You really can't people's desire to influence the world around themselves. It's just that when their sense of self becomes too deeply intertwined with artificial institutions , and their ability to affect change outpaces their competence, things can get bad. So people need (and therefore will receive) assistance to learn and to grow, to meet the new challenges which they face.
