Rocket Lab Completes Mynaric Acquisition, Adding Laser Optical Communications To Growing Space Systems Portfolio

April 14, 2026

Rocket Lab now plans to scale Mynaric production capacity, making industry-leading satellite laser communication technology available at the volume and speed demanded by commercial and government satellite customers across Europe, the United States, and rest of world

Rocket Lab Corporation (Nasdaq: RKLB) (“Rocket Lab” or “the Company”), a global leader in launch services and space systems, today announced it has completed the acquisition of Mynaric AG (“Mynaric”), a leading provider of laser optical communications terminals for air, space, and mobile applications.

Rocket Lab paid an aggregate consideration value of $155.3 million consisting of a nominal cash payment and 2,277,002 shares of Rocket Lab’s Common Stock.

The acquisition further strengthens Rocket Lab’s extensive capabilities as a leading launch provider, spacecraft manufacturer, and supplier of satellite components at scale to the global space market.

“Laser communication is a key enabler for satellite constellations, but it has long been a supply chain pain point for commercial and government constellation operators. High-performing and cost-effective products simply have not been available in high volumes.

That changes today with Mynaric now officially part of Rocket Lab,” said Sir Peter Beck, founder and CEO of Rocket Lab. “We have a strong track record of unlocking satellite subsystem bottlenecks, making industry-leading technology affordable and available at scale.

We look forward to joining forces with the Mynaric team to do the same for laser communications.”

The completion of the transaction comes after successful review and approval by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

Mynaric will continue to be headquartered in Munich, Germany, establishing Rocket Lab’s first European footprint and enabling the Company to expand its ability to support German and broader European space programs.

An important driving factor behind the acquisition decision was Rocket Lab’s extensive insight into the Mynaric team and technology, thanks to Mynaric providing CONDOR Mk3 optical communication terminals for Rocket Lab's $1.3 billion prime contracts to produce 36 satellites for the Space Development Agency (SDA) Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.

This relationship gave Rocket Lab a high degree of confidence in the Mynaric team and technology, while also giving the Company insight into how the products could be scaled and efficiencies achieved to meet rapidly growing customer demand.

Mynaric is also a supplier to other SDA contracts, and Mynaric and Rocket Lab share many customers spanning commercial constellation operators, satellite prime contractors, and defense and civil government agencies.

NRO’s proliferated architecture exceeding expectations, PDDNRO tells Space Symposium

April 14, 2026

COLORADO SPRINGS – Two years after the National Reconnaissance Office announced an ambitious plan to put a proliferated architecture on orbit, the system is now operational and even surpassing expectations, Bill Adkins, principal deputy director of the NRO, said Tuesday at the annual Space Symposium.

“We are delivering unprecedented levels of persistence, timeliness, and resilience—providing a clear information advantage to our stakeholders,” Adkins said to an audience of government, industry, military, and academic leaders attending the event hosted by the Space Foundation.

The proliferated architecture is a major part of what the NRO describes as the most significant transformation in its history, creating the largest and most effective government constellation the United States has ever had.

This vision was described aspirationally at Space Symposium 2024 by Adkins’ predecessor, Dr. Troy Meink, who predicted a proliferated constellation would strengthen resilience, enhance collection persistence, and accelerate the processing of information and delivery to end users.

Over the past few years, the NRO has launched more than 200 satellites, many of which are part of this proliferated architecture.

“Today, I can report that those goals are no longer aspirational,” Adkins said. “The NRO has been delivering—and often exceeding—those commitments.”

Adkins noted that in 2025 alone, the NRO’s proliferated architecture captured more than 400,000 collections – an incredibly large data set that is helping the organization answer questions and optimize the use of machine learning algorithms.

Advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning, enable satellites to conduct adaptive tasking, autonomous operation, enhanced coordination within the constellation, and more efficient utilization.

The constellation is shortening revisit times, increasing observational persistence, and improving resilience and security. Combatant Commands and other users are being trained on the constellation’s tasking and the analytic tools that strengthen its performance.

“Simply put, we are making it harder for adversaries to hide—and harder for them to disrupt our capabilities,” Adkins said.

In addition to its overhead capabilities, Adkins said the NRO is also investing in its ground capabilities to optimize tasking, improve processing speed and capacity, accelerate automation, and deliver advanced visualization tools.

Partnerships with industry and across the whole of government are also driving leading-edge innovation.

The NRO is now working with more than 250 prime vendors and 5,000 sub-contractors across multiple phenomenologies, and flexible acquisitions approaches are opening contracting opportunities for startups and non-traditional suppliers.

The NRO’s proliferated architecture, Adkins noted, is benefitting from the ability of commercial startups to improve – often dramatically – cost, speed, and agility.

For example, commercial partners can offer state-of-the-art capabilities, including radiation-tolerant microelectronics, at reduced cost and development times.

All of this, Adkins noted, is in pursuit of the NRO’s national security mission.

“We’re also integrating commercial and classified data to provide our users—whether warfighters, analysts, policymakers, or first responders—with the best possible information for decision-making.”

ESA begins next phase of 'fibre in the sky' optical communications project with Canada

15/04/2026

Actionable data from space could be delivered in seconds in the future, thanks to progress towards the European Space Agency’s (ESA) faster and more secure laser communications network, HydRON.

At the 41st Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Canadian satellite communications company Kepler was awarded a contract to lead the next phase in the project’s evolution.

ESA’s High‑thRoughput Optical Network (HydRON) aims to enable real‑time data transfer between satellites and ground systems, across multiple orbits. Essentially, it seeks to extend fibre‑based internet infrastructure into space.

Rather than relying on traditional radio links and limited ground station contacts, HydRON uses laser technology to move large volumes of data quickly and efficiently.

The programme is structured in multiple parts. The first establishes a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit that relay data using optical links.

The second extends this capability to higher orbits, connecting different orbital layers and ground infrastructure. The third focuses on bringing industry into the network, validating how different technologies and services can operate together in orbit.

Under an €18.6 million contract awarded on 14 April, Kepler will start the activities under this third part. Using their satellites, the company will host payloads from several European partners.

Vyoma GmbH will contribute a space situational awareness payload, designed to monitor objects in orbit and help track satellites and debris. TESAT, MBRYONICS Ltd and Astrolight UAB will each provide optical communication hardware.

The contract was signed between Laurent Jaffart, ESA Director of Resilience, Navigation and Connectivity, and Mina Mitry, CEO and Co-Founder of Kepler in the presence of ESA’s Director General Josef Aschbacher and Lisa Campbell, President of the Canadian Space Agency, the German Aerospace Center (DLR), and Kepler’s industrial partners Astrolight, TESAT, Vyoma and MBRYONICS.

It builds on Kepler’s earlier role in HydRON’s first element and supports ESA’s wider objective of developing a resilient, European‑led communications infrastructure in space.

Optical communications complement traditional radio frequencies, which are becoming increasingly congested. By contrast, laser links allow more data volumes to be transmitted, with reduced interference and higher security.

HydRON will demonstrate data rates in the terabit‑per‑second range and show how space‑based optical networks can integrate seamlessly with ground fibre systems.

Beyond faster data delivery, the programme is also about interoperability, namely ensuring that technology from different European companies can work together within a single network.

This is a key step in keeping Europe competitive in optical communications and in preparing future flexible space systems.

“HydRON will serve as the world’s first multi-orbital optical communications network with a terabit per second capacity, offering resilient and efficient data transfer to address the challenges of bringing connectivity to multiple users securely, quickly and reliably,” said Laurent Jaffart, Director of Resilience, Navigation and Connectivity.

“Today’s signature with Kepler Communications continues our collaboration on the project, as they contribute their expertise in concert with their consortium to deliver within Element 3;

the component of HydRON that’s key to building new industrial capabilities, demonstrating new service concepts, fostering system extensions, and promoting international cooperation and interoperability.”

“HydRON is a key initiative in advancing sovereign optical communications and enabling high-capacity data transport,” said Mina Mitry, CEO and Co-Founder of Kepler. “Element 3 represents a critical step in broad interoperability testing and delivering real-time access to data for various applications.”

“With HydRON Element 3 and further HydRON evolutions, ESA will respond to the needs of its Member States for high speed and secure communications across air, High-Altitude Pseudo-Satellites (HAPS), maritime and - in the longer term - deep space communications,” said Harald Hauschildt, Head of the Optical and Quantum Communication Office in charge of ESA’s Optical and Quantum Communications – ScyLight programme line.

U.S. Space Command advances work on maneuver warfare strategy

April 14, 2026

U.S. Space Command plans to hold exercises this year as it readies a maneuver warfare strategy for space.

“When we look at scenarios involving a protracted conflict against a peer opponent, we need a new strategy that isn’t predictable or static,” Gen. Stephen Whiting, commander of U.S. Space Command, told an audience here.

“U.S. Space Command must collaborate across the enterprise toward a maneuver warfare strategy.”

“A satellite which is locked in a predictable orbit is fighting from a fixed position, and it’s a target,” Whiting added.

“It’s a known position on a map waiting to be bypassed or neutralized. A force that can maneuver, however, and not be limited by the fuel that it was launched with and reposition as operationally needed is the one that holds the initiative.”

For the strategy, U.S. Space Command is using CAVE, its Capability Assessment and Validation Environment.

“These analysts use modeling and simulation tools to visualize this concept, and then they’re going to hand over their findings to our warfighting branch for future testing and analysis,” Whiting said.

During a press conference here later in the day, Whiting said the service is “making progress” on the modeling and simulation phase.

“We soon will turn that over to our wargaming branch, who can run tabletop exercises and then larger scale exercises that will begin to include some live-fly elements of that using actual on-orbit assets,” Whiting said, noting that he expects that next phase to begin later this year.

Russia publishes list of Ukraine-linked military production facilities around the world

Updated 15 Apr, 2026 17:37

Kiev’s Western backers want to ramp up production of long-range drones to prop up Ukraine, the Russian Defense Ministry has said, warning the move is bound to drag the European nations conserned into a direct conflict with Moscow.

The ministry said a network of facilities producing drones and their components is operating in a number of European countries, including the UK, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Finland and Poland.

Additional sites were identified outside the continent, including in Türkiye and Israel. At least four facilities are located in Italy alone.

According to the ministry, Kiev’s Western backers are seeking to ramp up production of long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, a move Moscow described as a “deliberate step leading to a sharp escalation of the military-political situation throughout Europe.”

It added that such efforts risk turning host countries into “Ukraine’s strategic rear area.”

“The implementation of terrorist attack scenarios against Russia… using supposedly ‘Ukrainian’ UAVs manufactured in Europe is leading to unpredictable consequences,” the ministry said, referring to repeated statements by Ukrainian officials about expanding long-range strikes.

The ministry named multiple drone manufacturing facilities located in the UK, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Finland, and Poland.

At least four sites producing drone components were identified in Italy, with several plants involved in such activities located in Türkiye, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Israel.

Ukraine has been regularly launching one-way drones deep into Russian territory, targeting assorted civilian infrastructure, industrial sites, and residential buildings. The attacks have seemingly intensified in recent weeks, with Kiev sending in hundreds of fixed-wing UAVs daily.

Russian officials have described the strikes as indiscriminate “terrorist” attacks aimed at compensating for frontline setbacks the Ukrainian military has been suffering.

Moscow has retaliated with a long-range strike campaign of its own against dual-use infrastructure and military installations, maintaining it never targets purely civilian sites.

Iran’s economy could collapse within three months thanks to blockade, experts suggest

An expert on Iran's military noted that Iranian authorities have previously declared that if they are denied access to their ports, they will prevent other countries in the region from using theirs.

If a full naval blockade of Iran proves successful, it would, on the one hand, increase the immediate risk of war between Iran and the United States - potentially drawing in all countries in the region - and, on the other, trigger an unprecedented crisis in the global economy, particularly affecting China.

Forecasts suggest that Iran’s economy, which is heavily dependent on oil exports, could collapse within approximately three months. This would likely be accompanied by massive waves of street protests, driven by subsidy cuts and a sharp, unprecedented surge in runaway inflation.

Following the launch of the naval blockade operation ordered by US President Donald Trump after the failure of negotiations between the two sides in Islamabad, Iran’s ruling authorities have declared that any attack on Iranian ports would be met with retaliatory strikes against ports across the region.

Overnight Workers Report Bigfoot Sighting in West Virginia

April 14, 2026

A pair of overnight workers in West Virginia were understandably terrified when they spotted a sizeable figure that they suspect was Sasquatch walking just a few hundred feet away from their job site.

The unsettling sighting, reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) by the girlfriend of one of the witnesses, occurred at around 1:30 AM last Thursday in the community of Tabler Station.

While loading railroad cars at an industrial plant, the two workers were stunned when they "looked off in the distance at a building that had a light source" and noticed a monstrous interloper that had them doing a double-take.

Specifically, from a distance of around 400 feet, the men said they saw an "approximately 8-foot-tall walking creature" pass beneath the light and vanish into the darkness.

The "huge" bipedal figure, which the witness was certain was not a bear nor a person, was described as being "blacker than black" and taking "long strides" as it moved. According to the report, the two witnesses "both looked at each other and said 'what the hell was that.'"

Alas, because they were working at the time, the pair did not have the chance to follow up on the sighting in the moment it occurred.

That said, they may have been happy about that as a follow-up investigation by the BFRO found that the massive figure "scared the daylights out of both witnesses."

Interestingly, since the sighting occurred near a newly built warehouse, it is believed that the creature could have been caught on camera.

However, one is doubtful that such footage would ever see the light of day. What do you think the witnesses saw last Thursday morning? Weigh in with your thoughts at the C2C Facebook page.

War Department Says White House Coordinating Release of Never-Before-Seen UFO Material

14 April 2026

A U.S. War Department official has told Liberation Times that the Pentagon’s dedicated UFO office is working with the White House and federal agencies to prepare the release of previously unseen Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) material.

The official added that the Department welcomes President Donald Trump’s initiative to turbocharge efforts to make UAP information more available to the public:

"The Department of War's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) is working in close coordination with the White House and across federal agencies to consolidate existing UAP records collections and facilitate the expeditious release of never-before-seen UAP information.

“Since the office was established, AARO has made progress to make UAP information available and transfer those records to the National Archives in accordance with federal law.

We welcome the president's initiative to supercharge these efforts and make more UAP information available to the public as soon as possible."

In February 2026, President Trump announced that he would direct U.S. agencies, including the Department of War (DoW), to begin identifying and releasing government files related to the subject.

Yet nearly two months have passed since those remarks, with little visible public follow-through.

Representative Burchett said in a recent interview that he urged President Trump to “peel back the layers of that onion” and let the public decide its own views on UAP.

In Burchett’s view, “we can handle it.”

He added that he had been briefed on some “wild things” that Americans need to know.

Another push came from Federal Secrets Task Force Chair Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who on 31 March 2026 wrote to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth requesting more than 46 UAP videos by 14 April 2026.

That deadline is now passing.

Commenting to Liberation Times, DoW spokesperson, Susan Gough stated, ‘As with all congressional correspondence, the Department of War will respond directly to the author of the letter.’

A Congressional source told Liberation Times, ‘The Department of War is in receipt of Rep. Luna’s letter and will provide a briefing in the future.’

However, Representative Luna hit out at the suggestion of a briefing, commenting on X:

‘No one from the Pentagon had responded until we reached out, and it appears that someone did not pass the letter to the appropriate authorities. How convenient.

Nonetheless, we will be getting the requested list. We are not waiting for a briefing at some unspecified future date.’

Representative Luna added:

‘The Secretary of War is someone I consider a friend and someone who backs the President. The President has authorized the release, so whoever is trying to be cute at the Pentagon can take a hike.’

One source told Liberation Times that President Trump could theoretically directly declassify the videos requested by Representative Luna unilaterally.

In practice, however, the source said Trump would likely direct the originating agency to handle the declassification, allowing the materials to go through a sanitisation process to ensure national security is not compromised.

Speaking to Liberation Times about the footage, investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell said he was familiar with, and had directly viewed, most of the UAP video files requested by Luna:

“I am personally aware of - and have been directly exposed to - the majority of the UAP files referenced in the recent Congressional request.

Along with George Knapp, I provided Congress not only with specific file names and their precise locations but also with additional military-filmed UAP assets that are not publicly listed, including numerous U.S. Air Force materials.

“We shared this information in good faith, expecting the Department of War to respond with full transparency to both Congress and the American people. The responsibility now rests squarely with them.

“I believe the President will do what he said. But if our elected representatives are denied complete and honest disclosure, then it will fall to independent journalism to ensure the public is properly informed - and that access to these materials is not improperly withheld. Sleeping Dog is coming at the center of that.”

A New Chapter In The Bob Lazar Saga - Reimagining S4 WEAPONIZED : EPISODE #115

April 14, 2026

Thirty-seven years after Bob Lazar stunned the UFO world and inadvertently put Area 51 on the map, his controversial claims are once again reverberating around the planet.

Canadian businessman Luigi Venditelli dug into the Lazar saga during the COVID shutdown and was inspired to create a die-cast version of a UFO craft that Lazar had nicknamed “the Sport Model.”

That concept morphed into the creation of a virtual reality re-creation of S4, the secret facility where Lazar said he worked back in the late ’80s.

The VR project was expanded into a full documentary, one that carefully duplicates the desert hangars where Lazar said he saw nine otherworldly craft undergoing a reverse-engineering process to figure out how they worked.

Imagine trying to accurately depict Xanadu, Camelot, or Atlantis, places that may or may not have existed, based on suppressed memories inside the head of one guy who last visited the site nearly four decades earlier.

Venditelli’s film, S4: The Bob Lazar Story, debuted just days ago but blasted to the top of the charts almost immediately. Lazar’s story also rekindled a predictable onslaught of vehement criticism, character attacks, and the rehashing of intimate details about his personal life.

Love it or loathe it, S4 is a runaway hit. In this episode of Weaponized, Luigi Venditelli shares details about how his movie was made, what he says to over-the-top critics, and what plans he has for expanding the conversation about Lazar.
