I think it is clear with the capture of Venezuela oil first that Iran was on the radar. I think hammering their regime was the right move especially considering their ties to the ccp and hormuz control could have becomes a ccp plaything. HOWEVER, I do cite big Don for not putting measures into place that would keep US fuel costs low. We are indeed the #1 producer. Russia maintained cheaper fuel prices than the US when they went to fight for the Donbass and they produce less than the USA. Their demand is probably also less nevertheless Russia did not see huge increases in fuel costs like we did under Biden. Bottom line seems to me more proactive measures could have been put in place. Not the end of the world, but seems to me things could have been done better. And why not always strive to do better ?
