Pack your bags, Thune…

John Thune is quickly becoming the face of everything MAGA voters hate about the GOP.
And President Trump sent a message to all RINOs by endorsing Ken Paxton over establishment flunky John Cornyn in Texas. This was a move that instantly put Cornyn’s political future in absolute peril and made Thune’s leadership look a helluva lot shakier. Cornyn is one of Thune’s key establishment allies, and many conservatives believe the Senate leadership establishment was trying to basically blackmail Trump by using the SAVE Act as leverage to keep Trump from backing Paxton.
That plan appears to have blown up.
Now, withTrump furious that the SAVE Act still isn’t passed, Thune has reportedly sent senators home again while major pieces of Trump’s agenda sit there collecting dust. No recess appointments. No SAVE Act. No clean win on election integrity. No major border funding victory locked down. Just more of the typical GOP games, excuses, and yet another taxpayer vacation while the country waits for something to be done.
People are furious.
The SAVE Act isn’t some obscure bill. It’s one of the only bills lately that has sweeping bipartisan support. Voter ID is popular, even with plenty of Dem voters. The only people fighting it are left-wing politicians, their activist cronies, and the Republican co-conspirators like Thune and Cronyn.
Mediaite:
Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) reportedly sent his colleagues home Thursday as Republicans remain divided on President Donald Trump’s payout fund.
Days earlier, the Department of Justice announced that $1.8 billion would be allocated to creating a fund for supposed victims of the weaponization of the legal system. Critics of the project have dubbed it a “slush fund” for convicted January 6 rioters and other Trump loyalists. Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) even called the fund “stupid on stilts” in a firm rejection of it.
On Thursday, Attorney General Todd Blanche met with Senate Republicans to discuss the fund. It was widely reported that the meeting did not go well.
Trump wants action… everybody wants action, yet the Republican Senate always seems to find a way to turn obvious momentum into a chaotic traffic jam.
Meanwhile, Thune is giving conservatives every reason to believe he either can’t control his people or doesn’t really want to.
Trump is now calling out Dems, claiming the reason they don’t want voter ID is because their whole political model depends on loosey-goosey elections and open borders. So, if that’s the case, are establishment GOP senators trying to help Dems achieve their goals?
Nick Sortor:
🚨 NOW: President Trump is getting increasingly ANGRY that Senate Republicans have STILL not passed the SAVE America Act
“We have more corrupt elections than THIRD WORLD COUNTRIES have.”
“Even DEMOCRAT VOTERS want [voter ID].
87%! But the Democrat politicians don’t want to pass. And the reason is they’d never be elected again because of their policy of open borders, transgender for everyone.”
“The Senate and the House, they ought to get together and they ought to pass the Save America Act so that you have voter ID.”
“The only way they can win is to cheat. And that’s what they want to do.”
BANNON: These Republican senators like Cornyn are REFUSING to work on the SAVE America Act! Now they’re going to go home on another holiday because they’re “too busy.”
Free advice to President Trump: Start changing that by removing John Thune! pic.twitter.com/PfPjh7Jlk4

If Cornyn falls, and it looks like that will happen, Thune’s grip weakens.
If the SAVE Act keeps stalling, the pressure on Thune grows. And if Republican senators keep choosing vacations, excuses, and internal drama over the agenda voters demanded, Bannon’s call to oust Thune seems like the next logical step.
