Cruise ship that departed from Argentina towards Cape Verde is under WHO scrutiny after 3 deaths and 7 presumed infections related to a hantavirus took place aboard.
Spain has offered to dock the infected ship MV Hondius in the Canary Islands.
WHO believes an inter-human infection may have taken place on the ship. It is an extremely rare possibility for a hantavirus to become an emerging zoonotic disease.
