Brisbane introduces 'tall over sprawl' strategy in bid to meet housing demand for next 15 years

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called the disregard for life and international law shown by his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu “intolerable” following the deadliest day since the IDF launched attacks on Lebanon.

Lebanese Prime Minister Dr. Nawaf Salam declared Thursday a national day of mourning, with government offices closed and flags flown at half-staff to honor the victims of the latest Israeli attacks that left at least 182 civilians dead and 890 injured on Wednesday alone. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) said it is “outraged by the devastating death and destruction in densely populated areas across Lebanon” following the latest Israeli strikes on the country.

Knowledge isn't mere accumulation of data but a navigation of perceptions, biases, and justifications toward ontological alignment (what is). Consider two books: "Thinking: Fast and Slow" by Daniel Kahneman and "Blink" by Malcolm Gladwell. Yes, we humans can make mistakes with heuristics, but it seems that having a good 'blink system' can save our lives in an emergency. Experienced intuition can detect what is wrong faster and more accurately than deliberate analysis. In high-stakes, unpredictable situations, too much information can hinder decision-making; instinct often wins. Very often, heuristics are influenced by unconscious factors beyond just the "data", often proving to be correct when all the data and testing are collected. When a person has spent 20 years studying a problem and they have the 'felt experience' that is impossible to AI, I think I would trust the expert, not the machine.

AI is just an elaborate token predicting machine. It depends on the quality of the tokens, AKA 'training data'. AI suffers mainly from curatorial bias. Current AI epitomizes bottom-up epistemology — data-driven, probabilistic pattern-matching without direct phenomenal access — mirroring physicalism's flaws. AI processes "matter-like" data (tokens, vectors) without phenomenal substrate.

As for AI doing your work for you, it is helpful to a limited extent and ONLY if you are something of an expert in the work you are asking it to do. Its research is extremely limited in both breadth and depth. It lives inside a corral and can only fetch what is within that corral. And it is often lazy; even with the most relevant information right there, it will pass over it and ignore it in favor of the 'token prediction' that is conditioned by curatorial bias. And curatorial bias is only as good as the combined perceptions, biases, and justifications toward what is of the curators in question. The California Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered Sheriff Chad Bianco to pause his massive election fraud investigation and preserve the 650,000 ballots he seized.

Last month, a state appellate court rejected California Democrat Attorney General Rob Bonta’s emergency writ to halt Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco’s bombshell investigation into 45,000 extra votes mysteriously counted in the November 2025 special election.

Chad Bianco, a Republican currently running for California governor as a Republican, moved to seize approximately 650,000 ballots and initiate a recount after a citizens’ group reported significant discrepancies, according to CalMatters.

Bianco revealed that a team of 10 investigators had already begun counting ballots before being ordered to halt their work, as part of an ongoing election investigation, The Sun reported.

According to Bianco, the team’s initial progress suggested that counting the approximately 611,000 ballots would take about five days to complete. However, the effort was paused before a full review could be conducted.

Earlier this week Bianco paused his investigation because of the onslaught of legal issues.

California Attorney General Bonta slammed Sheriff Bianco and celebrated the State Supreme Court’s order.

“What the Sheriff says and what he does are often two different things,” Bonta said in a statement.

“Today’s decision by the California Supreme Court reins in the destabilizing actions of a rogue Sheriff, prohibiting him from continuing this investigation while our litigation continues,” he said

Inside the hospital morgue, young men wept openly as they gathered around the lifeless bodies of their relatives lying on blankets on the floor. “Don’t leave me brother,” one man screamed as he put his head on the chest of his dead relative before grabbing his limp hand and putting it to his lips in grief. At least 10 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in the assault, according to the WAFA news agency.

The attack began when members of an Israeli-backed militia raided the eastern part of Al-Maghazi refugee camp, multiple eyewitnesses told Drop Site News. The area was just 50 meters from the “yellow line,” where Israeli troops withdrew after the October “ceasefire” agreement, effectively cleaving the Gaza Strip in half.

“We were shocked when Abu Nasira’s forces—or the militia—entered the neighborhood and began firing at people’s homes and at the children inside those homes,” Ahmed Al-Maghari, a resident who witnessed the attacks, said in reference to an Israeli-backed militia. “Some residents of the neighborhood were forced to go out and defend the area and their community, so they began firing back at the militias that were there,” he said, adding that the area was then targeted by Israeli aircraft with multiple airstrikes.

“There were three or four injured people just three to four meters away from our homes, and we were unable to reach them because of the direct gunfire from the militia,” Al-Maghari said. “Whenever anyone tried to approach to provide aid to the injured, they were immediately targeted by the aircraft.”

An eighth Jane Doe has filed an $8 million legal complaint against the United States Army and Department of Defense, alleging that former Dr. Blaine McGraw sexually abused her during medical appointments at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) administrative complaint, which also names the Defense Health Agency, was filed Tuesday by the law firm Sanford Heisler—which previously filed seven FTCA complaints in December 2025 on behalf of Jane Does 1-7, whose complaints allege they were also sexually abused by McGraw at Tripler Medical Center and Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas.

After a six-month period afforded to an agency to investigate, a litigant can then file suit in federal court.

“[McGraw] clearly had an M.O.,” attorney Christine Dunn, who is representing Jane Doe 8, told Military.com. “He engaged in unnecessary medical exams that really rose to the level of sexual abuse, and I think that's evident in some of the claims we filed in December.

“It's evident in the one we filed today, where he did gratuitous multiple breast exams, those kinds of things. There are a lot of similarities, which is not surprising.”

Iran Threatens Israel, Closes Hormuz Again Over Series Of Massacres In Lebanon

Iran threatened Israel and closed the strategic Strait of Hormuz after a series of violent strikes killed over a hundred in Lebanon.

The strikes came hours after a two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States entered into effect early on April 8. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who brokered the agreement, said that “an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere” was agreed upon.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office issued a statement welcoming the ceasefire at the time, but stressing that it does not cover Lebanon.

Later, U.S. President Donald Trump told PBS that Lebanon was not included in the two-week ceasefire agreement with Iran.

The violent Israeli strikes that targeted the capital, Beirut, the Beqaa Valley and southern Lebanon claimed the lives of over a hundred people.

“The Israeli enemy’s airstrikes on numerous Lebanese areas, reaching the capital Beirut, have led, in an updated non-final toll, to 112 martyrs and 837 wounded,” the Lebanese health ministry said in a statement.

Hezbollah, which halted operations with the start of the ceasefire, said that it has a “right” to respond to the Israeli strikes on Lebanon.

“We affirm that the blood of the martyrs and the wounded will not be shed in vain, and that today’s massacres, like all acts of aggression and savage crimes, confirm our natural and legal right to resist the occupation and respond to its aggression,” the group said in a statement.

An Iranian security source later told the Fars news agency that the Islamic Republic is considering “deterrent operations” against Israel in response to what happened in Lebanon.

The semi-official news agency also reported that Iran has halted the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. It said that only two oil tankers were allowed to pass through the strait after the ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. took effect.

“Simultaneous with Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, the passage of oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz has been stopped,” the agency added.

Several shipping sources confirmed to AFP that Iranian naval forces threatened ships attempting to pass through the strait without Tehran’s permission with destruction, adding that transit through the waterway remained shut,

Following these reports, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that it would respond if Israel did not cease attacks on Lebanon.

“We issue a firm warning to the United States, which violates treaties, and to its Zionist ally, its executioner: if the aggression against beloved Lebanon does not cease immediately, we will fulfill our duty and deliver a response,” the Guards said in a statement carried on state TV, using a reference to Israel.
