherwise endanger any of our classified programs.”

Rep. Tim Burchett Warns Classified UAP Briefing Contains Explosive Information That Could ‘Set the Earth on Fire’

April 3, 2026

WASHINGTON — Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.), a vocal advocate for UAP transparency and member of the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, issued a stark warning this week about classified briefings on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), suggesting the revelations are so profound they would shock the American public and leave people "up at night worrying."

In a recent appearance on Newsmax, Burchett told host Rob Finnerty that he has been briefed by "just about every alphabet agency there is." He stated that full release of what he has seen would cause the country to become "unglued," with citizens demanding immediate answers.

He specifically referenced a classified session approximately two weeks prior, describing the information as something that "would’ve set the Earth on fire."

Burchett stopped short of disclosing classified details, consistent with legal restrictions on members of Congress handling sensitive information.

However, he urged President Donald Trump—who earlier this year vowed to direct agencies to release files related to UFOs, UAP, and "alien and extraterrestrial life"—to push for full disclosure.

He added a pointed remark: "For the record, I’m not suicidal, and I don’t take risks," amid longstanding allegations in UAP circles of threats or suspicious deaths among those with knowledge of the topic.

His comments come amid heightened interest in UAP following years of congressional hearings, whistleblower testimony, and Pentagon reports acknowledging unexplained aerial sightings, some exhibiting technology beyond known human capabilities.

Burchett has long criticized what he sees as excessive government secrecy on the issue, previously introducing the UAP Transparency Act and participating in efforts to declassify records.

Connections to Broader Claims of Non-Human Intelligence and Hybrids Burchett’s remarks align with separate, unverified claims from former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who recently alleged he was briefed by a uniformed U.S. Army member on secret military programs involving "hybrid breeding" between captured extraterrestrials and humans.

Gaetz described alleged facilities—between six and 12 across the country—where such activities supposedly occurred, with humans reportedly taken from war zones or migrant caravans, aimed at creating hybrids for intergalactic communication.

Gaetz has emphasized he did not independently verify the claims.

These accounts fuel speculation about non-human intelligence interacting with or present among humanity.

Some interpretations of recent congressional and whistleblower discussions suggest the possibility of "unique life forms" or entities that have been on or visiting Earth for extended periods, potentially including deep-water or underwater phenomena (USOs) that Burchett and others have referenced in past statements.

Burchett has previously speculated about entities that "have been on this earth for who knows how long," possibly operating from ocean depths rather than solely outer space.

Adding to the intrigue is the unexplained disappearance in late February of retired Air Force Maj. Gen. William "Neil" McCasland, 68, who once commanded the Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base—a site long tied to UFO lore and rumors of recovered materials from incidents like Roswell.

McCasland left his Albuquerque home without his phone or glasses, taking hiking boots, a wallet, and a handgun. His wife expressed concerns in a 911 call that he "planned not to be found."

Search efforts continue, with no evidence of foul play confirmed, though the case has drawn attention due to his background in advanced aerospace research and past mentions in UFO-related discussions.

Skepticism and Calls for Evidence, including former Rep. Denver Riggleman, have dismissed such narratives as unsubstantiated fantasy, noting a lack of publicly verifiable evidence for crashed craft, non-human biologics, or hybrid programs.

Official Pentagon statements continue to attribute most UAP reports to mundane explanations like balloons, drones, or sensor artifacts, while acknowledging a small percentage remain unexplained.

No concrete evidence has been publicly released confirming the existence of alien-human hybrids, recovered extraterrestrial bodies, or programs involving non-human entities living among the population.

Burchett’s push reflects growing bipartisan frustration with perceived bureaucratic resistance to transparency, even as legislation like the UAP Transparency Act seeks to force declassification.

As demands for disclosure intensify—particularly with Trump’s stated interest in releasing files—the debate highlights tensions between national security concerns and the public’s right to know.

Burchett and like-minded lawmakers argue that continued secrecy erodes trust and that the American people can handle the truth, whatever form it takes.

For now, the full scope of what Burchett and others have been shown in classified settings remains behind closed doors.

Whether those details involve advanced technology, unknown biologics, or something more startling about potential non-human presence on Earth, pressure is mounting for elected officials to bring the information into the light for public and congressional scrutiny. This story is developing.

Top UFO Expert REVEALS What Technology the U.S. Military Has Reverse Engineered from Aliens:

Dr. Steven Greer: “Anything you have seen on Stark Trek, we already have in the Lockheed Skunk Works”

"So you have objects that are man made, that are disc, spherical, triangular, and other shapes that can go from hover to 300,000 miles per hour instantly. And that's man made."

"The energy systems that run these devices, there's no rockets, there's no fuel, there's no jet.

It's a type of physics that deals with zero point energy, or the quantum vacuum, and this is where it's estimated that within that space of a coffee mug, there's enough latent energy to boil off all the oceans of the world. It's called the zero point energy field.

Tesla called it the infinite energy field."
