>data centers can spike local electricity prices, generate copious amounts of greenhouse gases, and place a major strain on freshwater resources.

Not True!!

They will produce surplus electricity AND water supplies

Novva Data Centers will save over 300 million gallons of water annually by using sustainable water-free cooling systemsin our colocation data centers located in Utah, Colorado, Nevada, California, and Arizona. On average, data centers use evaporative cooling systems to cool their servers. The evaporative cooling process can guzzle 3–5 million gallons of water per day, and 30–40% of the water used in this process is eventually lost to evaporation. Our waterless data center cooling system is much more efficient & environmentally sustainable than traditional data center cooling.

Closed-loop cooling in Oracle AI data centers

Oracle is committed to helping communities understand the impact of its new AI data centers, starting with details on how our cooling works and what that means for local water. In short, at our AI infrastructure data centers—including upcoming ones in New Mexico, Michigan, Texas, and Wisconsin — we plan to deploy a variety of cooling methods like closed-loop cooling that do not rely on continuous consumption of potable water. These are deliberate engineering decisions designed with local communities in mind.

The Future Data Center: Off-Grid, Water-Independent, and Purpose-Built

This is not merely an ethical position; it is an operational design principle that Duproz has already implemented. At a newly built facility in Cape Town, his team deployed a device that extracted moisture from the air to fill the facility’s closed-loop cooling circuits, eliminating the need for an external water supply. The process took approximately one month, after which the facility operated withzero ongoing water consumption and actually produced surplus waterfor the surrounding community.

THIS guy??

Will Hollingsworth

works at Reed Memorial Library

“These facilities can use millions of gallons of water per day,” he said

“They want us to trust a trillion dollar industry that tells us with a straight face that they can suck five million gallons of water out of our ground a day,” Hollingsworth argued

Yet the water “does not stay in the loop,” he explained, but “evaporates into the sky by millions of gallons”

“They say the water is filled once and recycled forever,” Hollingsworth said. “In a laboratory, that might be true. But we aren’t living in a laboratory. We’re living in Ohio.”

yea, no.

Iran-US war latest: Tehran ‘undecided on attending peace talks’ as Trump says ceasefire extension unlikely

The future of peace talks in Pakistan is up in the air ahead of the end of the ceasefire this week

President Donald Trump said he hoped to reach a "great deal" to end the war, but he did not want to extend the ceasefire, and said the US military was "raring to go" if negotiations were not successful.

Vice President JD Vance, due to lead the US delegation, had yet to board a flight for Islamabad.

And speaking to the BBC, Iranian foreign ministry spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, said that a decision had not yet been made on sending a delegation to the talks, as he expressed concern over the seizure of the Iranian vessel, along with the ongoing naval blockade of Iran’s ports.

Earlier, in an interview with Bloomberg, Mr Trump said it was “highly unlikely that I’d extend“ the ceasefire if there is no agreement to end the war by then.

Why is Iran hesitating to attend Islamabad talks with US?

JD Vance’s Visit to Pakistan Cancelled as Iran Refuses to attend Islamabad Talks

TEHRAN – The fragile two-week ceasefire between Iran and the US is about to end, and a high-stakes diplomatic crisis is unfolding as US Vice President JD Vance cancelled his trip fter Tehran’s refusal to attend talks.

Vance was supposed to lead a delegation to Pakistan, reportedly arriving Wednesday, it got delayed and eventually cancelled, turning the situation into a rapidly escalating geopolitical standoff.

No Talks under Threat

Iran hisitated to attend Talks due to pressure, with its ambassador in Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, saying that Tehran will not negotiate under threats. He made it clear that Iran, as an ancient civilization, will not be forced into talks under intimidation. Iranian state media also dismissed reports of any delegation already traveling to Islamabad, while senior officials, including Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, reiterated that “Iran does not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi blamed “provocative actions,” repeated ceasefire violations, threats against Iranian commercial vessels, and hostile rhetoric from the United States for obstructing diplomatic progress. According to Tehran, these factors have significantly damaged trust and made negotiations increasingly difficult to sustain.
