Them?
According to former KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov, demoralization is complete when a population has been subjected to a 15-to-20-year process of ideological subversion—the time required to educate one generation—that leaves them unable to objectively assess information, regardless of the evidence presented to them.
At this stage, the target nation’s society has internalized enemy ideologies, resulting in a rejection of traditional values, self-destruction, and a loss of the ability to defend its own interests.
Key characteristics of complete demoralization include:
Ideological Conditioning: A generation is programmed to think and react in specific ways.
Rejection of Truth: People are unable to process or accept true information even when presented with "undeniable evidence," rendering them incapable of resisting ideological influence.
Erosion of Values: The systematic destruction of a society's moral, cultural, and institutional foundations.
Loss of Purpose: The population loses its ability to recognize what interests it should defend.
Bezmenov argued that this process is so effective that even if a population is exposed to, or "pumped" with, opposing ideologies (such as Marxism-Leninism) for over 15–20 years, they will not see it as a threat.
