Massie may or may not being playing a role, but he symbolizes the panicans. I see two issues they're worrying about. #1 Israel first & #2 surveillance state architecture.
Many here would agree that #1 is trap. #2 is harder to dismiss though, but the solution to both is the same.
2 things need to happen to rug pull this whole thing, but it doesn't happen until it looks like the gates are about to shut us all in.
First, we need AI that's small and effective enough to be client side, aka personal, private, and unbreakable. This will happen. Perhaps some of the more complex processing can be done by data centers through homomorphic encryption and other algorithmic tricks for a fee, but ultimately the data and the metadata will still be safe. The fee makes that great business sustainable without data mining, surveillance, etc.!
The second part of the solution that rug pulls the whole thing at just the climactic moment may seem more like hopium because it's such a big idea but it's all too real: we need distributed/decentralized routing of data, aka a new internet. This is a protocol solution that can co-opt the exact architecture that's being built out for (((their))) surveillance state. It's basically a nintendo cartridge swap level of ease. Unknown to many, the solution is ready. There may be a period of transition, but think of it as a financially incentivized TOR network on steroids on which the spare memory of all users is combined to replicate the function of IPs, servers, and big data nodes, i.e. removing the middle man. With financial incentives, built for AI, quantum-proof encryption, and data sharding and redundancy, it flips the whole table.
Don't be a panican. This is where we are headed, and because it's such a technically deep change to the internet stack, routing protocols, most probably won't see or know it's happened.
People will be still debating FISA while they don't realize that the spying tools that FISA authorizes is no longer even effective against such a network. Things will just get better and the future will prove the past. In the meantime, the panicans need to do more homework and we need the people in support of the evil to keep building out and funding the architecture of their own demise, unwittingly or by blackmail.
