Here's why Trump's suggestion that Iran could join the Abraham Accords reflects a foreign policy of real physical economics — and why the CFR's new "Future of American Strategy" project is a tacit admission that the British-led liberal international order is finished.

Ottawa seeking contractor to distribute N95 respirators and medical masks across Canada

https://www.rebelnews.com/ottawa_seeking_contractor_to_distribute_n95_respirators_and_medical_masks_across_canada

The federal government is once again making arrangements involving N95 respirators and medical masks.

A newly posted procurement notice shows the Public Health Agency of Canada is seeking a contractor to provide distribution services for respirators and medical masks through its existing networks and emergency partners. The solicitation was posted through the government procurement platform MERX.

According to the procurement notice, the selected contractor would be responsible for distributing respirators and medical masks to "operational sites" including office locations, reception centres and emergency lodging facilities, as well as through networks of communities, non-government organizations and emergency management partners on behalf of PHAC.

The notice does not indicate that a new public health emergency has been declared, nor does it specifically reference COVID-19. The request appears tied to PHAC's ongoing management of its emergency stockpile and distribution systems.

Canada has maintained large inventories of masks and respirators through the federal emergency stockpile system since the COVID-19 pandemic. Ottawa previously entered into long-term agreements for domestic production and supply of N95 respirators and medical masks to support future emergency preparedness.

Quebec man arrested over alleged support for ISIS-linked posts; Hamas support also uncovered

https://www.rebelnews.com/quebec_man_arrested_over_alleged_support_for_isis_linked_posts_hamas_support_also_uncovered

On Thursday, May 21, the RCMP arrested a 40-year-old man, Mohamed Ali Ben Chaoua, a Tunisian-born welder according to his LinkedIn profile, on allegations of having posted multiple messages on the social media platform TikTok in support of the Islamic State.

The investigation reportedly began in March 2025 following an online tip submitted through the RCMP’s National Security Information Line.

While the accused’s TikTok account now appears to be unavailable for public verification, a review of Mohamed Ali Ben Chaoua’s Facebook activity by Rebel News has uncovered several posts that have not been reported by mainstream media.

In 2014, Ben Chaoua posted an image, not once but twice, of the Islamic declaration of faith, the Shahada, set against a black background, used as the flag commonly associated with ISIS and Al-Qaeda.

Following the October 7, 2023 Hamas terror attack on Israel—which left more than 1,000 people dead —Ben Chaoua appears to have become increasingly radicalized. On October 11, 2023, he reshared an AI-generated image showing paraglider attackers, referencing the Hamas assault and massacre on young civilians attending a music festival, captioned: “Award for the most beautiful picture of the year 2023.” Continue…

Swiss-based tech company says it would not comply with Canada’s dystopian internet bill

https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/swiss-based-tech-company-says-it-would-not-comply-with-canadas-dystopian-internet-bill/

One of the world’s foremost internet Virtual Private Network (VPN) companies has stated that it would not comply with a “dystopian” Canadian government bill, which, if passed, would both give police extra powers to monitor and search Canadians’ online digital activity without a warrant and mandate that logs be kept of user data.

Proton VPN, a Swiss-based tech company, said there is “no universe” in which it would log user data for the purpose of giving it to the government or officials on demand.

“We’re going to reiterate this one more time: there is no universe in which Proton VPN compromises its no-logs policy,” said Proton in a recent post on X.

Proton was referring to Bill C-22, which was introduced by Canadian Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree, purportedly to address privacy concerns relating to another bill, Bill C-2, that would have permitted police and government officials to open and examine Canadians’ personal mail. It would also ban cash donations over $10,000.

Proton said that, as written, Bill C-22 “empowers the government to order VPN providers in Canada to retain metadata for up to a year.”

The Swiss company noted how the European Union’s highest court has already “struck down this type of mass data retention legislation twice already, suggesting it won’t stand up to scrutiny.” Continue…

Tim Hortons Says It Will Hire 10,000 Local Workers Amid Criticism of Temporary Foreign Worker Use

Tim Hortons says it will hire 10,000 local workers as it announced new locations across Canada amid criticism of its reliance on temporary foreign workers.

The company hosted 400 local hiring events in March and April, and will hold more throughout the year, it said on May 25.

Currently, about 4,000 Tim Hortons employees out of 110,000 nationwide were hired through the temporary foreign worker program, the company says, adding that this was done amid a labour shortage following the COVID-19 pandemic.

“However, today in 2026, with high youth unemployment nationally, lobbying for expanded access is no longer necessary,“ it says. ”In fact, our restaurant owners’ use of the program has already declined steadily since 2024.”

Tim Hortons has attracted controversy in recent years for its reliance on the Temporary Foreign Worker program, and the Conservative Party of Canada has accused the company of overusing the program.

“Companies like Tim Hortons, the once beloved coffee shop that gave a first paycheque to countless Canadian teens, have hired an almost unimaginable number of TFWs – 1,131 percent more for Tim Hortons over just four years alone,” the party said in a press release in September of last year, calling for an end to the program. Ontario man dies of MAID after being assessed outside Tim Hortons

https://nationalpost.com/news/ontario-man-dies-of-maid-after-being-assessed-outside-tim-hortons

A London, Ont., doctor who assessed a patient with inflammatory bowel disease and a history of mental health issues for MAID outside a Tim Hortons location and later personally drove the man to the place his life was ended has agreed to a minimum six months’ supervision.

In another case, Dr. James MacLean failed to administer one of three drugs used in assisted deaths — one that paralyzes the body’s muscles, including the muscles involved in breathing. The patient resumed spontaneously breathing again after initially being pronounced dead, and after MacLean had already left the home.

As first reported Monday by the The Globe and Mail, the doctor’s case is raising new concerns about MAID’s oversight and accountability.

“What is striking is not only the seriousness of the concerns identified in these cases, but the limited regulatory response,” said Dr. Ramona Coelho, a family physician and former member of the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario’s MAID death review committee.

As part of an investigation by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) into two public complaints made against MacLean, an independent assessor appointed to review a number of MacLean’s charts concluded that he “did not meet the standard of practice of the profession, displayed a lack of judgment and that his conduct exposes or is likely to expose patients to harm or injury in five out of twenty charts reviewed,” according to a summary decision of the college’s inquiries, complaints and reports committee.

MacLean was called before the committee to be verbally “cautioned” with respect to the MAID complaints. Continue…
