Thou is a translation of the word Logos.
Logos is a Greek word. It was used by Aesop of Aesops fables. He would use it at the end of a fable to indicate the saying or meaning of the story.
Thou Sayest
You’ve heard it said but Thou sayest.
It is trying to indicate the allegory.
It wasn’t until the Medieval times did the Bible become so taught to be literal. After the Crusaders and the Inquisition.
Prior to this it was widely known and taught to be an allegory.
Allegory isn’t false.
It’s just a myth to explain what can’t be seen.
Christians can’t grasp this. Without it being literal they can’t teach the Bible or understand it. They must have it be literal so they can go to a heaven.
They are all Nicodemus. They ask how to live forever and Jesus tells them to be born again and they take him literal.
