Take this Job & Shove It!
RIP🙏: Legendary outlaw country singer-songwriter David Allan Coe has died at age 86. His wife Kimberly confirmed his passing Wednesday, calling him "one of the best singers and songwriters of our time."
Coe penned some of country music's most iconic songs, including "Take This Job and Shove It" for Johnny Paycheck, "Would You Lay With Me" for Tanya Tucker, and was the first to record "Tennessee Whiskey."
His own hits included "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" and "The Ride." A self-described outsider in Nashville, Coe built a devoted following through decades of raw, unfiltered music and toured alongside Willie Nelson, Kid Rock, and Neil Young.
