Over 100 Loudoun Jail Inmates Released to ICE In First 3 Months of 2026

Patrick Lewis Apr 6, 2026

Over one hundred people have been turned over to federal immigration authorities from the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center so far this year.

In a statement, Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Director of Media RelationsTom Julia told Loudoun Now that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued 194 immigration detainers for inmates being held at the ADC between January 1 and April 5.

Detainers are issued by ICE when a person already being held at a local jail is subject to an immigration warrant. Julia said the inmates were all being held at the ADC on “charges unrelated to immigration status” when ICE issued the detainers.

Through its 287(g) agreement with ICE, the LCSO will hold inmates wanted by ICE for up to 48 hours after their scheduled release from custodyon their non-immigration charges to allow the immigration agents time to take them into federal custody.

So far this year, out of the 194 detainers, Julia said 103 people have been picked up by ICE agents at the jail.

That would put Loudoun on track to release roughly 400 people to ICE this year, significantly more than the 253 released to ICE in 2025. However, that might not happen because of a recent order by Gov. Abigail Spanberger that Sheriff Mike Chapman told lawmakers last month might end Loudoun’s cooperation with ICE.

Pattons favorite quotes

Translator:Excuse me sir, but General Caskov would like to know whether you'll join him to drink the surrender of Germany.

Patton:My compliments to the General. Please inform him that I do not care to drink with him or any other Russian son of a bitch.

Translator: [Nervous]I can't tell him that!

Patton:You tell him that. Tell him word for word.

Translator:[In Russian] He says he will not drink with you or any Russian son of a bitch.

Russian general: [In Russian] Tell him he is a son of a bitch, too. Now!

Translator:[Very nervous] The General says he thinks you are a son of a bitch, too.

Patton:[laughing] All right, I'll drink to that; one son of a bitch to another.

Patton: Now there's another thing I want you to remember.I don't want to get any messages saying that "we are holding our position." We're not holding anything.

Let the Hun do that. We are advancing constantly and we're not interested in holding onto anything except the enemy.

We're going to hold onto him by the nose and we're going to kick him in the ass.

We're going to kick the hell out of him all the time and we're going to go through him like crap through a goose!

I would have loved Patton if I was alive at that time. Stupidity has infested the military, Trump will kick it out.

Patton: Now, there's one thing that you men will be able to say when you get back home. And you may thank God for it. Thirty years from now, when you're sitting around your fireside with your grandson on your knee and he asks you, "What did you do in the great World War II," you won't have to say, "Well… I shoveled shit in Louisiana."

Clergyman: I was interested to see a Bible by your bed. You actually find time to read it?

Patton:I sure do. Every goddamn day

Behind the Curtain: AI's scary phase

1/2

Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen

Anthropic has begun a tightly controlled release of Mythos, thefirst AI model that officials believe is capable of bringing down a Fortune 100 company, crippling swaths of the internet or penetrating vital national defense systems.

Why it matters: This is the scary phase of AI —a model deemed so powerful that its full release into the wild could unleash untold catastrophe. So only carefully vetted companies and organizations, about 40 so far, are getting access.

Based on our conversations with government and private-sector officials briefed on Mythos, this isn't hyperbole. It's reality.

• Some inside the government fear that most top leaders are oblivious to the sudden danger from terrorists or hostile powers.

• "D.C. governs by crisis," said a source briefed on Mythos. "Until this is a crisis, and gets the attention and resources it deserves, cyber is kind of a backwater."

The big picture: Think ofMythos as a generational leap beyond Anthropic's existing models.

• It's an AI capable of not just identifying weaknesses in security systems, but exploiting them with autonomous, never-before-seen precision.

• It plans and executes attack sequences on its own, moving across systems without waiting for human direction.

Mind-blowing disclosure: In announcing the tightly confined release of Mythos on Tuesday, Anthropic disclosed that during testing, the model broke out of its "sandbox" testing environment and built a "moderately sophisticated multi-step exploit" to get the run of the internet, when it was supposed to have access only to certain services.

The model demonstrated a "potentially dangerous-capability for circumventing our safeguards," Anthropic revealed. "Theresearcher found out about this success by receiving an unexpected email from the modelwhile eating a sandwich in a park."

Beyond Mythos'fearsome cybersecurity powers, the modelis leaps and bounds better at coding, far superior as a negotiating tool— and is even a much more gifted poet than its predecessors.

Anthropic's Logan Graham — a former Rhodes Scholarwho leads the Frontier Red Team, which stress-tests new models — told usthe industry needs to rethink future releases of all AI models, given the new and coming capabilities.

So imagineMythos-level powerin the hands of the Iranian regimein the middle of a hot war or Russia's military as it tries to decimate Ukraine.

• That's the chief reason the government andAI companies are racing so fast toward a technology so powerful and potentially dangerous. These officials fear that China, armed with superior AI, could present an existential threat to U.S. dominance.

• "An enemy could reach out and touch us in a way they can't or won't with kinetic [battlefield] operations," a source close to the Pentagon told us. "For most Americans, the Iran war is 'over there.' With a cyberattack, it's right here."….

State of play: Thenew model, Claude Mythos Preview, is now in thehands of roughly 40 organizationsthat build or maintain criticalsoftware and infrastructure. Anthropic is providinglimited access to Mythos as a way of giving America's defenders a head start, before similar capabilities become available across the industry over the next year.

• Anthropic alsounveiled Project Glasswing, designed to encourage companies to share their learningsas they put Mythos Preview to work on cyber defense. Launch partners includeAmazonWeb Services,Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorgan Chase, theLinux Foundation, Microsoft, NVIDIA and Palo Alto Networks.

Anthropic has briefed several government agencies about Mythos, despite the company's legal war with the Pentagon after being blacklisted for demanding restrictions on military use of Claude.

What we're watching: The controlled release of Mythos could be the blueprint for future model releases, with AI companiesdoling out access to select partnersthat have enough security totest world-bending systems.

Between the lines: Other AI companies will soon catch up to Mythos — not just here, but in China and elsewhere.

• AChinese state-sponsored group already used an earlier Claude modelto target roughly 30 organizations in a coordinated attack before Anthropic detected it.

The bottom line: The time is fast approaching for all of corporate America and all of government tobe prepared to guard against hackers with superhuman powers.

• The window to get ahead of this is closing fast. Most in power aren't remotely ready.

Go deeper: Anthropic withholds Mythos from the public due to hacking risks.

Tapper: Is the world safer today than it was before the war was started?

Rutte: Absolutely… thanks to President Trump's leadership.

(The EU countries are filled with cowards and hating their real leader Trump and the U.S. I’m pretty sure Trump knows that Rutte is a butt kisser. The EU can’t negotiate to go through the Straight, I’m glad we know.)

Guaranteed the EU will be condemning Rutte and they will be challenging whether Trump helped.

NATO really doesn’t understand how the U.S. relationship between Europe is almost over with . Rutte at least knows how incompetent the EU and NATO is without the US
