British kids as young as five are now being read picture books that paint small boat crossings in glowing terms and urge them to open the door to unlimited migration.

While record numbers of illegal arrivals strain housing, schools and public services, left-wing charities are using taxpayer-backed programmes to turn classrooms into recruitment centres for open borders ideology.

More than 1,100 schools and nurseries across the UK have signed up to the Schools of Sanctuary programme, run by the City of Sanctuary network. The scheme requires schools to complete a “rigorous” award process to prove they are “working collaboratively to strengthen community approaches to welcoming refugee children and families.” Once awarded, they pay a minimum donation of £75 to £300.

As part of the programme, schools are given a suggested reading list packed with pro-migrant messaging. One book, Kind by Alison Green, illustrated by renowned children’s illustrators such as Quentin Blake and Axel Scheffler, tells children: “Sometimes people have lived through very hard times. They’ve had to leave their homes and their countries because of danger. They are brave and amazing and have extraordinary stories to tell.”

It continues: “Sometimes people say there’s no room for anyone more. But maybe you can say ‘There’s plenty of room! Come on in!’ After all, if you don’t let people in, you’ll never know what you’re missing.”

Yeah, come on in! In fact, come on in and live in a hotel in a nice green village, all at taxpayer expense!

The book features a cartoon lion in a crowded boat with other animals and encourages pupils to share toys, draw pictures together and even learn words from a foreign child’s language.

According to the French Directorate General for Foreigners (DGEF), valid French residence permits in 2025 hit an unprecedented level of 4.5 million, an increase of approximately 3 percent, driven primarily by multi-year permits and long-term resident cards, writes Le Journal du Dimanche.

For 2025, one in three permits was issued for family reasons (1.5 million), while one in five was an automatic renewal. New permits also increased to 384,000, a jump of 11 percent, which was partly driven by a 65 percent increase in admissions for humanitarian reasons.

Foreigners with legal status now represent 8.1 percent of France’s adult population, with a high concentration of nationalities from the Maghreb. At the same time, regularizations have declined (-10%, to 28,610), while deportations have increased sharply (+15.7%, to 24,985), reaching their highest level in a decade, notes JDD.

Maréchal more recently posted a telling video of the number of illegals coming to the EU, blasting French leaders for their continuous stance of “above all, let’s do nothing!”

Israel accused of destroying Christian convent in Lebanon in latest attack on Christians

Church leaders warn of growing pattern of Israeli attacks on Christian communities in Lebanon, Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories

A Catholic charity has condemned Israel after its forces destroyed a convent in southern Lebanon, in what it said is a deliberate attack on a place of worship.

The French organisation L'Oeuvre d'Orient said Israeli troops demolished a convent belonging to the Salvatorian Sisters, a Greek Catholic religious order, in the village of Yaroun.

“L'Oeuvre d'Orient strongly condemns this deliberate act of destruction against a place of worship, as well as the systematic demolition of homes in southern Lebanon aimed at preventing the return of civilian populations,” the group said in a statement on Friday.

The charity said the attack forms part of a wider pattern of attacks on Christian heritage, noting that “Christian sanctuaries were also destroyed during the war in 2024, such as the Melkite churches in the villages of Yaroun and Derdghaya, both classified as part of Lebanon's heritage”.

Images circulating in April showed an Israeli soldier using a jackhammer to desecrate a statue of Jesus on a cross in southern Lebanon, fuelling anger among Christian communities around the world.

Reports of violence against Christians have intensified across the region.

In occupied East Jerusalem, a nun was assaulted earlier this week near the Cenacle on Mount Zion. The 48-year-old researcher received medical treatment after sustaining facial injuries.

Four more UNRWA workers took part in Oct. 7 attacks, tied to Hamas, USAID evidence finds

To date, its investigations have led to the suspension or disbarment of 21 individuals who either participated in the October 7 attacks or had affiliations with Hamas.

The USAID Office of Inspector General (USAID OIG) identified evidence that four more current or former UNRWA staff members participated in the October 7 massacre or have Hamas affiliations or both, the statutorily independent law enforcement and oversight entity announced on Thursday.

Three of those identified were UNRWA-employed teachers, and the fourth was an UNRWA social worker, who were alleged to have held civilians hostage after they were abducted from southern Israel and or carried out terrorist activities in Israeli territory on October 7, 2023.

The staff has been referred to the US State Department, where it is possible a formal suspension or disbarment will prevent them from working in US-funded aid organizations in the future, USAID OIG confirmed.

USAID OIG confirmed that its ongoing investigations have led to the suspension and or disbarment of 21 individuals who either participated in the October 7 attacks or had affiliations with Hamas.

Notably, the investigations led to the 10-year government-wide debarment of Hafez Mousa Mohammed Mousa, an UNRWA school principal and operative of Hamas’s East Jabalya Battalion.

Trump Warns U.S. Will ‘Take Over’ Cuba Right After Iran

Joking during remarks at the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches in Florida on May 1, President Donald Trump said that the United States would be “taking over” Cuba “almost immediately” after Iran.

“And he comes from, originally, a place called Cuba, which we will be taking over almost immediately,” Trump said, speaking to representative Dan Mica.

“Cuba’s got problems. We’ll finish one first. I like to finish a job,” he added.

Trump then went on to suggest that he could send one of the U.S. largest aircraft carriers in a show of force near Cuba after ending the war on Iran.

“On the way back from Iran, we’ll have one of our big — maybe the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier — the biggest in the world,” he said.

“We’ll have that come in, stop about 100 yards offshore, and they’ll say, ‘Thank you very much, we give up,” he added.

Tensions between the two countries have been on the rise since Trump ordered a special operation to capture Nicolas Maduro, the long-term leader of Cuban ally Venezuela, earlier this year. More than 30 Cuban troops who were guarding Maduro’s residency in Caracas were killed in the operation.

Right after, Trump vowed to starve Cuba of oil, amid one of the worst energy crises in the history of the communist-ruled nation.

Russia has since shipped oil to Cuba. A floating power ship operated by the Turkish company Karpowership also returned to the nation.

Recent weeks saw more escalations with reports suggesting that the U.S. is preparing military plans for Cuba, and Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel vowing to fight back.

While presented as a joke, Trump’s latest remarks should be taken very seriously. Just a day earlier, Trump signed an executive order on Friday broadening U.S. sanctions against the Cuban government. The fresh sanctions target people, entities and affiliates that support the Cuban government’s security apparatus or are alleged to be complicit in corruption or serious human rights violations, as well as agents, officials or supporters of the government.

Cuba’s foreign minister, Bruno Rodriguez said that the sanctions constituted “collective punishment” of the nation’s people.

“We firmly reject the recent unilateral coercive measures adopted by the #UnitedStates government,” he posted on X.

While Trump has suggested more than once that the U.S. could move against Cuba in a way or another after the war on Iran is over, this could happen at any movement. A military operation in the island nation could come faster, without much preparations to be noticed by observers, due to its proximity to the U.S. mainland.

Ghost Operators: How Israeli Telecoms Were Exploited to Track Citizens Worldwide

Report shows how an SMS exploit turns smartphones into tracking devices – and how 4G and 5G networks are abused

Israeli telecom infrastructure was used to track citizens in more than ten countries over the past three years, according to a report published recently by the digital research group Citizen Lab.

The findings, reviewed by Haaretz in recent weeks, expose how efforts to upgrade phone network infrastructures built in the 1970s for the smartphone era still leave even the most advanced devices exposed to surveillance.

The report describes two separate tracking operations, each likely run by a commercial firm selling surveillance technologies to governments around the world. One was also found to have exploited Israeli geolocation technology to track targets, using networks belonging to 019Mobile and Partner Communications, although both Israeli companies denied any involvement.

A second, more sophisticated operation is linked to a Swiss firm at the center of a 2023 Haaretz investigation for supplying Israeli surveillance companies, including Rayzone, which develops and sells cyber intelligence technologies to government agencies around the world.

The investigation found that the Swiss telecom company allowed companies like Rayzone to impersonate cellular carriers and connect to legacy mobile networks in order to track users worldwide, exploiting an older telecom signaling protocol called SS7 for surveillance purposes. SS7 was originally designed to route calls and text messages, enable international roaming, and connect different mobile operators.

British regulators banned the practice last week in an effort to crack down on tracking spyware, after more than a decade of investigative reporting on its abuse, calling the practice the largest source of malicious traffic to mobile networks.

Moreover, Citizen Lab's findings show that newer signalling systems – introduced to strengthen security measures – are being similarly exploited by spyware firms, despite being designed to mitigate security risks and prevent surveillance.

One example is Diameter, a mobile network system that handles 4G international roaming and most 5G networks, designed to streamline cellular connectivity to the internet, which was now shown to be susceptible to tracking spyware.
