The head of Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency claims the organization has infiltrated activities in both Iran and Lebanon and gathered “valuable intelligence.”
In comments made on Tuesday, David Barnea said Mossad had secured both strategic and tactical intelligence gains, including access to what he described as highly sensitive enemy information. He also said the agency has shown new and previously unseen operational capabilities inside targeted states.
Barnea said Mossad has evolved into a more proactive and offensive force during wartime. He noted that in the past, its activities were supposedly mainly focused on covert operations between wars.
He added that this shift has been evident in actions directed at Iran and Lebanon, supported by the establishment of new units and specialized capabilities in recent years, along with increased use of advanced technologies and broader innovation across its operations.
