The US Army OWNS the property the White House sits on but was convoluted after the attack in 1812 when taxpayer funds paid for the reconstruction of the middle section. The ballroom construction with military underground solidifies the original purchase of 6K by the Army of total ownership. That would make the entire WH a Military installation and crimes committed anywhere within it under military jurisdiction for prosecution.
