Michael Avenatti
As of mid-April 2026, Michael Avenatti (BOP registration #86743-054) remains in federal custody but has been transferred from prison to a halfway house (residential reentry/community confinement program) in the Hollywood/Long Beach area of California.
He was moved around April 7–9, 2026, from the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) Los Angeles (after time at FCI Terminal Island) to a facility overseen by the Bureau of Prisons’ Long Beach Residential Reentry Management office. His projected full release date from federal custody is September 8, 2028. He is not fully free; he must follow reentry conditions, including finding work, participating in mental health treatment, and testing negative for controlled substances. After his full release in 2028, he faces three years of supervised release. He also owes approximately $5.94 million in restitution to victims.
