BREAKING🚨: Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who is currently running for Governor of California, has been accused of sexual assault by a former staffer, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The woman, who says she had sexual encounters with Swalwell while employed by him, alleges he assaulted her twice when she was too intoxicated to give consent.
Swalwell flatly denied the allegations, calling them "false" and threatening legal action, stating he has "always protected women" throughout nearly 20 years of public service.
The accusations follow prior social media speculation about alleged misconduct toward staffers. Swalwell also canceled a Palm Desert town hall Thursday night, citing illness.
