President Trump was also asked about his endorsement of Ken Paxton in the Texas senate race, to wit Trump noted Ken Paxton will win the primary and easily defeat the Democrat in the race.

Ukrainian police bosses detained in porn probe(PHOTOS)

Adult content producers allegedly paid monthly bribes to keep their illegal operations from being investigated

Published 20 May, 2026 13:04

Senior Ukrainian police officialshave been detained on suspicion of accepting regular bribes from underground porn studios.

Among the high-ranking law enforcement figures arrested on Wednesdayin western Ukraine were the police chief of Ivano-Frankovsk Region and his deputy, as well as deputy police chiefs from the Ternopol and Zhitomir regions, authorities said.

A fifth suspect works in the Interior Ministry’s garage and served as a personal driver for a deputy minister, officials said. Investigators allege that he acted as an intermediary and money courier in the corruption scheme.

The anti-graft operation, carried out by several agencies together with the National Police’s internal investigations division, targeted the production of adult content, an illegal but reportedly thriving industry in Ukraine. The suspects are accused ofreceiving monthly payments of around $25,000 per studio in exchange for shielding porn producers from law enforcement scrutiny.

Investigators =seized six luxury cars, five expensive Swiss watches, and cash worth roughly $510,000 while executing search warrants connected to the case==, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko said.

Opinion polls have suggested thatwidespread government corruption is seen by many Ukrainians as an even greater threat to the country than the conflict with Russia. Last week, Andrey Yermak, a former chief of staff to Vladimir Zelensky, was arrested in a money-laundering case. He was released on Monday after backers posted bail of $3.2 million on his behalf.

Yermak is linked to a broader investigation into an alleged criminal network said to have been led by Timur Mindich, a longtime associate of Zelensky who fled Ukraine last November shortly before being indicted.

Zelensky has also faced corruption allegations, but his continued claim to presidential authority under martial law, despite his term expiring two years ago, has shielded him from potential prosecution.

Kremlin responds to ‘borderline crazy’ threat from NATO state

The Lithuanian foreign minister said the bloc should show it could “raze” military infrastructure in the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad

Published 20 May, 2026 08:24

Recent threats directed at Russia’s Kaliningrad Region by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys are “borderline crazy”and reflect a “maniacal” hostility toward Russia among Lithuania’s leadership, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said.

In an interview with Neue Zurcher Zeitung published on Monday,Budrys described NATO as the “strongest organization ever created” and called for a more aggressive approach toward Moscow. Russia, he claimed, had left behind only a “toxic and corrupt” legacy in the former Soviet republic.

“We must transform our fear of the threat into a sense of empowerment,” Budrys said, voicing confidence in NATO’s mutual defense commitments and, in particular,Germany’s readiness to fight for Lithuania.

“We must show the Russians that we can penetrate the small fortress they have built in Kaliningrad,” he added.“NATO has the means to raze the Russian air defense and missile bases there to the ground if necessary.”

Responding to the comments, Peskov told Russian mediathat Budrys’ statement did not merit serious analysis. He suggested that Lithuania is being led by “unbridled” politicians who are incapable of sober strategic thinking, which he said ultimately works in Russia’s favor.

This anti-Russian sentiment makes them blind, prevents them from thinking about the future and from acting in the interests of their nations,” Peskov said, referring to political elites in all three Baltic states.

Later in the day, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov echoed Peskov’s remarks, arguing that Western officials resort to such hostile rhetoric to assert their relevance. “But unlike the philosopher [Rene Descartes] who said ‘I think, therefore I am’ these people simply are,” the diplomat joked.

The remarks come as the European Union debates whether to resume diplomatic engagement with Moscow.Russia says the ball is in Brussels’ court since it chose to suspend contacts over the Ukraine conflict. Budrys’ Estonian counterpart, Margus Tsahkna, has urged Western nations to increase pressure on Russia instead, telling Bloomberg last weekthat “now is not the moment to talk or negotiate.”

A hardline position toward Russia remains prominent within the EU leadership, including in the office of the bloc’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas. The former Estonian prime minister was jettisoned to Brussels in 2024after her domestic approval ratings dived in the wake of a scandal over her husband’s business interests in Russia.

EU elites have caused ‘unimaginable damage’ – ex-Polish PM

Leszek Miller has lashed out at Ursula von der Leyen, Kaja Kallas, and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel

Published 20 May, 2026 14:4

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and former German Chancellor Angela Merkelhave done “unimaginable damage” to the EU through a series of disastrous policies, former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller has said.

Miller, who was responsible for Warsaw’s 2004 accession to the EU, took to X on Tuesdayafter Merkel received the newly created European Order of Merit award, presented to her by von der Leyen during a ceremony in Strasbourg.

“Merkel and von der Leyen are two German women who have caused unimaginable damage to the European Union. I hopethat justice will still catch up with them,” Miller wrote.

Merkel led Germany from 2005 to 2021 through multiple crises. Among her most divisive policies was the decision to admit large numbers of asylum seekers during the 2015 migration crisis.

Among Merkel’s other disputed policies is Germany’s nuclear phaseout after the Fukushima disaster in 2011. The current chancellor, Friedrich Merz, has called the move a “huge mistake.”

Merkel also took part in negotiating the 2014 and 2015 Minsk accords between Russia and Ukraine, admitting in 2022 that the agreements were intended in part to “give Ukraine time” to strengthen its military.Moscow said it was “deceived” by the deal’s European guarantors.

Von der Leyen, meanwhile, has become one of the EU’s most polarizing leadersover her backing for aid to Ukraine and sweeping sanctions on Russia that critics say have fueled inflation and put pressure on European industry.

Critics also accuse von der Leyen of centralizing power and sidestepping traditional EU decision-making processes, particularly through efforts to weaken or abolish member states’ veto powers.

In a separate post, Miller lashed out at EU foreign policy chief andRussia hawk Kaja Kallas after she argued that the bloc must be able to “beat” Russia to confront China.

“The European Union is not made up entirely of idiots, but Ms. Kallas undoubtedly hails from that species,” Miller wrote.

The remarks echo Russian criticism of the current EU leadership. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in 2025there were “no prospects for meaningful dialogue with the bulk of these elites in Europe,” while former President Dmitry Medvedev has described European leaders as “destructive and narrow-minded people.”

Putin and Trump could meet in November – Kremlin

The potential encounter may happen at the APEC summit in China, Yury Ushakov has indicated

Published 20 May, 2026 17:

Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump could meet on the sidelines of the APEC summit in China in November, Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov has said, while stressing that no talks are currently planned.

Putin, who has just concluded his official two-day visit to China, told Chinese President Xi Jinpingthat he plans to attend the APEC summit in Shenzhen on November 18-19. Trump, who also traveled to China last week, has reportedly signaled that he intends to take part as well.

“Our president has confirmed that he will come to the APEC summit,” Ushakov told reporters on Wednesday. “I think that, in any case, if both leaders are in China, they will probably cross paths and hold some kind of meeting,” he said.

The Russian presidential aide added that“so far this has not yet been agreed, but given that such a prospect exists, it is unlikely that anyone would refuse it.”

A potential meeting in China would follow the August 2025 summit between Putin and Trump in Alaska –the first and only face-to-face meeting between Russian and US leaders since the escalation of the Ukraine conflict in 2022. The meeting ended without a ceasefire deal but was described by both sides as productive.

Since returning to the White House, Trump has alternatedbetween criticizing Putin over the lack of progress toward an Ukraine peace deal and praising their personal relationship. The two leaders have held several phone calls focused on the Ukraine conflict and other major international issues, including the US-Israeli war with Iran.

Trump hinted at a possible trip to Russia this year, telling journalists last week that he would “do whatever is necessary” to help facilitate a settlement to the Ukraine conflict, as Washington-backed direct talks between Moscow and Kiev have stalled. The Kremlin has said Putin is ready to host Trump.

Russia has maintained that any peaceful settlement is predicated on Kiev withdrawing from the remaining areas of Donbass that are still under its control.

US to cut wartime troop commitments to NATO – Reuters

The Pentagon reportedly plans to“significantly scale down”the size of the forces that Europe can rely on during a conflict

Published 19 May, 2026 22:39

The administration of President Donald Trump is reportedly set to tell European NATO members that theUS will reduce the military capabilities available to the bloc in the event of a major crisis, including an attack on a member state.

Although the composition of the forces assigned under the NATO Force Model is classified, thePentagon has decided to “significantly scale down” its commitment, Reuters reported on Tuesday.

The plan isexpected to be announced at a meeting of defense policy chiefs in Brussels on May 22, according to three anonymous sources familiar with the matter. The US is expected to berepresented at the meeting by Alex Velez-Green, a senior aide to Undersecretary of War Elbridge Colby.

The adjustment ofthe NATO Force Model has reportedly become a key priority for Colby’s team ahead of the next NATO leaders’ summit, which will take place in Türkiye in July. Despite pushing the Europeans to take the lead on conventional forces,Colby previously said the US would “strenuously oppose” them in developing nuclear weapons to replace the US nuclear umbrella.

The report comes amid abroader scaling back of the US military presence in Europe, where more than 80,000 US troops were stationed in 2025 under a decades-old systemof combined territorial defense and deterrence dating back to the end of World War II.

The White House has reportedly drawn up a NATO “naughty and nice” listto reward those who supported the US-Israeli war against Iran and punish those who did not, including byshifting troops, scaling back exercises, or redirecting military cooperation.

Earlier this month, the Pentagon canceled the planned rotation of 4,000 troops into Poland, shortly after announcing the withdrawal of 5,000 soldiers from Germany. US Secretary ofWar Pete Hegseth has also reportedly canceled the deployment to Germany of a battalion specializing in long-range missiles.

European NATO members remain heavily dependent on the US for key capabilities, including intelligence satellites, long-range missiles, heavy airlift, and undersea warfare capacity, though they have drastically increased their military budgets in recent yearson the pretext of a looming Russian threat.

Moscow has condemned the militarization of Europe, arguing that Western governments are using “ostentatious Russophobia” to justify turning the EU into a military bloc and to divert attention away from domestic issues.

(The sorry part is most Europeans will not volunteer to protect their countries)

Trump Moves to Squeeze Illegal Aliens Out of the U.S. Financial System with New Executive Order Targeting Banking Loopholes

By Jim Hᴏft May. 20, 2.1/2

(Trump and Bessent are not f’ing around)

President Trump has taken another major step in his immigration enforcement agenda, this time targeting access to the American banking system.

In a new executive order issued Tuesday, the Trump administration directed the Treasury Department to increase scrutiny of financial activity tied to illegal immigration, including potential payroll tax evasion, concealed account ownership, off-the-books wage schemes, labor trafficking, and the use of Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) without verified legal presence documentation.

Banks will now be pressured to strengthen customer identification requirements and think twice before handing out accounts, loans, credit cards, or any financial services to those here illegally.

In plain English:No more easy banking for illegal aliens. No more wiring billions in remittances back to foreign countries while American families struggle. No more using our financial system to launder cartel money or fund the very invasion destroying our communities.

According to the new executive:

Safeguarding Against Fraud and Abuse. (a) Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of the Treasury shall issue a formal Advisory to financial institutions regarding the risks associated with the exploitation of the United States financial system by non-work authorized populations and their employers. This Advisory shall describe specific red flags and typologies associated with the following categories of suspicious activity:

(i) evidentiary patterns of payroll tax evasion by employers or labor brokers, including the systematic failure to withhold or remit Federal employment taxes for non-work authorized individuals;

(ii)the utilization of certain foreign-identity documents, nominee accounts, shell companies, or complex “funnel” structures designed to obfuscate the identity of the ultimate beneficial owners or conceal the true nature of payroll disbursements;

(iii)the strategic use of unregistered money services businesses, third-party payment processors, or peer-to-peer platforms to facilitate “off-the-books” wagepayments intended to bypass Bank Secrecy Act reporting thresholds or tax obligations;

(iv) patterns of repetitive, sub-threshold cash withdrawals or deposits that correlate with payroll cycles conducted outside of regulated payroll processing systems, also known as “structuring and micro-structuring”;

(v) financial activity indicative of labor trafficking or forced labor (as defined in 18 U.S.C. 1589), where proceeds are commingled with legitimate business revenue or transferred to foreign jurisdictions; and

(vi)the use of an individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) to obtain credit products or open depository accounts where the applicant lacks verified lawful immigration status. Although an ITIN facilitates tax compliance, its use in lieu of a Social Security number or valid work-authorized visa may be identified as a risk factor requiring enhanced due diligenceto ensure the account is not being utilized to facilitate the unlawful employment of unauthorized aliens.

(b) Within 90 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of the Treasury shall, in consultation with the appropriate Federal functional financial regulators, propose changes to applicable implementing regulations of the Bank Secrecy Act to strengthen risk-based customer due diligence requirements for covered financial institutions. Such changes should ensure that:

(i) institutions collect and verify sufficient customer identity information to reasonably identify the nominal and beneficial owners of accounts in order to assess risks related to illicit finance, sanctions evasion, fraud, or other unlawful activity; and

(ii) institutions maintain the authority, where warranted by other risk indicators or supervisory concerns, to obtain additional information necessary to resolve material compliance concerns, including information relevant to whether account holders possess lawful immigration status and employment authorization in the United States when such information is relevant to assessing risks associated with fraud, identity misrepresentation, sanctions evasion, or other illicit financial activity, as part of a risk-based customer due diligence program.

(c) Within 180 days of the date of this order, the Secretary of the Treasury and the appropriate Federal functional financial regulators shall consider changes to applicable implementing regulations of the Bank Secrecy Act to strengthen risk-based customer identification program requirements for covered financial institutions. Any changes considered should account for the risks foreign consular identification cards pose to the integrity of the United States financial system.

Addressing Structural Credit Risks. (a) Within 60 days of the date of this order, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau shall consider clarifying that potential deportation and loss of wages are factors that could adversely affect a non-work authorized borrower’s ability to repay an extension of credit under the “ability-to-repay” standards in 12 CFR Part 1026 and its appendices and supplements, and that lenders may consider such factors as part of a reasonable and good-faith underwriting determination.

(b)Within 60 days of the date of this order, each appropriate Federal functional financial regulator shall issue guidance regarding the management of the potential credit risks posed by the non-work authorized population.
