Fifteen years ago today (1 May 2011), U.S. Navy SEALs raided a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan and killed Usama Bin Laden. The raid marked the end of a more than 15-year effort by partners across the Intelligence Community to find Bin Ladin.

Historic meeting and first of its kind visit this week in Montana on the Crow Reservation with our tribal partners represented by the Crow, Northern Cheyenne, Fort Belknap and Fort Peck tribes– the first time FBI leadership has shown up here.
These tribal partners are working with this FBI at a higher level than ever before to make sure Indian Country law enforcement needs are never left behind through Operation Not Forgotten, our Operation Steadfast Promise surge that began this month, and multiple joint ops coming in the near future. We’ve already had tremendous success - as of this week we have 400 FBI agents dedicated to Indian Country, 3 brand new Safe Trails Task Forces (for a total of 29 in the U.S.) and have already made hundreds arrests for violent crime, rescued hundreds of children, and are retooling our Lab efforts to meet the mission. For our Tribal partners all over the country, this priority is for you and this FBI is here to deliver. More resources than ever before are being poured into Indian Country.
