Overtime with Bill Maher: Kara Swisher, Rahm Emanuel, Jake Sullivan (HBO)

(The discussion is on AI, and I think 1,000s more professors, inventors etc of AI, need to come out and truly tell the dangers. We already know enough to slow the track of developing it and not let the government say how great it will be. It won’t. My thought is that a machine with no soul, and is excelled beyond human intelligence, and can deceive anyone that communicates with it, is forgetting the warnings by God!)

I don’t care for his guests but some make good points)

Bill and his Real Time guests – award-winning podcaster Kara Swisher, fmr. U.S. Ambassador Rahm Emanuel and fmr. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan – continue their conversation after the show.

Treasury extends license to sell Russian oil

Steve Kopack

Phil Helsel

The U.S Treasury Department on Friday night extended a license allowing the sale of Russian oil at sea until May 16.

The license, issued to try and buoy global oil supply amid the war with Iran, had briefly expired on April 11.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said at a White House briefing Wednesday thatthe U.S. would not be reviewing a set of sanctions that allowed the sale of some Russian and Iranian oil.

“We will not be renewing the general license on Russian oil, and we will not be renewing the general license on Iranian oil. That was oil that was on the water prior to March 11,” Bessent said. “So, all that has been used.”

Stormy Daniels looks dramatically different in new photos— as disgraced ex-attorney Michael Avenatti moves to halfway house

By Published April 17, 2026 Updated April 17, 2026,

From smoking hot to … just plain smoking.

Adult film star Stormy Danielslooked much the worse for wear as she puffed on a cigarette outside a Georgia theater Thursday — days after her disgraced former lawyer Michael Avenatti was moved from federal prison to a halfway house, exclusive photos show.

The 47-year-old porn princess wasn’t exactly ready for her close-up as she rocked rumpledcargo pants with a carabiner and heavy eye makeup while sucking on a cancer stickoutside the Avon Theater in suburban Atlanta.

Daniels — whose $130,000 “hush money” payment arranged in 2016 by Donald Trump’s then-lawyer Michael Cohen to stay quiet about a purported sexual encounter with the future president formed the basis for his 2024 Manhattan conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records — had just arrived at the venue to perform “an evening of storytelling and comedy” when she was pictured for the first time since Avenatti’s prison release last week.

The Louisiana native’s disheveled look was a far cry from the smut icon’s heyday, when she often wore glittery low-cut dresses and sported flawless bleach blonde hair.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Gregory Clifford, also sported a sleeve of tattoos as she made her way into the theater.

Trump, for his part, has denied sleeping with Daniels, an encounter that allegedly took place in 2006, while future first lady Melania Trump was pregnant with the couple’s son Barron.

Avenatti, 55, was moved to a Los Angeles halfway house April 8 with a likely release date set for September 2028. Photos obtained by The Post show the once-dapper attorney sporting white flip-flops and black sweats, while tending to a mop and bucket.

The twice-convicted felon stole millions of dollars from clients— including $300,000 in book advance money from Daniels — and was busted for tax fraud and attempting to extort Nike.

He’s serving a reduced sentence of 11 years and 3 months for those crimes.

BREAKING NEWS

Iran’s IRGC navy says Hormuz Strait to stay closed until US lifts blockade

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said the Strait of Hormuz has been closed from Saturday afternoon, citing what it described as a US failure to lift its naval blockade despite ceasefire conditions.

The IRGC navy’s public relations office said that prior to the announcement, several civilian vessels had been allowed to pass through the strait via the Larak corridor under its supervision and coordination.

However, it said, the Islamic Republic shut the strategic waterway after a violation of ceasefire commitments, accusing the United States of maintaining its maritime restrictions on Iranian vessels and ports.

“The Strait of Hormuz is closed from this evening until the naval blockade is lifted,” the statement said.

The force warned that any vessel moving from its anchorage in the Persian Gulf or the Sea of Oman toward the strait would be considered as cooperating with the enemy and could be targeted.

It also instructed ship operators to follow updates exclusively through official IRGC navy channels on maritime communication channel 16, dismissing statements by the US president as lacking credibility.

Iran blames US ‘breach of trust’ for Hormuz closure

The Iranian president's deputy chief of staff said on Saturdaythe country allowed conditional passage through the Strait of Hormuz as a goodwill gesture, but reversed the move after what he described as a renewed breach of trust and misuse of the concession.

“The Islamic Republic, inorder to demonstrate goodwill and its commitment to peace, enabled conditional passage through the Strait of Hormuz, but a renewed breach of trust and exploitation of this major concession for propaganda purposes led to the closure of the waterway again,” Mehdi Tabatabaei wrote on X in an apparent reference to the United States' blockade of Iranian ports.

(These people are insane, they accuse others of exactly what they do! No one can trust them, even their own people.)

Ghalibaf calls US mine-clearing in Hormuz a ‘ceasefire violation’

Iran’s parliament speaker said in a televised interview on Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz is under the control of the Islamic Republic, and transit through the waterway will remain restricted unless the US ends the blockade of Iranian ports.

Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf saidefforts by the United States to conduct mine-clearing operations in the waterway constitute a “violation of the ceasefire.”

He said Iran had warned the US delegation in Islamabadthat if their mine-sweeper “moves even slightly forward,” it would be targeted.

Their tactic here is they really have to get the US to violate the ceasefire. Removing mines are something that can be done. These assholes think their stupid plans will work.If I was president I’d just bomb them, good thing I’m notKEK

““All indications suggest that responsibility for this attack lies with Hezbollah. France demands that the Lebanese authorities immediately arrest those responsible and assume their responsibilities alongside UNIFIL,” he wrote in a post on X.

A U.S. Naval Academy graduate with a B.S. in Physics and a former Marine combat arms officer, AJ spent his career leading high-risk missions in defense of U.S. national security.

In 2021,while serving in Southeast Asia, AJ experienced what he describes as a directed energy attack associated with reported Anomalous Health Incidents(AHIs). Subsequent medical evaluations documented biomarkers consistent with brain injury and confirmed dysautonomia, among other measurable abnormalities.

Drawing on historical research into directed energy programs and Cold War-era microwave investigations,AJ has spoken publicly about the broader national security implications of emerging non-kinetic weapons.

Following his medical retirement, he became an advocate for transparency, proper medical protocols, and full implementation of the Havana Act, engaging with congressional oversight bodies and senior national security officials to push for accountability and care for affected personnel.
