Cyril Ramaphosa [Global Democracy Summit, Spain]: Across the world, we must build a united front of governments that clearly declare that they are not afraid of one person in the world, that they will stand up and speak for their people. That is what we want. It is good also to have political parties, trade unions, social movement, think tanks and influencers, and social activists, that are bound together by a shared desire of a better world…this must be a united front against inequality and poverty. It must revive the drive toward the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This must be a movement for climate action…we have the whole continent of Africa with 1.4 billion people. It's not represented…we have big countries around the world that must be represented and have a voice, so we must advance peace through dialog, through multilateral organizations, and not have a few countries that are going to have a veto vote and block everything that talks about progress in the world.

President Trump [Oval Office]: Today I'm pleased to announce historic reforms to dramatically accelerate access to new medical research and treastments based on psychedelic drugs. In many cases, these experimental treatments have shown life-changing potential for those suffering from severe mental illness and depression, including our cherished veterans.

President Trump: This [executive] order will clear away unnecessary bureaucratic hurdles, improve data sharing among the FDA and Department of Veterans Affairs, and facilitate fast rescheduling of any psychedelic drugs that become FDA approved. And we think many of them will go very quickly.

Joe Rogan [Oval Office]: There's more than five million people that are addicted to opiates in this country. With one dose of Ibogaine, more than eighty percent of people are free of that addiction. With two doses, it's more than ninety percent.

President Trump: It is regime change. You call that, 'enforced regime change'. But, we're talking to them. They wanted to close up the Strait again, you know, as they've been doing for years, and they can't blackmail us.

Chris Murphy [Global Democracy Summit, Spain]: I want to bring you greetings as well from a nation that is in crisis. I'm not going to sugarcoat the gravity of what we face right now in the United States. This is the most significant threat to American democracy since the Civil War. Donald Trump in our country, is trying to end our democracy. We are not on the verge of a totalitarian takeover, we are in the middle of it. He is trying ot seize control of our courts, of our law enforcement, of our media, of our elections. His goal is oligarchic capture.

Governor Walz [Global Democracy Summit, Spain]: Back home in the United States, we're seeing an alarming consolidation of power. A massive, paramilitary force terrorizing our communities, which you saw in Minneapolis. A methodical weakening of our free press, of the independent judiciary, of fair elections, and all other institutions of accountability. We've got a feebleminded, trigger-happy president, who plunged us into a war where no threat was present, with no clear objectives, and no exit plan. We need to call that what that is. That's fascism…if we're going to get out of this mess, we have to do more than just push back on all the awful things that people like Donald Trump and like-minded dictators are doing.
