>you pay for it no matter the pitch

Maybe,

Order from Chyna & chyna Gov pays postage.

Aussie PO does the delivery this end for free?

chyna do add 10%, which maybe goes to GST ?

But everything is dirt cheap, and with chyna gov picking up tab for postage…easyAs.

If order 100 or 1000 worth of stuff from u-s-I price doubles with freight cost, then doubles again exch rate, and then local port adds "fees".. u-s-I is not an EXPORTER, as to exy$

>even older Japanese motorcycle parts

Agree, the UK has a "cottage" industry also. makes stuff expensive VS mass-production.

fwiw did you know, when Japs build a bike, they by law have to stock parts for x years in countries they ship to, at least in Aussie.

Thing is, say that "part stock" has to be held for say 10ys… when get to 7-8 yrs the price of parts doubles or more. Sure cheaper to buy new than refurb. But the "trick" is when those parts (now 2x-3x OG price), get written off on tax, as obsolete. they sell of by container load for some $$$ but the money hit is the tax deduct.

eg chyna shipping EV's to Aust, rulez say they are "sold"…infact stockpiled, ready for a tax deduction.

>if it lasts 10 times longer bcs it's higher quality

>isn't it actually cheaper?

Well yes, to us oldies still using "Good" / "quality" stuff & see that "value" in buying prime product.

Thing is, world has changed, mass prod = mass consumerism = Gotta get the new shade of gold iPlop… = Gotta haz the lastest & greatest 'cause it's 0.00001 % mega plops faster…"consumerism" and is driven by FOMO, and that is how the world has been trained, at least in the west. If anon sold "boots" or "socks" and sold a pair to 26m Aussies, then that market is toast…but 26m pairs boots is OK imho. Then sell thongs…
