Better Than a Bugatti? Why I Paid Full Price for the 2026 Corvette ZR1XJay Leno's Garage

Jay Leno just took delivery of his personal2026 Corvette ZR1X,and it’s already breaking records. With an 8.6-second quarter mile and a 0-60 time of 1.6 seconds, Jay calls this the "greatest high-performance deal in history."

In this exclusive episode, Jay is joined by Mark Reuss, President of General Motors, to explore the engineering marvel that is the C8 ZR1X. While European exotics cost millions, Jay points out that his ZR1X costs less than the sales tax on a typical Ferrari or Lamborghini, yet it outperforms them on almost every playing field. Powered by a dual-overhead-cam, four-valve V8 with a flat-plane crank and electrification on the front end, the ZR1X delivers an additional 187 horsepower through the front wheels for a total performance experience that Mark Reuss personally validated at 233 mph. Jay takes us through his bespoke spec, including the racing seats, carbon fiber wheels, and the massive 10-piston caliper ceramic brake package.

(I’m glad he’s still around)

Iran threatens to close Hormuz again if US blockade continues - IRGC outlet

Updated: 19:32 GMT+1

(Iran threatens to close Hormuz again — Read the fine print.)

Iran considers the continuation of a US naval blockade as a violation of the ceasefire and would close the Strait of Hormuz againif the blockade is not lifted, the IRGC-affiliated Fars News reported citing an informed source close to the Supreme National Security Council.

The source said Iran had initially agreed, as part of a Pakistan-mediated ceasefire plan, to allow a limited number of vessels to transit the Strait of Hormuz daily butsuspended the arrangement after the ceasefire was not implemented in Lebanonand was not extended to Hezbollah and Israel. (They only asked for Lebanon, it was done)

According to the source, Iran has now reopened the Strait following the ceasefire in Lebanon, subject to three conditions:

"Ships must be commercial. The passage of military vessels is prohibited, and neither the ships nor their cargo may be linked to hostile countries. Vessels must pass through routes designated by Iran, and transit must be coordinated with Iranian forces responsible for managing passage."
