There is more practicality in things then people realize Ash has like Tylinal properties in it is actually next best thing to like antiseptic. This is also like Islamic people using Sand to wash with for praying. It is like the next best thing due to the being baked so hot so on. They do miss this part about it being so hot that it does this so this is why you want surface sand.
Also the ash is what you can use to help purify water.
These things are often missed in ways this was mostly done after battles by people in ways actually to help reduce swelling and possibility prevent infections or cuts scrapes so on.
This is where this was better then sand is it was really good they would make mixtures of things in ways but this was for more mass use of easy way so to speak
