Eyewitnesses report explosions, air defense activity across Tehran

Explosions and air defense activity were heard across Tehran on Wednesday evening, eyewitnesses told Iran International.
Eyewitnesses said they heard drone activity in southern Jannat Abad, a residential area in west Tehran, at 19:30 local time, as well as about 15 small explosions.
Eyewitnesses also said they heard a loud explosion in Marzdaran, also in west Tehran, at around 19:45.
They said explosions and air defense activity were heard in central Tehran.
At 20:00, eyewitnesses said air defense systems were active in the Mehrabad area, near Tehran’s main domestic airport in the west of the city, and Shahrak-e Esteghlal, a neighborhood in west Tehran.

Ghalibaf questions basis for US-Iran talks, citing violations of proposal

Iran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf saidseveral key clauses of Tehran’s proposed framework for negotiations with the United States have already been violated, casting doubt on the basis for talks expected to begin in Pakistan.
In a statement published on X,Ghalibaf said three provisions of Iran’s 10-point proposal had been breached even before negotiations began.
He cited continued attacks in Lebanon despite what he said was a commitment to an immediate ceasefire, the entry of adrone into Iranian airspace that was later destroyed in the southern city of Lar, and what he described as the denial of Iran’s right to uranium enrichment.
“The very workable basis on whichto negotiate has been openly and clearly violated, even before the negotiations began,” Ghalibaf wrote.
He added that under such circumstances “a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations is unreasonable.”

South Florida islamic group calls Gov. DeSantis-signed law "dangerous" for Muslim community in the state

The Council on American-Islamic Relations(CAIR) spoke out against a new law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis. The group calls the measure dangerous for the Islamic community in Florida.
"Florida should be a place where people of all faiths can worship freely and be protected by the state," said Wilfredo Ruiz, CAIR-Florida Communications Director.
DeSantis signed the bill on Monday, which allows Florida to designate certain groups as domestic terrorist organizations.
"There's a clear message,at least from these lawmakers, that Florida Muslims are not welcome in Florida: that's their message," said Omar Saleh, a CAIR-Florida attorney. (Yeah and Americans agree.)
The law bans the enforcement of foreign or religious law — particularly Sharia Law, the Islamic code.(why this wasn’t banned when they invaded is stupid by the President and Government)
"We've been very strong in Florida from the beginning on all of this nonsense and doing whatever we can to keep people of this state safe,"DeSantis said Monday.
The legislation also ==outlines rules for expelling students at state universities who "promote support for designated terrorist organizations".=+=
CAIR, the state's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group,says no one is enforcing Sharia Law and calls the new legislation "draconian". The group says the law is creating a "police state" and a dangerous and irresponsible narrative, alienating the hundreds of thousands of Muslims living in Florida.
"We need to do a much better job of educating our lawmakersabout what our religion is. Islam is a religion of peace. It is not trying to implement any new laws in the country.We respect the laws that are already in this county, which are already the best in the whole world," said Yunus Ismail of the South Florida Muslim Federation.(they don’t believe that for even a minute.)
The law reinforces an executive order DeSantis issued in December of last year,when he named CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood as foreign terrorist organizations.
CAIR filed a lawsuit in response, and in March, a judge ruled in the group's favor,temporarily blocking the executive order's enforcement. CAIR said it is ready to take legal action again if DeSantis targets the group with this new law.
"The framework of these bills is so vague that we don't know what the next step is going to be with how the government is going to start designating people as terrorists based on ideas they don't believe in," Saleh said.
The law takes effect July 1.

U.S. government attorneys on Tuesday told a federal judge the Department of Homeland Security still intends to deport Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Liberia, despite a new agreement with Costa Rica to accept deportees who cannot legally be returned to their home countries.
The Salvadoran national’s case has become a focal point in the immigration debate after he was mistakenly deported to El Salvador last year. Since his return, he has been fighting a second deportation to a series of African countries proposed by Homeland Security officials.
U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis, of Maryland, previously barred U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from deporting him or detaining him. She has written that the agency has no viable plan to actually deport Abrego Garcia, referring in February to “one empty threat after another to remove him to countries in Africa with no real chance of success.”
