Trump Proposes National 'Social Credit Score' System, Calls It 'Beautiful' and 'Very Smart'

Washington, D.C. – In a fiery rally speech Tuesday night in West Palm Beach, former President and 2028 frontrunner Donald J. Trump unveiled what he described as his boldest policy idea yet: a federal "Social Credit Score" system designed to track and reward "good American behavior."

"This is going to be huge, folks," Trump told a cheering crowd of thousands. "China has this thing, the social credit score. They say it's terrible, but actually, it's very smart. Very strong. People get points for being loyal, for working hard, for not being troublemakers. If you're a good person – a really good person – you get the good score. If you're a bad actor, a low-life, or one of these radical left protesters, you get the bad score. Simple as that."

Trump went on to praise the Chinese model as "way ahead of us" and vowed to implement an American version that would integrate with everything from loan approvals and travel permissions to access to government benefits and even priority boarding on airlines.

"Under my plan, if you pay your taxes on time, stand for the National Anthem, and don't spread fake news, you get bonus points," he said, gesturing emphatically. "Maybe you get a tax cut. Maybe you get to skip the lines at the DMV. Tremendous perks. But if you're burning flags or posting mean things about me on social media – sorry, but your score goes down. That's how you make America great again. Loyalty matters."

The proposal, which Trump dubbed the "Patriot Score Initiative," would reportedly draw on data from social media, financial records, criminal backgrounds, and "public sentiment analysis" conducted by a new federal agency. Trump claimed the system would "drain the swamp" by identifying disloyal bureaucrats and reward "real patriots" who supported law enforcement and traditional values.

Critics were quick to condemn the idea. ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero called it "a dystopian nightmare that would shred the First Amendment," while several Republican lawmakers privately expressed alarm, with one anonymous source telling reporters, "This is not what we signed up for."

Trump dismissed the backlash as "fake news from losers." "They said the same thing about the wall, about the travel ban, about everything I do," he added. "But the American people love strength. This is strength. This is winning."

When asked about potential constitutional concerns, Trump replied, "The Constitution? We have the best Constitution, but sometimes you have to update things. This will be beautiful. Believe me."

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to requests for further details on implementation or how scores would be calculated, but sources close to the former president suggested a pilot program could launch in early 2027 if he secures the nomination and wins the general election.

Political analysts say the surprise announcement could energize his base while risking broader alienation. A new poll from the fictional "American Pulse Institute" showed 68% of likely Republican primary voters "strongly supportive" of exploring a social credit-style system.
