🚨 Hantavirus update that changes the story:
One of the Canadians now self-isolating was never on the cruise ship. They sat on the same flight home as two people who were.
That's the first confirmed secondary exposure outside the ship itself.
U.S., Singapore, Canada, Switzerland, South Africa. All now have active monitoring cases. 146 people from 23 countries still aboard the vessel. Incubation: up to 6 weeks. The window isn't closed.
WHO says risk is low. No large epidemic expected. That assessment is probably correct.
But "low risk of large epidemic" and "contained" are not the same sentence.
