ANOTHER MINISTER RESIGNS ASKING STARMER TO STEP DOWN
Alex Davies-Jones resigned from her position as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Victims and Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls on 12 May 2026.
Her resignation letter, shared on social media, implored Prime Minister Keir Starmer to "act in the country's interest and set out a timetable for your departure." She joined Jess Phillips and another minister in resigning following a cabinet meeting where Starmer refused to trigger a leadership challenge, stating the country expected the government to "get on with governing." Davies-Jones had served in the role since July 2024 and was the MP for Pontypridd.
