Nolte: Media’s Only Motive in Taking Out Eric Swalwell Is to Benefit Democrats

John Nolte11 Apr 2026.1/2

The only reason the corporate media are reporting on the sexual assault allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) is the polling coming out of the California governor’s race.

That’s it.

There’s no other reason.

What we have here is another one of those situations where, only after it breaks,do we learn that these allegations were an open secret for years.

So where was the media during all those years?

Well, when Swalwell was useful to the media, when he verbalized and leaked all the lies about Donald Trump that the media wanted an excuse to “report,” theallegations against Swalwell were ignored and covered up.

Below is an admission that everyone knew about Swalwelland had known for a long time, and if everyone knew, you can bet the media knew.

Here’s the media admitting they knew:

Moreover,Democrat activist Cheyenne Hunt began this whisper campaign against Swalwell a week or so ago. Listen to the story of what motivated her, and you can only come to that conclusion…

I was on a launch call for [Swalwell’s] gubernatorial campaign… and very quickly I got messages saying, “Do not talk to that man. Do not send him your phone number, do not add him on Snapchat. You just don’t wanna get involved.” And I was like, “Wow, that’s a pretty forceful reaction. That’s never happened before… Every week it seems like I was hearing more and more from people saying, “You know, friends of mine who had encounters with him and interns he had slept with andstuff that had happened years and years ago, stuff that had happened recently.”

“Every day more and more women came forward. Every single day more people said,‘I thought I was the only one.’”

Now let’s look atSwalwell’s pretty-pretty-pretty narrow denial…

A lot has been said about me today through anonymous allegations, and I thought it was important that you see and hear from me directly. These allegations of sexual assault are flat false. They’re absolutely false. They did not happen. They have never happened, and I will fight them with everything that I have. They also come on the eve of an election where I’ve been the frontrunner candidate for governor in California.

Then comes this…

I do not suggest to you in any way that I’m perfect or a saint. I have certainly made mistakes in judgment in my past, but those are between me and my wife — and to her I apologize deeply for putting her into this position.

While he is denying the allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, it sounds to me — and this is just one man’s opinion —that he is admitting to the claims that he had consensual sexual relationships with staffers.

Assuming that’s true,we just went through six years of a #MeToo movement, a movement heartily championed by the corporate media, where powerful men having sex with their subordinates, including consensual sex, was grounds for being disgraced and wished into the cornfield, banished forever….

Sorry, but only a naïve idiot believes the corporate media was not aware of all thisand chose to protect Swalwellbecause 1) he’s a Democratand2) he is utterly shamelessin smearing and lying about Republicans, especially President Trump.

But NOW…

NOW that the California governor’s race is on the line…NOW that Swalwell’s candidacy might result in a Republican winning… Only NOW must Swalwell go.

This is the corporate media doing what the corporate media always do… If you want to understand how the media operate, whenever you see the media do something — anything — ask yourself one question: How does this benefit Democrats? To wit…

The upcoming June 2 California gubernatorial primary is not like other primaries. Instead of one Democrat primary winner and one Republican primary winner facing off in the general election, the top two vote-getters advance to the general election… regardless of party. Now go and look at the polls. As you can see, there’s a very real chance two Republicans could win the primary, which would ensure a Republican becomes governor of California.

The media and Democrats cannot allow that possibility, so it’s been decided that Swalwell must be sacrificed. His sacrifice will break the three-way tie between the three top Democrats — Swalwell, Katie Porter, and Tom Steyer — and once Swalwell’s 15 percent support moves to the other two, one or both is certain to go on to compete in the general election, which practically ensures Democrats hold onto California’s governor’s seat.

You see, if Swalwell were polling at 30 percent instead of his current 15 percent, the media cover-up of these allegations would continue because no one would be sweating a Republican sneaking into victory.

But he’s not polling at 30 percent.Early voting begins in a few weeks, and themedia knew something ruthless had to be immediately. done to protect Democrats,so the media chose to slit their pal’s throat.

Yeah, there’s no small amount of satisfaction in watching this appalling excuse for a human being get his.Trust me, though, this takedown of Swalwell has nothing to do with justice, truth, or protecting women.

Left-Wing Celebs Completely Silent on Eric Swalwell Sexual Assault Allegations, with One C-List Exception. April, 11, 2026

Hollywood celebrities who have been vocal in the “MeToo” and “Time’s Up” movementshave stayed conspicuously quietin the first day since several women accused Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) of unwanted sexual advances and even rape.

Top figures in the MeToo movement — Alyssa Milano, Gwyneth Paltrow, America Ferrera, Neve Campbell, and Lady Gaga, to name a few —have failed to make any public statement on the Swalwell accusations.

Women who were prominent in the “Time’s Up” campaign — Shonda Rhimes, Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, Natalie Portman, Amber Tamblyn, and Emma Watson —also have had nothing to say.

And various entertainers who are usually active on social media, sharing hot takes on breaking news, have ignored the burgeoning Swalwell scandal— which has massive implications for the California gubernatorial race, where many of them live. Kathy Griffin, Paul F. Tompkins, Mara Wilson, Diedrich Bader, Duncan Jones, Michael Ian Black, George Takei, Mark Ruffalo, Daryl Hannah, Jon Cryer, Mia Farrow, Morgan Fairchild, Scott Derrickson, Ben Stiller, Tom Morello, John Leguizamo, Conan O’Brien, Carrie Coon, Henry Winkler, and Lizzo —celebs who are known to take shots at conservatives whenever possible— have all been active on social media since a wave of stories were published in local media and CNN,without so much as mentioning Rep. Swalwell or the women accusing him.

A lone exception to this cone of silence has been actor Ethan Embry, who recently was featured in Scream 7. On the left-wing echo chamber BlueSky,

Embry lamented the factthat Swalwell’s alleged misconduct has been anopen secret in Washington, D.C., for a long time.

“So when you’re one of the 430 +/- most powerful people in the country,” Embry wrote, alluding to Swalwell’s position in the House of Representatives,“being a philandering heavy drinker… with rumoredfar more serious accusations, that’s an acceptable norm to the ruling class? As long as you don’t aim for the top 50 seats==, they’ll support you?”

He continued, “The accusations and nowtrickles of ‘so many knew this’ are just disgusting.” Embry explained that Democrats’ apparent coverup of hisscandals “cements my belief that there’s no separation between” the major political parties— thus, the United Statesis “ruled by a uniparty.”

According to the New York Post, various A-listers contributed to Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign earlier this cycle, including Robert De Niro, Sean Penn, Jon Hamm, Jon Cryer, Kathy Griffin, Jane Fonda, and Rob Reiner before his shocking murder.

The Atlantic’s Brooks: Media ‘Business Model Is Bashing Trump’4/11/26 (he admits it but still does it)

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” The Atlantic StaffWriter David Brooks said that, for the media, the “business model is bashing Trump. We know we canget clicks and ratings if we bash Trump enough. So we do it over and over and over and again, without having anything interesting to say half the time.”

MS NOW hostJonathan Capehartsaid, “I wish people who have written books, people who have gone on air talking about President Biden nonstop, where are they now? Where are those books now that we have a president who has given ample evidence that something is not right? Where are the people who are standing up and saying, you know what, something needs to be done?”

Brooks responded,“Our business model is bashing Trump. We know we can get clicks and ratings if we bash Trump enough. So we do it over and over and over and again, without having anything interesting to say half the time. And, by the way, if we did do everything we could,it wouldn’t make a difference. The people who need to be persuaded are not persuaded by us.”

In the segment,Brooks was also strongly critical of Trump’s posts about Iranand immigration earlier in the week and criticized how the war in Iran has gone.

(Did he just give Trump an opportunity to sue more media. Thanks Brooks that will bring Trump’s recompense. Wasn’t Brooks the one masturbating on a group media call.)

These people are seriously deranged.

Director Paul Feig Rips ‘Unnecessary Outrage over Stupid Sh*t’ Like Sydney Sweeney’s Jeans Ad

4/11/26

Filmmaker Paul Feig tookaim at popular culture and social media for constantly pushing “unnecessary outrage”and cited the kerfuffle over actress Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle jeans ad.

Feig, who directed films including Bridesmaids, The Heat, Spy, A Simple Favor, and the much-panned 2016 remake of Ghostbusters, appeared at Variety’s “Power of Law Breakfast,” where he received the paper’s 2026 Power of Law Award.

At one point during the discussion, he brought up the problem of Internet outrage machines.

“We want free spirits,” he said of the public discourse in America.“You can only control what you can, and people get through it. Sydney [Sweeney] had a contentious thing — but whatever,” he said.

“Unnecessary outrage is the biggest problem in our society right now. People get so outraged about stupid shit… when there’s all kinds of things to be outraged about, becoming outraged about pop culture — trust me,?? I made the female Ghostbusters ten years ago and you would have thought I launched an invasion of Iran.”

Feig’s all-female remake of Ghostbusterswas roundly criticized by both critics and fans when it debuted n 2016. The movie was called an “unfunny mess” and lacking “inventiveness.” Another critic said the film was “It’s all busy-ness, noise, and chaos, with zero thrills and very little sustainable comic buoyancy.”

The film also became a target of attacks online as fans ripped the film as woke for its terrible all-female cast.

Feig directed Sweeney in the sexually-charged thriller The Housemaid, which became an international hit and justified the greenlighting of a sequel.

Negotiations between the United States and Irancontinued into the early hours in Islamabad, a senior White House official said on Saturday, as talks stretched on for more than 15 hours. “Fifteen hours and counting,” the official said, indicating thatdiscussions were still ongoing into the next day.

Doesn’t sound like they are fighting. I think Iran thought they would never get dialogue, and now they are having more dialogue with the Trump Admin than anyone. JDVance wanted it to effective!. Look at guy pointing his finger, he looks very happy something good was proposed!

Trump Promises Mass Pardons to Staff Before Leaving Office. 1/2

In a recent meeting, the president said he would pardon those within 200 feet of the Oval Office, say people familiar with the remarks

Summary

President Trump has repeatedly promised top administration officials pardons before leaving office, according to people who heard his comments.

“I’ll pardon everyone who has come within 200 feet of the Oval,” Trump said in a recent meeting to laughs, according to people with knowledge of the comments. That radius appears to be expanding as the president repeats the line.Another person who met with Trump earlier this year said the president quipped about pardoning anyone who had come within 10 feet.

In one conversation with advisers in the dining room next to the Oval Office last year,Trump said he would host a news conference and announce mass pardons before he left office, some of the people said. The people said they weren’t aware of specific pardons being offered to specific people for specific acts.

The unconditional power to pardon is one of the most sweeping powers offered to the presidency. This term, Trump has wielded clemency far differently than any other president, dispensing some 1,600 grants to date. Many have gone to allies and donors, or those who had hired them, coming after a social pull-aside or a round of golf. Some have received bipartisan criticism, including one to a crypto billionaire whose company boosted Trump’s own digital-currency company, and another to a former Honduran president convicted of conspiring with cartels to ship cocaine to the U.S. In Trump’s first term, he signed fewer than 250 pardons and commutations.

The president has repeatedly raised the specter of pardons with White House aides and other administration officials, particularly when staff have suggested they could face prosecution or congressional investigations over decisions, people familiar with the comments said.Trump is known to joke about matters that he later seriously pursues, and the frequent references have led some aides to believe he is serious about the pardons, too.

Trump aides have worried about losing control of the House of Representatives to Democrats in the November elections. Democrats have said they might investigate the president for a range of issues, including his control over the Justice Department, alleged malfeasance at the Department of Homeland Security and the president’s pardons themselves. The president has discussed how to thwart those potential inquiries, advisers said. The Justice Department ultimately would make the decision on whether to charge someone for not adhering to a congressional subpoena.

Several aides said Trump raises the pardons so regularly that some of his advisers now laugh about it.

“The Wall Street Journal should learn to take a joke, however, the President’s pardon power is absolute,” Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, said.

Trump’s liberal use of the pardon power follows former President Joe Biden’s sweeping and pre-emptive end-of-term grants to multiple top officials and family members who he said could face scrutiny from the Justice Department under Trump. Those included his son Hunter Biden and Dr. Anthony Fauci, the longtime leader of the National Institutes of Health.

Former Biden aides said they understood why Biden granted them, but that they served as a norm-breaking precedent for Trump to exploit.

“By testing the boundaries of the pardon power, Biden cracked the door open and we can’t now complain about Donald Trump walking through it, even if he blows it wide open,” said Michael LaRosa, a former communications aide to Biden.

Trump weighed pardoning White House officials after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol at the end of his first term, according to former administration officials, but didn’t ultimately do so. He later told advisers that he should have issued the pardons, people who talked to him said. Some 1,500 of Trump’s second-term pardons are for defendants charged in connection with Jan. 6.

After leaving office, federal and state prosecutors charged Trump in four different criminal cases. He was convicted of 34 felony counts in New York and sentenced to no punishment, but wouldn’t be able to pardon himself because those are state crimes. (He is appealing that conviction.) Prosecutors dismissed the others last year. Advisers describe a president who believes he was unfairly targeted by the Justice Department and wants to do whatever is possible to protect himself and his inner circle from scrutiny in the future.

His former press secretary Stephanie Grisham said Trump didn’t regularly raise pardoning aides in his first administration. At one point, Grisham said, she told him she was in trouble for violating the Hatch Act, which limits political activities from government officials in their official capacity.

Trump, she said, jokingly told her not to worry about it. “He said, ‘Who cares? You know who is the boss of the Hatch Act, and I’ll pardon you.’ ”

Grisham said she wasn’t aware of Trump actually offering to pardon any White House official in his first term. At one point in that term, Trump did muse to immigration officials that he would pardon them if they directed border agents to physically deny migrants from entering the country, according to people who heard his comments. Former officials said they didn’t believe it was a serious offer.

Liz Oyer, a pardon attorney at the Justice Department before being fired during Trump’s second term, said the offers could spur cabinet officials and administration officials to behave more aggressively.

“It seems like he previewed many times his intent to use the pardon power to bail out those who carry out his agenda faithfully,” Oyer said.

Vance says no deal reached with Iran after 21 hours of talks

Kyla Guilfoil

Vance said that after 21 hours of negotiating in Pakistan, the U.S. and Iranian delegations had failed to reach a deal to end the war.

"We’ve made very clear what our red lines are, what things we’re willing to accommodate them on, and what things we’re not willing to accommodate them on, and we’ve made that as clear as we possibly could, and may have chosen not to accept our terms," he said.

The vice president said the U.S. needs a firmer commitment that Iran will not develop a nuclear weapon in order to reach an agreement.

He said, "The simple question is, do we see a fundamental commitment of will for the Iranians not to develop a nuclear weapon, not just now, not just two years from now, but for the long term?We haven't seen that yet. We hope that we will."
