Amazon is already under fire for its working conditions and paying the lowest UK corporation tax for five years - just £4.6m in 201 or six per cent on profits of £72m as sales soar to £8.8bn as high streets struggle.

According to the patent, filed in the US on Wednesday, the goggles will give turn-by-turn directions on a screen, showing workers where to pick up or place objects in warehouses.

It also describes collecting extremely detailed information that could be used to track an employee’s whereabouts throughout the entire work day.

The goggles would also track “orientation and accelerometer data,” which could translate to things like walking speed and their exact location.

According to the Mirror, there is also a line in the patent that describes how the goggles could even prompt employees who aren’t moving to work harder.

Trade Union GMB has slammed the idea and accused Amazon of “treating staff like robots”.

THE SUN SAYS Amazon’s low tax bill is obscene and the web giant is helping to bankrupt our high street

Some claim it’s just progress. Tell that to those retail staff, or the millions who like shopping in towns and city centres.

What Amazon does is not illegal. So the law must change.

Business rates must be slashed to help shops survive. Their payments dwarf those on Amazon’s warehouses.

And Amazon (along with the other tech giants) must pay tax not on profit but on every British sale, and stop hiding those transactions in Luxembourg.

A FORMER UN weapons inspector lifts the lid on the farcical hunt for Iraq's WMDs including bogus intelligence and being shown a biological graveyard which once had enough deadly agents to wipe out the entire human race.

Rocco Casagrande told The Sun Online how he was tasked with probing Saddam Hussein’s regime from December 2002 until March 2003 – before the US launched its controversial invasion.

The American scientist, who led the UN's biological analysis laboratories, explained how “dead end” intelligence tips led his team to chicken farms which were believed to be facilities hiding scud missiles.

He said: “Every single one of those tips – which I believe were supplied mostly from the Israeli and German governments but also from the US and UK - turned out to be a complete dead end.

“We were told that one facility in a central part of Baghdad was a secret lab - but it turned out to be a residential property with shag carpet on the floor and old people watching television game shows.

“Obviously not the scene of a biological weapons programme.

“We got tips about facilities which were hiding scud missiles - but they all turned out to be chicken farms.

“We did so many of those type of inspections we had T-shirts made up that said UN Ballistic Chicken Farm Inspection Team.”

He said that while some of these tips were generated from aerial imagery, such as from satellites, other information was obviously provided by people.

Casagrande continued: “One tip we got was 'go to this academic campus - then go to this specific building.

“Go into the basement and go into the men's room and go into the last stall in that room and then there's a panel on the wall that hides a key pad.

“Push in these numbers on the key pad and the wall will move to reveal a secret weapons lab. Real James Bond-type stuff.

“But we go to that building and it doesn't even have a basement. It’s on a flat foundation and obviously never even had a basement.” …….
