Ukrainian drones strike Russia's Yaroslavl oil refinery, General Staff says amid latest mass attack inside Russia
April 26, 2026 3:46 am
An oil refinery in the Russian city of Yaroslavl and several targets inside Russian-occupied territories were struck by Ukrainian drones overnight on April 26, Ukraine's General Staff confirmed.
The refinery was hit, resulting in a fire on the premises, the General Staff said, adding that the extent of the damage was still being assessed.
"The Yaroslavl oil refinery is a strategically important enterprise and one of the key facilities in the Russian oil refining industry," the General Staff said.
The facility operates with a refining capacity is around 15 million tons of crude oil per year, the post added.
A drone attack threat was declared in Yaroslavl Oblast earlier in the night, regional governor Mikhail Yevrayev said, as independent Telegram news channel Exilenova Plus reported strikes on an oil refinery in Yaroslavl.
Mikhail Yevrayev, Yaroslavl Oblast Governor, said on Telegram that Russia's air defense and electronic warfare forces repelled a massive attack by Ukrainian drones. He said there were no casualties in the Yaroslavl Oblast.
Another major Ukrainian attack was reported in Vologda Oblast, north of Moscow, where one of Europe's largest chemical plants was hit.
Ukrainian drones struck the Cherepovets branch of the Apatit company, which manufactures phosphate-based fertilizers, said Vologda Oblast governor Georgy Filimonov.
Five people were injured with acid burns in the attack, one seriously, said Filimonov, after a high-pressure pipeline was burst. Russian state-run media outlet RIA Novosti later added that overall 10 people were injured.
Cherepovets is around 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, making the attack the latest testament to Ukraine's ability to strike targets deep inside Russian territory.
In total, Russia's Defense Ministry claimed 203 drones were intercepted across multiple regions, including areas near Moscow, occupied Crimea, and the Black Sea.
In occupied Crimea, drone strikes were reported in the cities of Bakhchysarai and Sevastopol, Telegram news channel Crimean Wind reported.
Another Ukrainian drone attack was also reported in the city of Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast, independent Russian Telegram news channel Astra reported.
Also, Shebekinsky and Belgorod districts in Russia's Belgorod Oblast were struck by Ukrainian drones, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.
Belgorod Oblast sits along Ukraine's northeastern border with Russia.
"A residential building in the city of Alekseyevka was attacked by an airplane-type drone. A balcony in one of the apartments caught fire," Gladkov claimed.
Gladkov said one person was killed, five others injured in the attack.
Earlier in the night, the city of Alekseyevka and the village of Rzhevka in Belgorod Oblast were attacked, Gladkov said.
Four people were injured in the village of Rzhevka after a car was struck in the attack, he said. The details could not be immediately verified by the Kyiv Independent.
Ukraine regularly strikes military infrastructure deep inside Russia and the occupied territories in an effort to diminish Moscow's capacity to continue waging war on Ukraine.
Kyiv considers energy facilities to be valid military targets, as the energy sites provide fuel and funding for the Kremlin's war machine.
On April 22, Ukrainian drones struck a command post of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) in occupied Donetsk, killing 12 officers and injuring 15 others, Unmanned Systems Forces commander Robert "Madyar" Brovdi reported.

Hezbollah and Israel escalate attacks, accusing each other of violating ceasefire
Tensions soar as Hezbollah and Israel both intensify attacks, blaming each other for violating the ceasefire. The conflict continues to escalate despite attempts at diplomacy.
Hezbollah and Israel on Sunday both escalated their attacks and accusations over the other side violating the ceasefire.
Leading into Sunday, the first dispute between the sides following the April 17 ceasefire was that Israel said that the ceasefire only applied North of the Litani River, but not within southern Lebanon.
The IDF already controlled southern Lebanon and wanted to continue to destroy Hezbollah's weapons stored in nearby villages as well as kill the terror group's fighters if they remained in that area and refused to surrender.

The IDF announced that Sgt. Idan Fooks fell in southern Lebanon on Sunday.
Fooks, 19, from Petah Tikva, served in the 7th Armored Brigade's 77th Battalion.
He was killed when an explosive drone fired by Hezbollah terrorists hit his position during an operation in southern Lebanon.
Six other soldiers were injured in the incident.
Out of these, one officer and three soldiers were seriously wounded, one was moderately wounded, and the other was lightly wounded, IDF Spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin wrote on X/Twitter.
Fallen soldier receives posthumous promotion
Fooks was posthumously promoted from Corporal to Sergeant, the IDF said.
Fooks's funeral will be held on Monday afternoon, Petah Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg announced.
One of the other wounded soldiers was also from the city, Greenberg noted.

Trump tells Fox News that Iran can call US if it wants to negotiate
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Iran can reach out to the United States if it wants to negotiate an end to the war between the two countries.
"If they want to talk, they can come to us, or they can call us. You know, there is a telephone. We have nice, secure lines," Trump said in an interview on Fox News' "The Sunday Briefing."
Trump canceled a trip by his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, to Pakistan on Saturday, dealing a new setback to peace prospects after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi departed Islamabad following talks with only Pakistani officials.
Araghchi has since returned to Pakistan despite the absence of US counterparts.

Medical supply shortages loom in Iran as civilians bear the cost of ongoing conflict, UN warns
As Iran’s war continues, medical shortages loom, with critical supplies in jeopardy. The regime’s actions are felt globally, and citizens bear the brunt of the crisis.
Iran is expected to be hit with medical supply shortages should the war continue, the UN warned on Friday, with experts adding that the impact of the conflict will potentially be felt for years.
Cristhian Cortez Cardoza, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ deputy regional director for the Middle East and North Africa, said that the “intense conflict” will continue to be felt by Iranian society “for months and years to come.”
The disrupted supply chain has also meant that the factory responsible for suppling 60% of the country’s dialysis filters only has enough raw materials to continue production for the next three months, with an unknown number of filters reportedly already destroyed in medical facilities hit by strikes.

UN: Drone Attack Hits Sudan Aid Truck
17:12-26 April 2026 AD 09
A drone attack hit an aid truck in Sudan's North Darfur state, destroying all the supplies on board, the UN refugee agency said on Sunday, without identifying who was responsible.
Drone strikes by both the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), who have been locked in a brutal war since April 2023, have escalated in recent months, often killing dozens at a time.
The UNHCR-operated vehicle "came under drone attack" on Friday while transporting emergency shelter kits to Tawila, home to more than 700,000 displaced people who fled fighting elsewhere in the western Darfur region, AFP quoted the agency as saying.
The driver escaped unhurt, but all supplies were destroyed in the resulting fire, it added.
UNHCR condemned the attack, warning that it would "leave 1,314 families living in desperate conditions in Tawila without shelter" at a time when humanitarian needs are already overwhelming.
More than 127,000 people fled El-Fasher, North Darfur's capital and the army's last stronghold in the region, after it fell to paramilitary forces in October, with reports of mass killings, sexual violence, looting and rape following the takeover.
Fighting has since spread to neighboring Kordofan, now the main theatre of the war, and the southeastern Blue Nile state, raising fears of a longer and increasingly fragmented conflict.
According to the UN, nearly 700 civilians have been killed in drone strikes by both sides since January alone.
UNHCR voiced "deep concern" over the rising use of drones, calling repeated attacks on humanitarian operations "particularly abhorrent".
According to an assessment by the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, 28.9 million people, around 62 percent of Sudan's population, are facing acute food insecurity.
That includes 10.2 million who face severe food insecurity, in particular in the wider Darfur region and South Kordofan state.
Famine was declared last year in El-Fasher and Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, with 20 other areas at risk in Darfur and Kordofan, a UN-backed assessment found.
The conflict has already killed tens of thousands, uprooted over 11 million and created the world's largest displacement and hunger crises.

Did US lab study UFOs? Documentary points to leaked files linked to missing scientists
26 Apr 2026, 12:14 AM IST
Table Of Contents
Documents allegedly include memos, photos and more
1991 meeting agenda cited in leak
Missing scientists add another layer to mystery
No official confirmation of UFO programme
A new documentary has stirred debate after claiming that a cache of leaked documents points to a long-running, secret US government programme studying unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), commonly referred to as UFOs.
The claims, reported by the New York Post, centre around documents allegedly linked to a former cybersecurity chief at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico.
Investigative reporter Jeremy Corbell, who is behind the documentary titled Sleeping Dog, said he received the documents from the son of the deceased official.
Documents allegedly include memos, photos and more
According to Corbell, the materials include internal memos, sketches, and Polaroid images. He claimed these documents suggest that US authorities have been studying the origins and intent of UFOs over several decades.
“Throughout my work as a journalist, I have become a central clearinghouse for sensitive [UAP] material,” Corbell told the New York Post, adding that families of deceased insiders have increasingly come forward with undisclosed records.
In the documentary, he recounts how the son of the former lab official discovered the documents while sorting through his father’s belongings after his death.
The identities of the individuals involved—including the official, his son, and the scientists referenced—have not been disclosed in the film, reportedly due to safety concerns.
1991 meeting agenda cited in leak
One of the documents highlighted in the film reportedly details an agenda from a high-level meeting held on April 24, 1991, at Los Alamos.
The meeting is said to have involved representatives from agencies including the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), National Security Administration (NSA), the US Navy, and the US Army.
New trailer released for upcoming documentary about UFO investigator Jeremy Corbell titled "Sleeping Dog"
"I've been holding a secret for 11 years.
It's not a video of an alien, it's not a video of a craft, it's more than that."
The agenda reportedly referenced investigations into “atmospheric anomalies” and included discussions on incidents such as the 1987 Gulf Breeze sightings in Florida and the 1989 Belgian UFO wave.
Other topics listed in the meeting document included technological development of sensors, possible foreign inputs described as “Soviet offerings”, and potential collaboration with academic institutions such as MIT and Stanford.
Missing scientists add another layer to mystery
The documentary also draws attention to cases of missing or deceased individuals connected to Los Alamos. According to the report, two of the 11 scientists referenced in the broader narrative had links to the lab.
Among recent cases, retired engineer Anthony Chavez was reported missing in May 2025 after going for a walk. Authorities said he left behind personal belongings, including his wallet and keys, and has not been found despite search efforts.
In a separate case, Melissa Casias, an administrative assistant at the lab, went missing in June 2025 after dropping off lunch for her daughter. She was last seen on surveillance footage walking along a highway.
Authorities reportedly found both her home and work phones reset and left behind, though no further details have been officially confirmed linking the disappearance to the claims made in the documentary.
No official confirmation of UFO programme
While the documentary presents the documents as evidence of a secret programme, there has been no official confirmation from US authorities supporting these claims.
Los Alamos National Laboratory, originally established under the leadership of J. Robert Oppenheimer as part of the Manhattan Project, remains one of the most secure and closely monitored research facilities in the United States.
The documentary is scheduled for release on May 17.
What remains unverified
The claims made in the film rely heavily on documents that have not been independently verified in the public domain. The connection between the alleged UFO research and the missing individuals also remains unclear.
As such, while the documentary raises questions about classified research and unexplained incidents, its assertions have not been substantiated by official investigations.

Report: Air Force Veteran Mysteriously Dies of Overdose Before Testifying on UFOs
25 Apr 2026
An Air Force veteran mysteriously died from a drug and alchohol overdose before he could testify before Congress about his knowledge of UFOs, according to a recent report.
Matthew James Sullivan, 39, who had been “part of a so-called legacy UFO program,” died on May 12, 2024, months before he was supposed to testify at a congressional hearing in November, according to the New York Post.
Sullivan was reported to have died at his home in Falls Church, Virginia, “from a lethal mix of alcohol, alprazolam, cyclobenzaprine and imipramine,” the Northern District Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said, according to the outlet:
Alprazolam is generic Xanax, an anti-anxiety medication; cyclobenzaprine is a powerful prescription muscle relaxant that works on the central nervous system; imipramine is a drug of children used to treat anxiety and bedwetting.
In a letter addressed to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) expressed that “the manner and circumstances of” Sullivan’s death “raise substantial questions,” as Sullivan was going to testify on alleged government UFO programs.
“The sudden and suspicious circumstances surrounding his death raise significant concerns about potential foul play and the safety of other individuals,” Burlison added.
Sources told the outlet that the government program that Sullivan had been a part of was “the US government’s crash retrieval program.” The sources added that Sullivan had allegedly “personally seen UFOs in the federal government’s possession.”
Breitbart News’s Lowell Cauffiel reported that President Donald Trump directed federal officials to look into “the mysterious deaths or disappearances of 11 scientists and individuals with access to government secrets.”
Burlison, in several instances, has called for answers, as “scientists tied to critical U.S. programs are going missing or turning up dead.”

It’s Not Aliens: Scientists Reveal Origins of Underwater Orb
April 25, 2026 6:51 pm EDT
Let us know if you’ve heard this one before: a scientific expedition ventures below the surface of the water and finds a mysterious round object that defies any understanding.
Yes, that is the basic plot of Michael Crichton’s novel Sphere — later adapted for film — but it’s also a description of something found in 2023 in the Gulf of Alaska.
At the time, The Guardian‘s Hannah Devlin described the discovery as a “smooth object with an intriguing hole at the center.”
Now, the mystery of what this bizarre object is has been solved. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the discovery made in 2023 is part of a massive sea anemone, Relicanthus daphneae.
How massive are we talking about? Reportedly, the tentacles of the species can extend to seven feet long — so, either a surreal underwater sight or the genesis of nightmare fuel, depending on the observer.
As the NOAA explained, the orb is part of the body of this type of anemone; specifically, it’s what the creature uses to attach itself to a hard surface.
The fact that it took several years to determine what this was is illustrative of the challenges that the NOAA’s scientists faced in researching it.
“[T]his turned into a special case that required focused efforts and expertise of several different individuals,” explained Allen Collins, Ph.D. “This was a complex mystery that required morphological, genetic, deep-sea and bioinformatics expertise to solve.”
The researchers faced several challenges in determining what this object was, including the fact hat DNA barcoding was ineffective in corresponding to any one species.
Scientists were finally able to find similar structures in the orb to a sample of the same species acquired during an expedition launched by the Schmidt Ocean Institute in 2021.
In scientific terms, the species of anemone represented here is a relatively recent discovery.
As the American Museum of Natural History pointed out in a 2019 article on the creature, humans have only been aware of Relicanthus daphneae for around 50 years, and debate over how best to classify it has extended until recently.
Had this orb been found a few years or decades earlier, the process of identifying it might have gone very differently.

David's final letter.
I do deeply apologize to everyone if something like an accident ended up happening.
Thank you for loving me.
I feel I have done the very best that I could.
My health has collapsed from poverty, starvation, and disease.
I have also now almost completely run out of money.
I did my very best to keep on going for as long as I could.
For my family, friends, and all of my greater family of supporters, I want you to know how much I love you and how sorry I am if something ended up happening to me. I know that accidents are possible in my reduced state.
…
I hope that this serves as a valid outline for path forward in the event that I was lost and that I have your forgiveness. I feel I have done the best I could do in a very difficult situation."
